Audition

Opened up Audition from PP to edit out some noise in a video I am working on. Hello,I have Adobe CS6 installed on my Mac. A few days ago when I tried to start AA, pop-up windows appear:  "A previous Audition session quit unexpectedly. You can continue the session now, delete it or cancel it to continue the session at another time.I click the "Continue" button and another pop-up window appears: "Audition's primary temp volume cannot be found. Please Review Audition´s disk cache preferences" and then I can't continue.I already tried to reset using the Shift technique but the same initial pop up continues appearing.My Mac has the Majove operating system and I haven't had any problems until now. Do you recommend uninstalling and installing the program again?Thank you for your help

 I'm a novice to Audition but have put out a few podcasts and not had this trouble before. I'm using multitrack and edited/recorded everything onto it ready to export. Only the option to do so is greyed out on the menu. I've checked the dropdown boxes and all are set to 'Master' so that doesn't seem to be the issue. Not sure what to try now really. Any help would be much appreciated.   Thank you! 

Hello! I am editing a podcast with an audio file in the Host track and an audio file in the Interview track. When I started editing, everything was going fine, however, twenty minutes in, the Host track stopped playing audio, even though I can see the wave visuals -- the vertical bars do not move at all. When I click into the Host file's Waveform, I can hear the audio fine. When I play the Interview track in Multitrack, that file plays properly. I can even scroll back and play earlier audio from the Host track in Multitrack earlier in the clip and it's audible, but Audition will not play any audio in the Host track beyond this twenty minute marker. Thoughts? Ideas? I'm stumped. 

After saving my audition project as usual, I tried to open it and get the messageError: The file is either corrupt or using an unsupported formatXML FATAL ERROR: (line: 1, col: 1) [ (file directory).sesx] invalid document structureI have no idea what this means, I'm new to the whole adobe infrastructure. None of the audio files have been moved, and I don't know what a "document structure" is or what could have changed about it between previous drafts. Perhaps adding DeEsser and a Compressor? With previous versions I've sometimes had to link media upon opening it, but that seemed like random chance whether I had to or not.This is draft 21. Draft 20 has the same error code, while draft 19 has the error "unexpected end of input". Draft 18 works fine.Is there any way I can recover draft 21? A lot of progress has been made - draft 21 is basically the finished product.I'm using Audition CC 2018 on a MacThanksedit: I've just opened the .sesx files in a text editor. 21 and 20 are both blank. 1

the movie is a single person speaking in a small meeting room with walls..microphone is just a collar mic without sponge...(We might buy a better mic later..)will put on sponge help? I use Noise reduction 100% > Declicker (Default) > DeReverb 50%~60% > single band compressor or normalizer (to make sound louder)I can remove reverb on DeReverbBut after I use all the effect, there will be reverb on certain word, and an environment echo sounds like room.i need to put dereverb on certain word to get rid of the reverb there... the echo of room or maybe it is late reverb was not so significant befor I bring the volum loud...but I need to make it louder...what to do....... 

I have about 8 audio tracks and am mixing them down - I want to adjust reverb or other effects while playing back but when I change a setting there is a delay of about 5 seconds before it takes effect, why is this? I'm using a 3.4GHz Intel core i5 iMac with 8Gb RAM and plenty of spare disk space.

Hello everyone,Context: I recently started recording podcasts using a set up composed of a zoom H6 and 3 mics. The podcast consists of 3 persons talking together, sometimes overlapping, sometimes laughing at each other jokes but mainly answering to each other in a fast pace.Explanations: Tracks need to be cleaned of little noises, missed sentences, stuttering etc. I'm using the razor tool to remove non-wanted parts for 1 second or 2 every time. However, as the clean-up progresses, the tracks begin to lose synchronization and the questions and answers from the participants are no longer in rhythm at all.For example, I need to cut a lot of stuttering from Person A track. At the end of the mix, questions from Person A start at exactly the same time Person B is going to answer.My question is : How can I make a cut in all tracks at the same time to ensure that the tracks remain synchronized?I would like to be able to do that for all tracks at the same time and not for the three tracks separ

Dear Colin and Community, I am using Audition 12.1.3.10 (enterprise) through my school. For weeks, I have been using Effects > Noise Reduction/Restoration. This week, the Noise Reduction (process) window stopped appearing. I can capture a noise sample and I can apply the effect, but I can no longer make adjustments because the window that used to appear when I selected the entire track and chose Noise Reduction (process) has failed to appear. Here is a video of the screen capture. You'll witness that the effect works, but I cannot adjust any parameters because the Noise Reduction (process) window no longer appears. Please let me know how to revive the Noise Reduction (process) window so that I can preview and customize how to process my waveform. Thank you! Chris

Does anyone have experience using the Alesis MultiMix 4 USB with Audition?  I'd like to know if the multimix 4 USB works well with Audition.  We are installing some new equipment in an audio lab that will be used in an educational setting. Mostly for students to learn basic recording techniques, podcasting and basic audio editing.  

I'm editing a multi-cam sequence in Premiere and have everything how I want it in Premiere.  I open the project in Audition and choose the sequence and when it loads in Audition the audio that is playing is not what goes with the video.  The audio clips are in the right place on the timeline but the audio in the clip is from somewhere else in the clip and not the part that goes with the video.   Any help or ideas on where to even begin to look for the issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

There was no problem when opening an mp3 file as a player, but when the audition is opened, the first 1 second is cut off. Not all files are the same, but sometimes they come out one by one. Something comes out briefly at the beginning of a 3 second word and then plays back.   Add toI hope I can solve the problems in Korea.Even if you contact customer service, there is no solution, and you have to ask a foreign site in EnglishLeave a post in the translator to try somehow. Help me please~

Hi! I'm having some issues with Channel mixer and multitrack. I've got a mono file that I've converted to stereo (Edit > Convert Sample Type). I then amended Right/Left balance on some sections of the track with the Channel Mixer effect. It plays just fine as a separate track, I can hear the shifted R/L balance, but when added to the multitrack, the stereo file sounds like mono: the parts I've amended have an equal sound in both channels (though quieter). What am I doing wrong?Thanks   

Hello 🙂   I'm having issues all the sudden with audition not picking up my 3rd microphone... Its odd becuase I put it thought OBS software to go live on FB and it picks it up there but not in audition and ONLY the 3rd microphone... What could cause this?

I used to find this prompt quite useful when saving a session:“One or more media files used by this multi-track session are located outside of the session folder. Would you like to copy these media files to the session folder?”However, it's now a real bother because if I have only added one or two new files to the session and resave, it saves everything (all files in session), as if they were new causing loads of data to be synced each time I save, bogging down my network.Note, this only happens when working on a Windows 10 Home system, v1903.I have not had this problem on Macs.

Hello, I'm having a reoccuring problem with Audition. I've been recording a podcast using an external interface and a condensor mic. I've noticed multiple times now, as I listen through the playback after I'm finished recording, that the audio will periodically "glitch" and skip ahead a few seconds and I will lose those seconds altogether. I've had it happen 3 or 4 times now and I've tried a couple different things such as unplugging all other audio devices when recording and increasing latency (buffer) in Audition. I'm really not sure what the problem is here so any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I want to mix two songs together, but I'm unsure about how to do things like split parts, changing the key, and changing the tempo without distorting the audio. The two songs are almost already the exact same tempo, and there's just one chord in the chord progression that needs to be swapped around, so it shouldn't be that bad. Does anyone know a quick set of steps to do this?

Hi everybody. Can someone help me of how I can remove the vocals and the music instrumental only? I tried by using Audacity when I tried the tutorials on YouTube, but I can barely hear the vocals and the music is not crystal clear. Can someone help me of how to do it?

Hey there. I'm looking for a mobile recording setup for my two USB snowball blue microphones that doesn't involve a labtops. I was wondering if there is a piece of gear I can get that would allow me to record both mics to two different channels to SD card maybe then later import it and edit it later. Hi There!  I am using audition cc 2019 and have a suggestion on how to improve loudness matching. First: I love this feature a lot, in the waveform editor as well as in the multitrack version. I'm using 32 Bit recordings, so it would be great if you were able to disable the peak limiting in IBU 1770-3. What I mean, 32 Bit allows for over 0db audio, so you could alter the amplification at will. It's not necessary to limit peaks in 32 Bit at that stage, that can always be made afterwards.Example: A clip has -40 LUFS loudness, and your target is -23 LUFS. So you would amplify it by about 17 db. Assume the true peak before the matching is at -5dbfs, it would now be at 12dbfs. Which in 32 bit is not a problem at all. You can bring it down later, or edit the part manually or whatever. Second suggestion: Please make loudness matching also an effect that you can apply to a certain selection only. At the moment it only works a) for files or b) for clips in multitrack. I

Relating to Adobe Audition, if you have a piece of audio that has a voice talking, is there a way to remove a specific phrase? Or even a shape of a waveform? In a piece of audio, I would like to remove a distinct phase. I would also like to add a marker there if possible. I have been doing this manually. I simply can notice the waveform. However, I wondered if there is an easier way? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks
