P: Lightroom Desktop Keeps saying 'Unable to Connect to Network'

Trying to switch to Lightroom CC but I keep getting 'Unable to Connect to Network' in sync status. If I restart the application it might work for 50-60 photos and then returns to this error message. I'm trying to sync ~12K mobile photos before another 40K RAW images so obviously need to be able to let this run in the background and over night. Have tried restarting the computer as well to no luck.

Any other suggestions on what I can try?

Well I uninstalled Lightroom, removed preferences and everything, reinstalled and didn't even choose to save originals locally, and I'm still getting the error. I thought it was only if you tried to save originals to external locations, but somehow I'm still getting the error.

Unable to connect to network. Mac is up to date and so is Lightroom CC. I am at the point where it is time to find new software. Three hours and have not been able to work on 10 pictures.

Phew Adobe, at least we got a new splash screen (which also fits very good to the offered dark mode), I was worried for a bit you don't take those issues here seriously.

Thanks Martin I may try that. Losing settings - does that mean LR has to relink all photos in the cloud with the network location you point it at when you first open it as new again? I'm assuming the entire library gets rebuilt?

As an update, i uninstalled my desktop lightroom (and chose the option to NOT retain settings etc).  After reinstalling, This seemed to resolve the issue, and i have a number of files with sync error, but this isn't preventing ongoing syncronisation.

Is there any update on this?  Recent comments have been relating to NAS , however i'm using an external drive connected via USB-C; and lightroom on my desktop is unusable, as it simply hangs whilst trying to sync....

So..., let me say the iSCSI way with globalSAN initiator works. My lightroom is connected and is currently downloading all images. Let's see the next days and weeks, but for now it looks very good.

Who thinks, if Adobe will present a solution?

There is an article how to use a network drive/volume with Lightroom. It’s about iSCSI. It’s German but maybe it helps you.

@Rikk Why doesn’t Adobe help with this kind of solution?
