P: LR iOS batch export gets stuck

Is anyone experiencing download issues currently? The process begins to download and then arrives at a point about a quarter way of the downloads then seems to start freezing up. If I go individually through each picture it allows for the download but as a group I'm having issues. Anyone know what it is causing it?

I have the same issue on iPad Pro M1 and M4:

images are DNG files from Leica M10, M10 Monochrome, and Q.

Ever since Lightroom uses the terminology "rendering" when exporting images it's been super slow. Exporting 50 images now takes 15 minutes. If it finishes at all, often it gets stuck on any random number of image no matter how long you wait.

So 2 complaints:

its completely broken and often doesn't export at all.

its incredibly slow every since Lightroom uses the term "rendering, this may take a while".

Its absolutely shameful to release software this buggy to paying customers. Its barely usable right now.

I’ve encountered significant performance issues using Lightroom on my iPad Pro (M4, 11") when working with 60MP DNG files from my Leica M11.

To maintain a reasonable editing workflow, I’ve resorted to pausing sync before downloading images from my SD card. This allows me to complete edits without extreme delays. However, once images are synced, editing slows down drastically—functions often become unresponsive, and in many cases, the app stalls entirely.

As a temporary workaround, I’ve started restarting Lightroom every time I need to edit a synced image. This means restarting the app for every single image, which is incredibly frustrating.

Thanks to a suggestion in this support thread, I’ve learned I can batch save images to my device as JPEGs, but only after performing a full restart on the iPad.

These issues only began after a recent update about a month ago. Previously, I had no trouble editing these files, even at their large size.

As a daily user of Lightroom, this has significantly impacted my workflow, forcing me to consider alternative solutions. I implore Adobe to address this issue promptly—this is not sustainable for professionals who rely on your software.

Thank you for your attention.

Mine won't even allow 1 photo sometimes, I have to turn the tablet off then on and hope it will then.  It's hit and miss

Same issue over here, really annoying: using "Export as", it starts rendering, it sometimes throws a warning (and then restarts rendering), sometimes it closes the app completly.

I think it has something tondo with the ammount of photos selected for export (batches of 20 photos are not a problem, 140 photos at once are very painfull).

I use Lightroom on an iPad Pro M2.

When im done editing raw files and i try to export them, for some reason some photos just get stuck at "rendering - this may take a while". I tried reinstalling the app, re syncing all photos, creating a new album then saving it locally and then exporting all photos in the album, but nothing fixed the issue. Export still get stuck here. Can someone help please?

this bug makes Lightroom iPad unuseable.

im on ipadOS 18.1 with the latest version of Lightroom from AppStore

Did you made the export on a collection which was available offline? (Or you were sure all images were downloaded already?).

AI masks on the pictures?

I've had this bug only once, I've been trying quite a few things to replicate to provide more info, but I can't figure out how to get it again.

Turning the iPad off completely and then restarting it seems to allow me one large batch. Although it seems lately I've been able to close Lightroom and restart it to do small 10 to 20 files. Hope that helps a bit.

I’ve been facing issues with Adobe Lightroom on my iPad Pro since the update about a month ago. Previously, I could export batches of 40 images as JPEGs by downloading to device without any problems. Now, I’m lucky if I can export 8 images at a time. Even then, the process often stalls, and I end up having to export images one by one. This has significantly slowed down my workflow.

I’m working with RAW DNG files from a Leica M11-P. My setup includes Lightroom version 10.0.2 (build 340050/173) on an iPad Pro M4 running iOS 18.1.

Has anyone else experienced this problem since the update? Are there any fixes or workarounds to improve batch exporting? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for reaching out to the Adobe Community!

Please share the version of Lightroom you're using on the iPad and the iPadOS you're running on it. When did you start experiencing this behavior? Which file format are the images in?
