Every time I try to import a file from adobe animate in to After effects 2024-2025 it remains stuck at 0 then displays the error message "an error occurred while importing this file . Please try again". I have tried every troubleshooting method possible and spoken to Adobe customer service, no luck. Please help.

Back to the issue - FLA Import to AE
    (I’m doing Adobe’s job here...)

@JohnColombo17100380 After digging through the issue I’ve discovered the issue and how to fix it:

It looks like After Effects 2025 has shipped with a plugin expecting and looking for Animate 2025, which doesn't exist OR NEVER SHIPPED  - Very interesting!

After examining the After Effects 2025 Animate Importer plugin I found this issue:

    1. AE Uses Vulcan IPC to communicate with Adobe Animate

    2. It calls `GetAppVersion()` to check the running Animate application version

    3. Expects to find version 25.x (Animate 2025) - (Adobe Animate 2025? WHAT?)

    4. Finds version 24.x (Animate 2024)

    5. Version mismatch → IPC connection rejected → Import fails

**This is clearly an Adobe bug**
So to recap - After Effects 2025 has shipped with a plugin expecting a 2025 version of Animate that at this moment doesn't exist.

You’re welcome ADOBE. Please fix this issue.

Any news of the mac isuue?

I've talked to the Animate team. The issue is restricted to MacOS, FLA import seems to still work on Windows. They are identifying the break and working on a fix.

Definitely, I guess you've never used it?

I think Animate has a great future, they just need to embrace a better selection of export formats - its getting a bit limited.
Native animated SVG and Interactive SVG support is curiously missing. (Keyshape is eating Adobe's lunch here)

    Alternatively roll Animate into AE

It still remains the cornerstone of our vector animation workflow. It's awesome.

Granted the app still has a horrible random crash bug which has been present for ages.
Fortunately it now does an auto save allowing you to recover somewhere close to where you last were.
