Thank you for this. I cannot fathom what goes through Adobe's mind when they make these terrible decisions. They take perfectly good products and make them worse. It's clear that their developers aren't using Dreamweaver or they would have known not to take that out.

[Offending language removed by Mod]. You do this with every major release change. Dreamweaver is already a laughingstock amongst developers and now you take away one of the tools I found most useful!!!?? That's it, it's time I found some other tool for developing. I can't believe this. One of the few things you did right and you take it away. great, bang up job Adobe.

Yes, but I am not talking about pre-composing. I dont' want to 'move layers into a new composition'. I want to duplicate a layer that contains a composition and in doing so duplicate that composition in the project panel as well. But it sounds like there still is no shortcut for this, so I'll look into scripting.

Rick, No it's not precomposing. I don't want to move my layers into a new comp. I want to make a copy of one comp layer (in the timeline) and while copying, have it converted to a brand new comp that is identical. Then I could double click and make my modifications. Mylenium, why would you think there should be no shortcut for this? It would be a small timesaver. I could dupicate a layer and while doing so, also duplicate all fo the contents and the comp itself. that would be soooo easy!

Hi, I know that in the project panel I can do Control D and make a new comp. I know that in the layer panel I can do control D and make a new layer for a different comp, which keeps all the animations I have applied to that comp. I also know that after I've duplicated that comp in the Project Panel I can Alt drag it to the other comp in the timeline and replace, or swap the comps. What I want is to remove a step. I have Comp A In the timeline I want to duplicate this comp and at the same time create a new Comp B. What I want is to be able to duplicate the layer in the timeline, and while doing so also create a new composition which would show up in my project panel. Basically I am trying to skip the extra steps of duplicating layer, going to project panel, duplicating comp, then Alt dragging to swap them. Is there a shortcut for this?

Hi, I've got loadMovie working and it loads a movie clip that has a stop(); on the first frame. At a certain frame within my main movie, I want to tell the loaded clip to play(); My symbol is called "load1" without the quotes of course. It's an empty MC and on frame two my movie gets loaded into it. On frame three after a few seconds I have load1.play(); which I figure should work, but it doesn't! Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong? Thanks, Stan

Hi, I have a file linked to a bunch of tifs. I've run a script in PS converting those images to jpeg. I could manually change each link, but I'd much rather use a script to go through my doc and convert my link urls from *.tif to *.jpg Has anyone come across a script for this? and if not, I can build one, but I'm having trouble finding the InDesign Scripting Reference pdf. Can someone point me in the direction? Thanks, Stan

My system has 8 Gb of Ram and 4 processors. I doubt it's the system. I've had problems with CS Master Collection since day one. My main complaint is the goddamn tabs and interface. Everything is so chunky. CS2 was smooth as butter. They keep making their products use more RAM and it's ridiculous. The tabs don't help, they only make life harder. Thanks for the suggestions, I was hoping not to have to reinstall PS, but looks like it's the only option.

Hi, First off let me say that the latest release of Adobe products is a steaming pile of @#$#$. Countless software issues, it's slow, buggy, you name it. That being said, has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it. My Script Events Manager is broken. Yes broken. The only buttons I see are "Done" and "Remove". There is no "Add" button so that I can actually add events. Someone please tell me this is user error and that I don't need to reinstall PS.

Ok but I am willing to put in the time. I have to learn it eventually, so no it's not 'just' for this one thing, the frame label. Aside from the learning curve, any other reason not to dive in? The file I'm using only has simple coding. I've got a giant button (size of the stage, invisible) that advances 10 frames, a key listener so I can navigate with arrows, and a few other simple things. Can't be too hard with AS3 right?

Hi, I have a presentation that is going to be run by our CEO from an exe file. I'm currently using AS 2 and wondering if I should switch over to AS3. Hi, So I have this wonderful script I wrote to export layers to gifs. And when I try to set opts.lossy = 0; Photoshop completley ignores me. It is also ignoring opts.interlaced = true; It's always setting my lossy to 60 and my interlaced to false. What gives? Is this a bug? thanks, Stan

ok this is @#$@#$ing ridiculous. Now it's not working again. I have changed NOTHING and it just decides not to work. great product Adobe.
Paul the include is the very first line in the script. It just isn't working. I'm convinced the code is right, I've tried it every way possible. It just plum isn't working. I guess I'll just reinsert my code into the file and forget the include.
