I have searched everywhere for a fix, but I can't find anyone else who has ever had this problem. I have tried every fix that I can find for problems even remotely similar, such as deleting the cache, reinstalling, resetting, restarting the entire project, replacing the problem clips, and so forth. Nothing has worked.
I am trying to edit some audio for a podcast, and when I first started the project, all 6 lines of individual audio worked fine. It wasn't until I finally finished editing the 3 and a half hours worth of audio that it started having problems. Randomly, the audio files started grabbing different parts from other sections of the project. For example, my A1 audio track is completely jumbled to the point where it's randomly pulling audio from that same track from different points in the project, then just throwing them wherever it wants. It's doing this for all tracks. I accepted that the project had to have corrupted itself somehow after spending 7 hours trying to fix it, so I started from scratch in an entirely new project. The original audio files play completely normally in every other program, but the moment I put them back into Premiere, the exact same problem occurred. I'm at a complete loss. I don't know what to do, and there doesn't seem to be any kind of fix??? It's like Premiere is reading the files wrong for some reason.
If anyone knows how to help, I would really appreciate it. I don't want to have to try editing this project in another program because I would have to learn how to use something new, and this needs to be done by the end of the month. Oh, and, you know, I'm paying for Premiere Pro.
What format are your audio files?
Try converting them to PCM WAVs (if they aren't already) and then relink your clips to the new files.
Perhaps try converting them in another app, just in case Premiere is struggling with some part of the file.

They were originally MP3 files, but after converting them, that actually fixed it!! Thank you so much! You have no idea how much help that was!
