Painted strokes disappearing- even after saving

I have discovered this twice today after many hours of painting several lines across my spaceship model to create panel lines. It will seem as though everything is working fine, but at a certain point I will realize that detail I have added will just disappear. I save often, and the lines will still be present after saving- I'm not sure when it is happening or what is causing this work to disappear. I did not reimport model at any point- it was imported when I originally created the Painter file. For the layer, I am using a fill layer with a black mask and painting the lines as white lines to the mask, rather than painting in a regular layer. My next step will be to just use a regular layer, which may or may not fix the issue. The model has a fairly large set of UDIMs (41 total). Is Painter just unable to handle that many UDIMs (sized at 4k)? Or has anyone else experienced this before and found what might be causing it?

Whenever I press ctrl Z to undo a paint stroke. It undoes all my paint strokes. Then if I press ctrl Y to redo them, it only brings back the latest stroke. Thus permanently deleting everything I have done.

This is unfortunately a bug. We're currently working on a fix.

I'm merging this thread with the already existing one on the same topic.

Unfortunately, I don't have any ETA to share, but from discussions with the team, the fix should be in the next minor release.

I'm having the same issue with masks breaking.  I thougt it was related to having the project updated to 11.0.  Hand painted masks breaking, just like you.  I also noticed one instance of undo rolling back many strokes worth of work, as well as the way the strokes are missing from my model seems to mirror the order in which they were applied.  Different UDIMs look like they have different temporal versions of the mask.  My only solution was to roll back to 10.1.2.  I did not ask for this update, I never update in the middle of a project.

It happens even when I hide and unhide a different material or erase a stroke on a different layer. Ctrl-z also seems to often erase multiple strokes and there is no way to revert them afterwards.

I have the same problem. Is there any way to avoid this bug? I just wasted hours of work...

This is great news. Is there a date scheduled for the update that will contain the fix? As far as my file is concerned, as I. mentioned before, its big- a half a gig. I don't think any email is going to accept a file that big.
