Can't rename video files after previewing

Hi, currently experiencing an issue where after previewing a video file in Adobe Bridge in any way, whether that be through the preview panel or hovering your mouse over the file, it no longer allows me to rename it.

Trying to rename normally (right clicking and clicking rename) comes up with the error "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." Attempting to rename with batch rename does nothing; the files just keep their original names, and no error pops up.

Closing the preview panel prevents it from doing this; however, even hovering my mouse over the file to skim through the video causes this issue as well. If I manage to right click the file and click rename or batch rename before the thumbnail begins to scroll through the video, then there or no issues and I can rename just fine.

I am running the current version of Bridge on Windows 11 and have tried reinstalling, rebooting, and clearing preferences/cache. Any help appreciated.

Bridge would have to be specifically built to let go of previewed video files while they're being renamed, it doesn't, so you get the error. Send a feature request through the help menu by all means, but this is just how the program behaves.

For a player that can rename files while a video is paused, I'd suggest PotPlayer.
