Hi, I just installed LR 4.4RC, uninstalled it (due to a rendering bug for 32 bpc tif files), and reinstalled LR 4.3. LR4.4RC did render my 32bpc file very ugly. So now in LR4.3 back I go to Library -> Previews -> Discard and discard the preview. Then I to to Library -> Previews -> Render and render it again. But ... LR 4.3 shows the old and ugly preview of LR4.4RC. When I go to the develop module in LR 4.3, all looks fine. When I go back to the library module, LR 4.3 shows still the wrong ugly rendering. For screenshots, see https://dl.dropbox.com/u/23843309/Dis.... Please fix this. Thanks. Best regards Manfred Schneider
Hi I have 6 jpeg files that cause problems for Lightroom. They all have the following characteristics. 1) They can be read by Lightroom (added to a catalog) 2) They can be read by Photoshop CS5, exiftool, and ImageVerifier (http://www.imageingester.com) without any problems 3) I cannot save metadata into these files using LR 3 for Macintosh. Upon Saving Metadata I get the exclamation point showing a metadata sync error. Lightroom says "There were unknown errors while writing metadata..." The files were all written by a Minolta camera (that I no longer have), and have been modified by having tags added to them by exiftool (recent command line version, running on Macintosh). I have archived these files. If you would like to look at them, contact me and I can send them to you. The files are not causing problems for me, as I have opened them in Photoshop CS 5 and saved them as fresh copies, which cause no problems for Lightroom now.
Trying to reset a photo to Adobe defaults (Shift key + Reset button) causes the following error: ...and the photo is not reset. Seems to happen for all kind of images, Canon CR2, JPEGs, ... etc. Normal reset seems to work OK.
In LR5, when a photo using Process 2003 is selected, the Post-Crop Vignette Style is instantly changed to "Paint Overlay." It's not possible to undo past this step using Ctrl-Z or Edit > Undo. If more than one step past this Vignette Style change is selected under History, those steps end up being deleted with no option to undo the deletion. For Process 2003, the "Highlight Priority" and "Color Priority" options are no longer available for Post-Crop Vignette Style.
Problem exporting to email in LR4 using Microsoft Outlook. I use Outlook 2010 for email on my Windows 7 64-bit computer. When I export images to email using Lightroom 4.0, the email is sent and it does reach the recipient, but THE EMAIL NEVER APPEARS IN OUTLOOK'S "SENT ITEMS" FOLDER. I depend on Outlook to keep track of correspondence with clients. Because of this problem, I have no record of the email containing the exported images. How doe I fix this? Alan
I imported about 100 photos into Lightroom 4. I then ranked each photo and permanently deleted about 8 photos. I selected all the photos then renamed them to get the numbers correct. Then I started applying keywords. I'm not exactly sure what I did next, perhaps I double clicked on a photo, but then I realized that one photo was rotated, and one of the photos I was about to keyword was missing. Also three of the photos had duplicates. I couldn't have done those changes so fast if I had wanted to.
As described in the title. I just upgraded to Lightroom 5.0 and i have this weird problem. The exported image image results having a lot of Luminance and color noise when i use the resize module for exporting. If I export at full res there is no problem at all. The setting that is giving me the problem is 1600px for the longer edge. If i select 3000px the image is exported correctly Here you can see an example of a section of a photo comparing the problematic export with the correct one
There is no way for a plugin to accurately determine the current source. If the current source is All Photographs, Quick Collection, or Previous Import, the method catalog:getActiveSources() returns the empty table {}, but it should return catalog.kAllPhotos, .kQuickCollectionIdentifier, or .kPreviousImport.
Lightroom 4.3 final (on Windows 7 64bit, with an ATI Radeon HD5450, latest Catalyst 12.10 drivers) gives me some really weird rendering issues in the Develop module that were not present in the RC ("beta 6"). As long as I hover over the knob of a slider after making an adjustment, the image is not properly updated/refined and stays in an unrefined/pixelized state. This happens with ALL sliders in all sections of the Develop module. It was working in LR 4.2 and LR 4.3RC. What's more, when I use the local adjustment brush, I see a MUCH larger area than the size of the brush affected initially as I add a brush stroke; only when I release the mouse button the adjustment is rendered correctly. Again, this too was working in LR 4.2 and LR 4.3RC. Things I have tried: update/revert the graphics drivers (I tried a total of FOUR different driver versions). Update/revert the mouse driver. Delete the ACR cache. Start with a fresh catalog and no plugins, just adding something like 100 photos. Nothi
When scrolling through images in loupe view, using the mousewheel, scrolling / navigation stops when you get to a video file, and it is not possible to scroll in any direction Navigating past the video with arrow keys works fine, and mousewheel scrolling is then usable again (until next video file)I suspect it is related to the new "integrated" video player, since I never had this problem with Lightroom 3.xBug exists on both Windows and Mac, using Lightroom 4.1
Hello! Choose a non-cropped image. In the lens correction panel click “Manual”. Now put e.g. the vertical correction to -50 (just to illustrate the problem). Activate “Constrain crop” in order to exclude the grey corners. Now select the Crop Overlay tool. In the top, you see enough space where the crop could be shifted to. Try it. It won’t work (- unless you disactivate “Constrain crop” again). Yet, to my mind, an activated “Constrain crop” function should allow to move the crop freely within the new (= lens corrected) borders.
Transfering a catalog from Windows to OSX fails to convert HD Publish services to a proper target destination and provides no mechanism to correct the Export folder location. Moving a catalog from windows to OSX will permit the user to Find Missing folders for master images listed in the Folder panel. No similar mechanism exists for HD publish Services. A simple fix would be to permit the user to correct the column remoteCollectionId FROM "AgLibraryPublishedCollection" from a Drive letter designated folder path to an equivalent OSX folder path. This is not possible inside Lightroom.
I can not send images from LR4 to any external editor via Photo>Edit In. My system is Mac OS 10.7.3. Using the Edit In command fails to open the external editor and no error message results. This occurs whether the images have the 2012 Process Version applied or not. My external editors are primarily PSE10 and Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.0. This is an important part of my workflow. I have reinstalled PSE10 and updated to the newest version of Silver Efex Pro.
Hi! I’ve made my first book with the integrated book module in Lightroom in order to print it with Blurb. Started with LR 4.1, I've tried to solve upgrading to 4.2, but the problem remains. In the visualization all works fine, i’ve added graphics as background in some pages and the orientation follows the page numbering correctly (for example, the side decoration appear on the left of even pages and on the right of the odd ones). But when I export my book in PDF for a preview, all the backgrounds go crazy. I’ve noticed that this happen after each double page, as if the program count them as single. After the first double page, decorations switch from left to right and viceversa, after the second double page all return ok, after the third it’s switched again, and so on. In the screenshot you can see an example of the problem, taken after the first double page. I've resolved transforming graphic background into images.. but it's not a real solution...
I was checking the various options of publish services, including Flickr, and then I got an error strange message (but unfortunately I didn't write it down). Now, the Flickr service doesn't show the collections (there were previously two, one of which was the default photostream). The little triangle for expanding and collapsing is there and it rotates when I click it, but the collections are no longer there. My other publish services (SmugMug) are fine and I can see all the collections there. I tried restoring my Lightroom preferences directory from my last backup (with Lightroom closed, of course) and this had no effect. How can I fix this? If I knew where the Flickr publish service stored its information, perhaps I could fix this.
There seems to be an issue with blurry thumbnails/2nd monitor loupe display in develop module after upgrading to LR4.2 from LR4.1 Library Thumbnail Develop Thumbnail More Discussion in topic on Lightroom Discussions Area : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/107598...Note: This topic was created from a reply on the LR 4.2 displaying blurry grid images when in "import" topic.
Hi, Experiencing a problem (bug) that started showing up in 4.2 and I have been told remains in 4.3 concerning merging stacks. Here is the scenario: 1) In Library Module, Grid view, I have several stacks all of which are collapsed. For the sake of argument, let's say one has 3 images and another has 4 2) Now, I want to merge the 3 stack into the 4 stack with the top image of the 4 stack being the top image of the new 7 stack. 3) I Select both the 3 stack and the 4 stack, making the 4 stack the active stack (brightest canvas) 4) Press Ctrl+G to "merge selected images into stack" - in this case the selected images are the two collapsed stacks 5) This folds the 3 stack into the 4 stack as it should 6) in the old days of LR (prior to 4.2) LR would then show 1 thumbnail representing the new 7 stack with the number 7 on it as it's stack count. In the new days of LR 4.2, instead you see all 7 images in the grid, with all 7 of them having the number 7 on them as the stack count. In other words
I was using Lightroom 4.3 but discovered that the slideshow module would not load with two monitors in use. I rolled back to 4.2 and the problem is remedied. I would like to be able to use Lightroom 4.4 with two monitors (OSX 10.8.2) and extend the first monitor to the second. Thanks.
I have not been able to backup my catalog in Lightroom 4 since upgrading two days ago. I did not have this problem with 4 beta. It runs through checking integrity, backing up, and optimizing, and then I get a message that it was unsuccessful and to make sure I have enough space and check directory permissions. There is plenty of space, and I have tried to create it to two different drives without success. I am using the 32-bit version with Windows 7. The size of my catalog is 1.7 GB and includes my previous LR3 and LR4 beta catalogs. Thanks.
I've posted ad nauseum about the sftp bug that affects 99% of us that try to use sftp to upload web galleries from our 64-bit Windows version of LR 3.x. I tested 3.5RC and it too has the bug (crash at 50% progress, like clock work). I saw a comment from DT in another forum thread that said the proposed fix was basically too invasive to introduce into 3.x. Can someone from Adobe please confirm or deny that statement? If true, I'll stop testing all subsequent 3.x releases and wait for 4.x. Thanks!
LR4 closes suddenly when I want to use the adjustment brush. I am not running other programs at the same time and I am using a brand new Mac. I did not have this problem with LR3. What can I do to fix the problem
With LR 4.1 RC, the Flickr publisher seems to be broken. I added 2 new photos to a collection today after updating to the 4.1 RC, and tried to publish, but I get an error message: "Can't update this collection. An internal error has occurred: Invalid at the top level of the document." Publishing the same collection (without the 2 new images) worked fine yesterday in 4.0 before the RC update. Closing and re-starting LR did not solve the issue. Running Vista x64 SP2 with all updates and 64-bit LR installed.
I found a problem when I tried to re-run an import when I am renaming my image files and I also have "Make A Second Copy" enabled. I was making and testing a new import preset in a test catalog and I made a mistake in the destination. So I removed all the images from the catalog, deleted them from the disk and removed the now empty folders. After I corrected my import preset I reran the import with the source as the same input card. This time the import proceeded almost to the end but then displayed an error dialog saying LR could not rename any of the images it just added to the catalog. I click continue and go to the Previous Import in Grid view Everything is pretty messed up at this point. All the thumbnails in the Grid have the original name from the camera. (IMG_2449.CR2) and the missing file question mark badge. The image files in the Library folder are the correctly renamed files (sherwin_20121015.cr2) and the backup copy folder (Imported on November 9, 2012) has one of each. It
Lightroom 4.1RC 64bit won't import video. I tried different video formats. What's wrong?
In Lr 3.6 there still exists the problem in the Print module whereby the programme will only output at 72ppi resolution despite setting it to any other output resolution.
