After Effects (Beta)

I was trying to add a timer overlay using After Effects using Dynamic Link and Premiere Pro, which I could do fine in the non-beta versions of the respective programs. But for some reason using both the beta versions of both programs, the linked .MP4 file from Premiere Pro in After Effects takes much much longer to render. The render time (just to view in the timeline) displayed anything between 150ms to 350ms. Playback would often result in a 0.3 second segment of the video to loop and repeat over and over. Version: After Effects Beta 23.0OS: Windows 11Steps to reproduce the problem: Open a Premiere Pro project, and select "Replace with After Effects Composition", and open the linked project in After Effects.Expected result: Way better playback speeds, no "Low memory" message.

I am simply clicking update on the Adobe Creative Cloud as I normally would to update software to get this error.I have tried deleting stored info, CCX processes and surrounding folders, deleting all old app info, but to no avail. Yesterday I wanted to update Adobe After Effects (beta), but the installation failed. It also uninstalled the old version. I uninstalled the whole Adobe Creative Cloud, and installed it again, but it (the AE Beta version install) still fails.Attached is the error log.I could work with the normal version of After Effects, but then my files won't open and I have to start all over.What can I do? Anybody else experiencing this problem?

We are very happy to bring a new feature to the Beta. As of today’s build (22.5.0 Build 18) you can now color your keyframes with one of AE's label colors. This has been a huge customer request, and we know users that saw the sneak-peek at MAX have been anxious to get their hands on it.   Right-click on any keyframe(s), select ‘Label’, and choose the color you want assigned. You will also notice an option to ‘Select Label Group’, where you can use that color label as the basis for a selection. We have a few more features coming very soon, including scripting hooks and additional selection options. Je trouve le widget Universal pas si pratique et j'utiliserai plutôt les widgets Position, Echelle, Rotation. Pourquoi ne pas remprendre les raccourcis P S R, qui afficheraient à la fois la propriété correspondante dans le panneau montage et le widget dans le visualiseur de la composition. Les raccourcis 1, 2 et 3 ne fonctionnent pas non plus pour la navigation entre les outils caméra mais ce n'est pas gênant puisque l'on à les 3 boutons de souris avec Alt enfoncé ou appuyer plusieurs fois sur C.

As of today, we have expanded the functionality of the Shift+J and Shift+K keyboard shortcuts of After Effects 23.0 Beta (build 38).   You can now use Shift+J and Shift + K to navigate between keyframes or layer markers on a selected layer, ignoring keyframes and layer markers on unselected layers above and below.       You can also use Shift+J and Shift+K to navigate between keyframes on selected properties of a selected layer -- thus ignoring keyframes and layer markers on all unselected properties on your selected layer as well as those on unselected layers.     In the below example, we demonstrate both selection types in action. First, the user navigates between keyframes on the "Hair Bounce" layer. With the release of the Beta v23.x there is the ability to pickwhip track mattes now (which is awesome)However, when I copy pasted a selection of layers into a new comp with all sorts of track mattes, all of the layers came over in the correct order and were parented correctly (as expected), however nothing was linked anymore with track mattes.What's weird is when re-linking the track mattes, it did retain if it was an alpha or luma matte and if it was inverted or not.. so some of the information is retained while the physical link is broken.

Hello, I have AE comps imported to PR (2020, not beta) timeline and everytime I update and save any comp in AE, all the comps in the PR timeline will turn offline. My temporary solution is to relink the media.  Does anyone know hwo to fix this? Thanks.

I'm using the latest version of AE, Beta 2023.0.0. that was just released days ago. And while the selectable track mattes are amazing, one issue I've run into is that in the Speed Graph, when you stretch the speed handles to ease the speed, you see no discernable difference. The speed curve stays the same. After I extend the right keyframe's speed handle to have that Vox-like speed effect, the shape of the speed curve doesn't change at all. Is this normal or is it a bug? Has anyone else run into this issue or is there some new setting I'm not aware of? The curve also used to be on the top and is now on the bottom.

Hi, i am using the beta specifically for a project taking advantage of the new Track Matte feature as i have a ton of layers.Unfortunately, i just tried to parent 4-5 layers Track Matte to another layer with the pick whip for the track mattes but it only link the first selected layer. as opposed to normal parenting, which lets you parent all selected layers in one drag of the pick whip. This is a must as after pick whipping all my layers one by one, i realized i track matted it to the wrong layer, and had to do them all again, one - by - one.This would be a nice fix to have soon, Thanks! 🙂

Hi all!   I'm posting to let you know that we will update our system requirements with the next major release of our video applications. This includes the 23.0 versions of After Effects, Audition, Character Animator, Media Encoder, and Premiere Pro. We update our system requirements each year, which allows After Effects to take full advantage of these platforms and helps ensure optimal performance for you.    This change goes into effect with next week's Beta builds (week of August 22).    Minimum OS Requirements  To run After Effects Beta version 23.0, Mac users need to be on macOS Big Sur (version 11) or later. Windows users need to be on Windows 10 (64-bit) v20H2 (or later) or Windows 11.    We recommend running our applications on the latest operating systems:           macOS Monterey (version 12)            Windows 10 (64-bit) v21H2

Ctrl + Alt + Home is not working for the Center Anchor Point in Layer Content.I've tried changing out the shortcut to different keybinds but nothing seems to be working besides manually eyeballing it. Shapes seem to be the only thing that work with the shortcut but when it comes to masks, it no longer works. I've tested on solids, adjustment layers, footage, as well as nested compositions.

There is a bug happening on shutdown in AE 23.0 beta builds that might cause AE to crash on startup the next time you run AE. If that happens, please delete your beta preferences. You can do that by:   Windows: Navigate to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects (Beta) and deleting the 23.0 folder.  MacOS: Navigate to \Users\{username}\Library\Preferences\Adobe\After Effects (Beta) and deleting the 23.0 folder.    The preferences will be recreated on the next start up of After Effects. Please post back if you continue to have issues with AE startup after performing these steps.

Any idea what these are meant to do?  Also, when you initially open the dialog, the first control you click makes the Quality/Resolution/Frame Rate controls re-arrange themselves into a different order (Framerate moves to the top)

Simple as that. I tried to reinstall couple of times but nothing changed, AE wont open

Starting with Beta build 23.0x6, the Composition Presets list has been overhauled to make it easier to find the more commonly used presets. We have also removed the NTSC and PAL related presets and added a set of Social Media ones for networks such as Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, etc. The new list will be created the first time you install and run a 23.0 Beta build.   Migrating Existing Custom Presets This change of presets is a full replacement of the old preset list, and your existing custom presets will not be migrated over automatically. You can either rebuild and save any composition presets or migrate your existing presets manually using the following example as a guide.   I have a composition preset called “My Custom 1749x984 Preset” which I want to migrate.   Install and run After Effects 23.0x6 or above, then close After Effects to ensure the new composition presets list has been written to disk. Hello. Loving the beta for the past few weeks. But when I upgraded today, I could only get ram previews to work new projects. Old projects yield: "After Effects (Beta) error: Cached Preview needs 2 or more frames to playback" This seems to be a very old bug wich has resurfaced. I purged all, increased cache size, trashed prefs... Restarted. No luck. Same project/comps ram preview correctly when I launch 22.2.0... even when current and beta AE are launched concurrently. AE (beta) 22.3.0 build 90Apple M1 Max, 64 GB RAM, MacOs 12.2.1
