After Effects (Beta)

Hello Beta users!  In the latest Beta builds of After Effects, you are now able to copy and paste keyframes across multiple layers. This new functionality is available in After Effects (Beta) 24.2.0.38 or later. We have been working on this feature for quite some time and are very excited to share it with all of you!     We know this functionality is highly requested, so we'd love to hear your feedback.

I have been using the beta and there is problem , most  of the time my both preferences got reset and lost my recent project in recent files ,thats annnoying  for the work and you to relocate the project every project again, it happens with beta and also the prefrences got reset in the main version of after effects 

Hello! A memory management update has been implemented in After Effects starting from After Effects Beta v24.5x17.Users can limit the "RAM available for After Effects" through a preference under Memory & Performance settings. By default this limit is set to a significant portion of RAM available on the system. With this update, After Effects adheres to this limit more strictly, reducing transient spikes in memory usage. This reduces spurious low memory warnings and ensures a more consistent preview range. This update is particularly beneficial in scenarios where the frame cache is recycling frames very quickly such as when switching between previewing two high-resolution comps.

Today, we’re announcing a new feature in After Effects Beta 24.5 x27, the ability to import files directly to a specific folder in the Project panel. Just right-click on any folder in your project and you can select the same "Import" and "Import Recent Footage" commands that you're used to in the File menu. These will import all selected files to the folder you clicked on.Similarly, using the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl+I while a Folder is selected will import to that folder.    Project organization is a crucial part of working efficiently, and before this change you could only import files to the root of your project and then have to drag them to the correct place, so we’d love to hear how this works for you.Please note: 3D models that are imported currently do not take advantage of this feature and will be imported into your Project root. 

Seeing as it's impossible (currently) to "stack" Track Mattes (see this post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-beta-bugs/cannot-quot-stack-quot-track-mattes/idc-p/14610070 ) and Set Matte is often useless*, how about we have a brand new shiny effect "Track Matte" which behaves exactly like a Track Matte, but enables us to:Stack more than one Track Matte (by adding more than one Track Matte effect)Change the order in which a Track Matte happens in the effects stackGood idea, don't you think? Steps to reproduce:If I click on different layers in various comps, the ECP often fails to update; it might still show the effects controls for a layer I selected some time ago. I've never seen this issue before, and it doesn't happen (on the same project) in the release version (24.3.0 Build 50). Also, sometimes if I enter a value on a layer's effects (eg. the amount of Gaussian Blur) when I press Enter to exit the number box, AE opens that layer. UPDATE: Yes, this DOES happen with the same project in the release version! Very weird. Howdy Y’all!     Version 24.5 x 29 of After Effects Beta introduces support for the Advanced 3D engine on specific Intel GPUs.   We’ve collaborated with our friends at Intel to fix a driver issue, and now the new Advanced 3D features are available on 12th, 13th, and 14th Generation Intel Core processors.  We are also supporting Intel Arc A3xx and Arc Pro Axx discrete GPUs.     We’re excited to open the gates of 3D model import, Environment Lights, HDRI Lighting, Shadow Catchers & Colors (Beta), Animated Models (Beta), and Depth Map Extraction (Beta) to AE creators using Intel GPUs who have been patiently waiting on the sidelines until today.     Getting Started  All you need to do is launch After Effects Beta, import a 3D Model, or add a layer to a comp and turn it into a 3D Layer.   The 3D Render Engine Dropdown menu in the Comp Window will now give you the option to choose the Advanced 3D Renderer.  &

Friends, colleauges: Of the many documented properties+methods available in ScriptUI to position and resize dockable ScriptUI palettes in After Effects, most of us have tinkered with: win.bounds = { Bounds object } win.windowBounds = { Bounds object } win.frameSize = [ width , height ] win.size = [ width , height ] win.location = [ x , y ] win.frameLocation = [ x , y ] ..but these don't appear to work anymore. Or, maybe they've gone read-only? Is there a new, preferred way to script (set, rather than get) the position + location of ScriptUI palettes, or has this functionality been deprecated? Just curious, no pressure. Below is tests.jsx which creates a dockable window, then alerts the user to different attempts at resizing or repositioning it, using the methods listed above. When tests.jsx is placed inside AE's ScriptUI Panels folder, the methods don't work. When tests.jsx is launched from VS Code, the window resizes+relocates as expected.&nbsp

Colorspace workflows not functioning in latest AE beta, works fine in standard AE. Using the OCIO colorspace transform plugin to change footage colorspaces has no effect. Same for any adjustments in the color management area of the project settings.

If a text layer contains multiple justifications on different layers, editing text using character range can cause justification to incorrectly change. Steps to reproduce:1. Open justifyText.aep and have Comp 1 open and active.2. File > Run Script....run justifyText script. Script output:"top line justify = 7413 next line was = 7414changing text to = *1234*top line justify now = 7414 next line now = 7414"While the (0,5) character range covers a single justification setting across the top line of text,changing the text (still 4 characters plus return) causes it to adopt the justification of the next line.3. Either I'm missing something or Kerning doesn't appear to work properly with character range queries. It mostly seems to return undefined, even for a character range of a single character. It's potentially important to check if kerning has been manually altered to be able to take steps to preserve that kerning during a scripted edit. autoKernType seems to work as expected, only returning undefined on mixed autoKernTypes in a single text layer, it's just kerning that does. Makes it impossible to query in any useful way. 1. Create a comp, a text layer with some text, set to Metrics. Run attached kerntest script and you get:autoKern all = Metrics first char = Metricskerning all = undefined first char = undefined Kerning should be returning 0 in both cases (the scripting docs say so too) 2. It is very annoying that the picture flickers every time I paint the mask with the roto brush. After each brush stroke, the picture disappears for a second and appears. Apparently reboots with new data. But when you work with a long segment of video, these blinks are very unnerving and strain your eyes. Smear - blink, smear - blink, corrected smear - blink ... Please fix this blink so that the picture does not disappear, but simply update the roto brush mask.

Hi Y'all!     As of AE Beta 24.4 x 20, you can now add .obj 3D models from your CC Libraries directly into your project in Beta. Open the Libraries panel and simply drag-and-drop your 3D model into the Project Panel or Comp Window. You can also right-click on the 3D Model thumbnail in the Libraries Panel and add .obj files via the context menu.      Cool!     But how do you get .obj models into your CC Libraries??     Good question!  This option now gives you access to the vast collection of free and premium 3D Models on Adobe Stock.   After you license your model, hover on the thumbnail for your model and click on the heart icon to Save to Library.          A notification will pop up in the right corner of your browser to confirm that the asset is being saved to your CC Libraries.  AE project that worked and was saved with no issues after re-opening seems to be damaged. Some layers are lost (shows both in AE 2024 and Beta).Is it related to Illustrator, Photoshop or Overlord plugin I don't know but posting here for devs information.

Hi, I've been testing the Blender glTF (glb) to After Effects workflow and there is a mismatch and incorrect conversion between the glTF exported file and the Blender rendered scene. (See video)With the glTF export the 50mm camera is created in After Effects with a 48.5268mm focal length that visually doesn't match the render. If this is manually changed to 50mm it matches the perspective correctly.Also the timing of the animation is wrong and there seems to be no way to alter or interpret it except by changing the Time remapping / speed which still doesn't work in my tests.https://youtu.be/vBsaSgYbqec   

All versions of the new AE are unable to deal with longer sequences of EXRs (DWAB). Tested on 22.1.1 beta too and still broken. Fails on all of our teams Windows 10 machines (20H2) 64Gb memory. Very disapointed as this is the format used by most 3D artists doing serious colour work and post. Oddly the same AE file brought into premiere to render to Proress4444 handles it just fine. Using this inside AE is impossible as it fills the RAM in the backround till the machine struggles to function. It ignores the memory prefs, dropping to half (32Gb for remaining OS) it still uses 99% memory and falls over. EXR files created in C4D with alpha. Can supply link to test project if you wish. Please fix this issue as it has caused many days of problems in our company. We have resorted back to older AE to render the job but this is poor.

I want to download After Effects 24.0 beta without creative cloud . Because when I download it with creative cloud, it gives me that I cannot download it because my cpu doesn't support AVX2, So I want to try to download it and may it ignore this issue, I want to download it because I want to use Rotobrush 3.0, Can anyone help me?

Plugin Premiere Pro Import: Unknown error. (5027::12)  After the last upgrade 24.5.0 (Build 4) now I can't import any premiere pro composition to after effects

The defined panel size in custom workspaces are not saved.  Some times it worked !!!! I do not succed to define the conditions to get it saved !!! At AE load the default MINIMUM panel size is used, not the size defined at workspace update or creation. Could you please save the defined panel size as in all other Adobe apps !!!!Many thanks
