Try to do:  • File---->Export---->Layers to Files •  so at least you can save each layer separately. Thas was the only saving option that Beta allowed me to do.  Then I forced "shut down" of the mac and when I turned it back on I had the full file saved as a "recovered file".

Hi, I have had this happen several times where I might need to either restart Photoshop (Beta) or close the file and reopen in 2023 to export artboards for digital ads. Fil > Export > Export As... Window will open but clicking the export button does nothing. It does not respond at all. A restart of the app sometimes will resolve the issue. It's happened enough times that I feel it's important to bring up.

MacBook Pro, Ventura 13.4.1, Apple M1 Max

I do not have a photo or video example and will follow up with one when it happens again. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

P.s. I love Generative fill, well done on that. I'd be using this Beta version 100% of the time if I didn't need 2023 to come to my rescue from time to time 🙂 Also, the pinning of the floating tool bar for the selected tool resolved my biggest complaint with that feature, maybe I just found it or maybe it's a new add but just wanted to say thanks for that.

Hi community! Here's an update for you all on this issue and a workaround to resolve!

Current issue: On MacOS, in some rare cases Photoshop will update while it is open. When this happens, saving to the local file system or opening a file may fail. When choosing save or open, no file dialog is shown. However saving to the Creative Cloud is not affected.

If this happens, please do the following:
Save each of your open documents temporarily to Creative Cloud:

1. Change the default save location to cloud: Go to Settings > File Handling

2. Change "Default File Location" to Creative Cloud

3. For each open document: Duplicate the document by selecting Image > Duplicate

4. For each open document: go to File > Save. This will save to Creative Cloud.

5. Once all documents are saved, relaunch Photoshop

6. You should now be able to do File > Save As

7. Be sure to change your settings back to saving files to your computer in Settings > File Handling:

Did this work for you? Let us know in the thread!

I've been trying to export a file, I get the click response fro mthe UI, but no dialog boxes open up (as they should). I tried quick exporting as PNG, Save as, Save for web, but nada- nothing works.

I'm taking screenshots fro now, byt I can't even Save my file. WTF
And yes, I'm on a verified paid plan.

This is the second time I encounter this issue. The first image was not as important as this one that took hours and hours to create. When I try to do the final "save" or "save as" or "save as a copy", it does not allow me to save it. No warning comes up, just the little colorful wheel and then nothing! I've tried to create a small image to see if the size made the difference and nothing! I even tried to close the image without saving it and using that SAVE warning before closing, but nothing. The only way I was able to proceed in the past was to close the image wihtout saving and restart the program. But with this image there is no way I can lose so many hours of work! I even thaught there is a "time limit" usage on Beta because it always happens after hours of using it and in the late evenings!!!  I tried to follow the tutorials published online but they all require losing the image and restarting the program or updating it (I always do updates anyways). I'm stuck and logically not prone to use Beta if the issue is not resolved.

I will send you an email to screen share. I am hoping I can save the work I created.

Hello everyone!

We need your help to further investigate this issue and would like to collect more information. Please see these steps below if you are a MacOS, PS Beta user and not able to see a save dialog:

(If you would rather screenshare and get help to do this, please message or email me at (removed).

  1. Update to today's Adobe Photoshop (Beta) version:
  • Update Adobe Photoshop (Beta) to the latest available version.
  • Quit Adobe Photoshop (Beta) if it is launched.

  1. Enable logging:
  • Launch Finder or select a Finder window.
  • Select menu item 'Go->Go to Folder...'.
  • Paste the following in the 'Go to Folder' field:

~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings

  • Observe that the Finder window starts displaying the contents of Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings folder.
  • Add (copy/paste, drag and drop) this txt file pslogSettings.txt in this folder.

  1. Reproduce the issue:
  • Launch Adobe Photoshop (Beta). If it was already launched, quit and re-launch.
  • Perform the steps through which the original issue occurs.

  1. Collect and send the log file(s):
  • Select a Finder window and select menu item 'Go->Go to Folder...'.
  • Copy the following location in the 'Go to Folder' field:

~/Library/Logs/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop (Beta)

  • The folder should now contain a log file (or multiple log files) starting with pslog_. For example: pslog_20230824_153946.log.
  • Email log file(s) to (removed)

  1. Cleanup:
  • Delete these pslog_ files from the above location.
  • Select a Finder window if not already selected.
  • Select menu item 'Go->Go to Folder...'.
  • Copy the following location in the 'Go to Folder' field:

~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings

  • Delete the file pslogSettings.txt file.

I was working on editing a receipt, but was unable to save the file before closing Photoshop Beta to re-start.
