Oh wow, next time I want to be helpful I will ask for your permission first before I write something . And I am pretty confident that on my Epson printer, when using ColorSync Utility in target mode in the Color Matching section both "ColorSync" and "Epson Color Control" are greyed out because color management is not used. Thanks Neil, I can post in LR forum but the issue is the same also in PS. There is no ABW = Advanced Black & White option (typo, my bad, not Automatic White Balance 😉 under the color dropdown menu. But someone told me that actually for the ET-8550 perhaps it is called just "Black & White" in LR and PS? If I use Epson Print Layout then I have that ABW option and when I use it prints seem identical to B&W in LR/PS (99% identical, maybe that 1% is due to exporting the pic into a certain color space, jpg compression and reimporting in EPL, rather than printing directly). No complaint re print quality, this printer is exceptional for photos (see Keith Cooper YouTube videos) and yes everything is calibrated and profiled. Also, the options you are showing are not missing in my printer driver, those paper types are in the media type dropdown menu that in my screenshot is set to Epson Matte (unless you meant that the word "archival" is missing?). thanks!   ... I have the same problem. I have the latest driver. LR is set to "managed by Printer" and the Print Setting on "EPSON Color Controls". Still this is what I see in terms of Color options, AWB missing. Printer is on driver 13.26, not AirPrint. Any idea? ... View more

Interesting as I had noticed the same thing in 2016 (I also use DSCL).  This was my email to them: "Hi, I printed several hundred 15x10 pictures with you lately and I have noticed that when softproofing B&W pictures (it might be the same for color but maybe less noticeable) the Perceptual rendering intent produces a visibly warmer cast vs Relative, which should not be the case. Andrew Rodney (author of Color Management for Professional) had a look at your C-type lustre profile for me and says that "Profiles have two tables; one affects the preview (soft proof), the other the numbers the data is converted to for output. The two should be in sync. Not in this profile. It was built awhile ago using a discontinued product from GMB". Could you please check and consider updating your print profile?"   And their reply:   "Thank you for your email, Fuji them self’s create the profiles for us and these are check every couple of months although it has not been changed for eighteen months or so. All you need to do to achieve top quality BW is convert the file to our paper profile rather than soft proof."   I think nothing has changed since then. ... View more

Great, we see the same thing. I don't follow you when you say "if I alter the file name". Assuming you saved the first pic as "Untitled". The save window will propose the same "Untitled" name for the second pic. At this point either u leave Untitled or replace it with any other name, it will not save. At least for me. PS I assume there is nothing I can do right? Either Apple or Adobe will have to fix this? Is it safe to assume everyone has got this problem? ... View more

Depends what we mean for "first save". If your folder is empty and you are saving the very first image then it will not fail. After the first picture is saved, any first attempt to save any other picture will fail while the second attempt will be successful. So if that is what you meant we are on the same page. But please bear in mind that the first attempt (to save any other pic after the first) will fail regardless of the file name. ... View more

No, the first attempt is the one always unsuccessful, unless the folder where I am saving contains no other picture. The second attempt is still done on the same picture, I do not select a second image, I just click on print to file a second time and it works. Any clue? A bug of Lightroom or OSX? If I want to make the first attemp sucessfull I have to click on the dropdown menu and select a different folder instead of "To print" and then switch back to "To Print". Thanks ... View more

OK, so here is the thing, my Mac is a Macbook Pro Early 2015 in its basic configuration (128 GB, 8 GB RAM etc). The first image is what I get when I click on "print to file" the first time (0% success rate, it never saves the jpg). You see that there is a picture in the folder already selected and viewable on the right in the saving screen. The second image is what I get when I click on "print to file" for the second time (for the same picture). The second attempt works all the time. This is my experience. I have a 4k monitor (Dell UP2414Q) and used to run it with a Mac Mini Late 2014 (the midrange model) and LR 5.7 and everything was fine. As fast as my 4 years old laptop and Full HD screen. So no particular issue related to 4k (only thing is that the Mini could get 30hz not 60hz but no big deal for photo editing). Now I replaced the Mac Mini with the latest Macbook Pro 13" (early 2015) and LR 5 with 6, same screen. Overall it is a big step back in terms of speed, I find ironic that speed is the main selling point for Lr6. Flipping through pictures takes for ever and when you are back from a travel and have 2,000 pics to sort/select/discard that's many hours added to workflow. Many things are slower while some are just not usable, like the brush for the gradient and graduated filter. Not sure what is the best setting for my hardware. Have to try with GPU disabled. It took longer than usual to release this version of LR. Not many features added and slower workflow. Hope it will get better soon. In the meanwhile I cannot use LR5 now that my catalog has been migrated to LR6, right? ... View more
