Sounds like you want to use the 'Step back' function. Adjust the number of frames to jump in the preferences and then but the default keyboard shortcut of Shift+Left.

How are you trimming? Are you dragging clip handles or are you entering Trim mode? If you edit in Trim mode then your preroll settings will jump back the predetermined duration.

Not quite the same thing but you can enable the 'Video Usage' column in the project panel and it will give you a dropdown of the times that clip is used in a seq.

You say VLC won't play it...but you are able to open it to check the Media Information? Does the audio play? There is no issue with audio being Stream 0 and video being Stream 1 - this is normal. Are you able to upgrade to the latest version to see if the issue disappears?

I'm not aware of any way of ignoring them. I do agree that it's counter-intuitive for the reset button to be the first item selected on the next line, but then I've never used tab as a way of navigating through the settings. It seems like a lot of wasted button presses; if I know I want to rotate then i'll go straight to Rotation with the mouse rather than tabbing though eight other controls. For accessibility reasons however, if a user can't use a mouse then I can understand why you would tab through everything.

Open the Properties panel and make sure you don't have any graphics objects selected an you will see a 'Roll' checkbox at the bottom of the panel.

You might want to split out the channels before adding them to timeline. Right click the clip in the project and choose Modify > Audio Channels. Then you can change the Number of Audio clips to 2. Set the Left channel for both left and right in Clip 1 and set the Right channel for both Left and right in clip 2. Now when you put your clips on the timeline you will have a Stereo clip (technically dual track mono) for each of your mic and ambient tracks.

I agree this would be useful and intuitive. The workaround is to open the History panel from the Window menu. When you click back and forth through your actions you can see them changing on the timeline - assuming you have zoomed out. The zoom level/view and playhead position are independent of the timeline actions.

What format are your audio files? Try converting them to PCM WAVs (if they aren't already) and then relink your clips to the new files. Perhaps try converting them in another app, just in case Premiere is struggling with some part of the file.

You can set a shortcut for: "Toggle Mute for All Targeted Audio Tracks" So you can use in combination with CMD+drag on the track selectors (or CTRL + drag in windows) to select your audio tracks and then hit the assigned shortcut to toggle the mute.

Here's a slightly clunky work-around to help with avoiding scrolling: Make sure your bins are inside a 'master' bin at the root of the project. This will allow you to open this 'master' bin in a new panel by alt+double clicking on it. You can then filter the view of this new panel to only show bins (i.e. no clips) by searching "Bin" in the search bar at the top. You can then drag clips fromm your original project panel into this new 'bin panel'.

In the Transcript panel, if you click the funnel icon and select 'Search Settings...' You can then enable 'Search whole single word'. This will avoid selecting 'am' in 'camera'.

It's possible your multi-cam sequence actually contains more than 4 'cams'. Perhaps due to your audio. Load your multicam clip into the source monitor and using the wrench button: choose Edit Cameras. Disable any you don't need.

I was able to get the Ultrakey visible in multicam. I opened the multicam in the timeline (right-click on multicam in Project panel and "Open in timeline'). I nested a clip, then stepped into that nest and applied the Ultrakey with a new BG below it. That new BG was visible when I loaded the Multicam into the source monitor in the 4-up/quad display. Does this work for you?

Are you able to do a screengrab or a screen recording of the issue? You say you are careful to "unlock all the tracks"? Are you talking about Track locks or Sync Locks? You want to keep the Sync locks on to maintain sync.

I tested this using a file I made in Premiere. When you import a file with embedded close captions and drag it to the new sequence icon, it will make a new sequence with a CEA-708 track. Your captions should appear on it. Just make sure the track selector is checked when doing extracts so they stay in time with everything else. When you export, make sure you enable the Captions section and change the Export Options to "Embed in output file".

Can you describe exactly the steps you have taken? If you are trying to import a corrected transcript then you need to have a 'static' transcript rather than a text-based-editing transcript before you can import a TXT file.

I've never tried to use 32bit audio (as far as I'm aware...) but one thing that could help is in the Preferences>Audio you could choose: Render audio when rendering video. If your audio is rendered as your working then it possibly won't need to render as much when you go to export.
