Im setting up a MOGRT so i need this text to always be centered no matter how many lines are written inI used a sourcerectatime expression for the anchor point, but because the position animator stretches the text box it does this weird jump at the end of the animation when the text box shrinks back to size again. Hello. I am not very technical with this stuff so please feel free to ask any questions, as long as it can help me fix the problem.  I was downloading a few plugins today for After Effects (I'm running After Effects 23.0.0.59). But after I installed the Trapcode plugin, it wouldn't run and kept on giving me crash logs that would automatically be added on my desktop. Because it happened once the plugin was installed, I thought that was the source of the problem, so I removed anything Trapcode related that I had just installed to see if it would work. Unfortunately it hasn't, and after doing some research on this problem, I still couldn't find any fixes. Hello!  Often, I am animating an object using BOTH scale and position at the same time (a logo grows and moves to the side of the screen). But when I apply an Easy Ease to both the scale and the position, the logo feels like it "curves" into position. Even though the path is a direct, straight line.  Am I doing something wrong?

I've written an expression (partly using code I've found elsewhere) to animate a group of 5 spheres so that they can either circle around a null or follow it with a delay between them. Generally it works well but when I try to animate the circling speed it doesn't animate smoothly. Between two keyframes, it sometimes appears to reverse, slow down, or speed up wildly when it should be gradually gaining speed. Hello, I'm new to after effects and I want to add a gradient with 3 colors on a layer. I've tried the effect "Range of gradients" but it only allows me to chose 2 colors but not a transition color between the 2 colors. I've also tried "4 points gradient" with 2 of the colors being the same but then the gradient can only be radial and not linear. So how can I create a linear gradient with 3 colors or can I chose a transition color for the effect "Range of gradients" ? thank's for the help, looking forward for your answers ! 

I have been rendering some fairly simple GFX (basic text animtors, shape layers, 2k images fading on and off etc) for a 1920x1080 60FPS presentation wall to ProRes4444 + Alpha files. Even when rendering to a fast scratch SSD from RAM (almost always dark green bar during render) or from cache, AE seems to hit some sort of speed limit at around 30FPS.   Normally that's plenty fast, but some of these slideshows are 5min long comps, so a 5 min comp can take 10 min to output for 60FPS. My system is more or less idle while its writing from RAM and I am wondering what the limitation is that is keeping this from being a faster encode? ProRes 422HQ goes marignally faster but still tops out at around 30-40FPS  Seems like the bottleneck is just writing out the .mov file but the disk write max I can get is about 40MB/s which is a lot lower than what the SSD can handle.  @jenkmeister17177426 Any tips? AE: 23.6.0 (build 62) PC: 3960x Thread

Hi everybody, I have an error message when I try to render my project telling me: "after effects error. Image buffers of size 12656×10926 @ 32 bpc (2.1 gb) exceed internal limits. Decrease the memory requirements for the rendering of this frame (12804). For more information see www.adobe.com/go/learn_ae_mem_fr.(37 L 66). I have added text animation the same way for years (I use animation presets). As of late however, something has changed. Not sure if it's a bug or not but whenever I add the same preset I've used for years, the animation looks different.  I would usually add Opacity (0%) and Position (dependant on text size, mask etc however let's say 40) to Text Animation. In Advanced settings, Based on would be 'Lines', Mode would be 'Add', shape would be 'Ramp Up' with Easy High at -100%.  What I'd usually expect to see, is the text animating in from 0% opacity one line at a time with nice easing. What I'm finding now is after the first line animates up and the second line animates up, but then the first line moves back down. This has never happened in the years I've used After Effects. All I want is each line to fade in with slight bit of movement of y position but it's behaving unlike anything I've seen before.  Any idea what's going on?

I have the strangest problem: After Effects is showing me a font (Source Code) which isn't even installed on my Mac (and I've deactivated fontkit). Since I need the font in all font-weights for a client I tried installing it. But After Effects still shows me the same 4 font-weights and is ignoring semi-bold (or all other new weights) which is the only version I need. It doesn't matter if I delete the font from my M1 Max or if I reinstall or if I try to synch via typekit. After Effects shows me the same 4 versions, but not the one I need - all other Adobe software like Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator do show all font versions without a problem. On my older MB Pro it shows as well. And no other software has a problem with it, just After Effects.  So I've completely de-installed creative cloud, deleted the font (and font cache), deleted the remaining Adobe folders and com.adobe.* manually, de-activated type-kit... and when I start After Effects now after re-installing it n

When I export a project one file appears missing – however the file is linked in After Effects and looks fine. What's going on??I've tried restarting the program, reloading the file, replacing it, deleting it and reimporting – also after changing the original file name. None of it helps.

Is there anywhere a script (free or commercial) that will let me count the number of compositions, layers, shapes etc in an after effect file?Prefereably it will generate a report or a spreadsheet file.. I have been searching, and I don't believe I can do that in after effects without a script or a plugin.

Unless you own a $5000 computer and you have a lame $2500 computer, don't even think about buying programs from Adobe. Especially Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.All day long I render ONE video, rendering a 10 minute video with effects created in After Effects lasts about 40 minutes. In the end the video doesn't work. It just stops at the first two minutes and that's it, even though the video is 12 minutes long, but you can't watch the video beyond the 2nd minute. Once the program showed me what errors there are in my project that prevented rendering, I fixed them, but it did not help. And what is this nonsense? Why can't the program warn the user about errors at the beginning of rendering? Why should I waste 40 minutes of my time and only find out at the end that the project didn't render properly because there was an error in the project? In the latest upgrade to After Effects 22.1.1, I have found there is a bug in aerender that causes occasional hangs on MacOS (Catalina 10.15.7 on Intel, and Big Sur 11.6.3 on M1).Most renders will complete fine as expected, but approximately 1 in 10 will hang or freeze after the render has completed - the output file will be written, but the aerender process hangs. No error is shown in the terminal. Manually opening After Effects (as in the app GUI) will suddenly fix this - the aerender process will immediately un-hang and complete as normal. Downgrading AE back to to 22.0.1 fixes this bug, it does not occur with this version as far as I can tell. To reproduce, run a bash script similar to this one, which repeatedly calls aerender in a for loop. It may take a few tries, it does not seem to be consistently reproducible. A log of what the typical output is here. Note that there is no error or any output suggesting something went wrong, it just hangs at the very end.&n

Hi  Could be a dumb question. My apologies. I am a beginner. I searched in Google and Adobe help manuals but couldn't find exactly what I am looking for.  I am making explainer videos with footages, voice-over and a lot of animations (especially data/statistical) done in After Effects.  After the script is done, I start with making animations in After Effects (which doesn't match with the voice over). Then, I import them into Premiere Pro and then, go back and forth between PP and AE (and sometimes Illustrator too) for voice matching. In Premiere pro, I take notes on the instances (Time) where every animation event should happen and then do them in AE. I understand I am wasting a lot of time by doing this but I don't know how to import a part of the audio file (voice over) into AE (for reference only) and do the animations correctly in the first place.  Could you please help me with a better workflow? Hello everyone, When I open my project in AE, I get the following error: "The Photoshop Library failed to load because the device has no free space" and then another saying "The Photoshop Library operation failed", which I can't close (every time I click on OK, it disppears and reappears). This is a project on which I have been working for several months and is quite large, and once it is open, no more error messages appear.The only thing I can to open the project is to restart my Mac.What could be causing this? Is this a RAM issue? I don't know which device AE is referring to, since I have several scratch disks, and every one has enough free space.I have a MacBook Pro with MacOSX 10.15.7 and 16GB RAM, with AE CC 18 installed. Thanks in advance for any help,Mikołaj
