Hi all! I just upgraded to version 30.0 yesterday on my iMac. Up until then, when I saved an Illustrator file... it would remember the last format I saved (i.e., eps or svg) and would continue saving as that format until I changed it. Now... it is always defaulting to an ai file. Is there a way to chane that? I don't recall if I did it on purpose before, but I liked it that way... and would like to have that feature back.  Thanks so much!     ... View more

Hi all! I've been using "genertive fill" quite a bit. My client sends me images that are either too small or the wrong orienation for social media images. I've found the ai generative fill to be invaluable. However, the command I use most is just "continue background" or "continue background no text." The reason I add, "No text" is that more often than not, ai adds weird text that doesn't really spell anything (not that that matters... I don't wany ANY text added). What command can I use that will let it know I don't want text... just the background of the image to be continued? Just adding "no text" doesn't seem to work. I also have removed or hidden text layers, in case it was picking up on those. To no avail. I'm attaching an example. I selected (what is now) the dark blue area at the bottom and just typed in "continue background." And this is what I got. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.  ... View more

This will seem like an odd question. I have recently bought a new iMac. I have downloaded and installed all my Adobe programs on the new computer. All that is fine. I didn't remove all the apps from my old computer... just in case something happens to my new one (it's happened to me before). However, in the meantime... I'd like to be able to open PDFs on my old computer, so I figured I'd just download the free version of Acrobat. When I try, it says I have a version of Acrobat already installed... and it won't let me install the free version. So I thought I'd just remove the installed version of Adobat DC. But... apparently Adobe Creative Cloud was automatically removed when I installed the programs on my new computer. OK. In my Acrobat folder on my old computer, I see "Acrobat Uninstaller." But when I click on that, nothing happens. So... is there anything I can do? Or do I just need to delete all my Adobe apps from my old computer? And if so, what is the best way to do this now that I don't have Creative Cloud on there? Thanks!  Update: Adobe Creative Cloud is still on my old computer. It just took a long time to open. But it wants me to sign in... and I'm afraid if I do that it will log me out on my new computer. Is that a big deal? ... View more

Hi all! I used Dreamweaver a LONG time ago. Then I used Muse. And I've been procrastinating for YEARS about re-learning Dreamweaver. But I'm doing it. I'm trying to recreate something I created in Dreamweaver, then Muse. And I can't get it to work right. Basically, I have an image. I've broken it in to 8 pieces... so that some of the pieces are rollovers. But they are all part of one big image. I broke the image up in Photohop, making sure all images on one row are the same height and add up to the grand total. Same with the columns and their widths. I imported each piece in to a table in Dreamweaver... but they just wont' line up! A few of the table cells are wider than the image inside the cell. How do I force the cell to be the correct width so they all line up?  I'm sure there's a better way to do what I'm trying to do, but since I have all the images and I used to be able to make it work this way, I'm just going with it. Hi all! I'm not sure I'm using the right words in my question. Basically, here's what I want to do. I have an vector image downloaded from a site that someone else made. I am adding words to it to make it look like those words have been "cut out" of the object. I know how to do this with a solid shape. But this object I downloaded has all sorts of gradients and warping things that have been done to modify it. So it's not just one solid object. Is there a way to "flatten" the object so that I can "cut out" words from it? Does this make any sense? LOL Let me know what other info I can give you. Thanks so much. ... View more
