25.1 UI Lag

Unfortunately we haven't been able to make any progress on this since we're unable to reproduce the problem in-house. Many of us here are using hardware similar to others in this thread (AMD Threadripper 3xxx with nVidia RTX 30x0 GPUs) and we're seen no problems. We're not giving up though - we definitely want to get to the bottom of this.

@S1Ber Is there any update on this? I understand these things take time as development has to fit so many hardware configs. I just want to know because I can't work from my main machine like this

Same issue with laggy UI with 25.1. No problem with 24.6.4

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

GPU: PowerColor RX 7900 XTX 

OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (x64) Build 22631.4890 (23H2)

RAM: 128GB 

Hi Simon, sorry to be a pain. It has randomly stopped crashing now (even though the crash was repeatable). However it's still got the UI lag issue. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful

That's very concerning. Would you mind submitting a crash report and send me a private message with the email address you use to submit the report? I'll be able to take a look at the crash and hopefully we'll be able to make some progress towards fixing this for you. Thanks

After Effects Engineering

@S1Ber Just updated this morning and the problem seems to have gotten worse. Now the program won't even open any projects without crashing. I also cannot open any existing programs.

I have the Same UI Lag Issues on my private Laptop (it es a very good one) an on my PC at Work (Not so good one).
I now installed the Old Version 25.0.1 and it works perfectly well. With Version 25.1 After Effects ist absolutly unusable for me.

We all have the same version of After Effects but different hardware. Most of them have M1 Macbooks or Intel i7 Surface Laptops. I'm the only one using AMD

@MilesPL, are any of your coworkers experiencing the same performance issues? Are they using the same version of After Effects? Is their hardware the same as yours?

Thank you for looking into this. It seems to still be the problem even if it's the only application I'm using. My RAM usage could be high or low and it still lags a lot. If I back-date to 2024 After Effects, it works fine again then, but this isn't an option for me since I pick up work from other co-workers
