P: "Adobe Community Help" keeps popping open (Windows)

Adobe Community Help keeps popping open when working within Adobe Photoshop CS5. I'm not sure if I'm doing some sort of shortcut that causes it to open, but sometimes (maybe once instance, during a 40hr week) Adobe Community Help will open in a Window while I am doing stuff in Adobe Photoshop CS5.

I'm not sure what causes it, but I'll close the Community Help window, and then continue working in Photoshop, and it will open again. Only way to keep it from opening back up again is to close and restart Photoshop. This has happened to me on my home PC as well, and in previous versions of Photoshop, if I remember correctly. I am using Windows 7 now, but I think I've had this happen on XP too.

Is it because there are updates available? Is it because I'm doing some sort of weird shortcut that I don't know about?

An example: I was transforming an object (using the mouse, clicking, using shift button while moving the cursor, using the space bar while panning, etc.) It just opened again. Guess it's time to restart Photoshop...

There has been an issue since PSCS3, when opening Blending Modes the Help centre is launched. With PSCS3 it would go into a loop when trying to close the Help Centre which resulted in having to do a reboot of my PC.
PSCS5 has given a similar problem, but I have todate been able to close the Help centre window.

just to pitch in my 2cents, I've never had this issue happening to me before until cs5. I've tried pretty much everything, unbinding help, disabling any help options i can just so that when it does pop up it pops up faster so i can close it faster....

It's a VERY frustrating bug and happens to me on a daily basis.

It happens to me on multiple workstations, all on win 7 64bit, intel i7, another is amd phenom2

I'm also having this problem (as of today). No problems what so ever. Last night a Windows update was installed, now the problem occurs.

Examples: Opening a file --> Adobe Community Help. Writing text with typetool --> Adobe Community help. Marking text with text tool --> Adobe Community Help.

Very annoying indeed.

CS5 x64, 8gb, radeon 6850, core i7. I have two separate machines with nearly identical specs, a Dell XPS w/ Win7 Enterprise and a home machine with Win7 Ultimate. This bug occurs at the same frequency on both machines.

This happens consistently after a few hours of heavy lifting - large web/UI docs with many layers and hundreds of effects.

99% of time it's triggered while I'm actually adjusting layer styles. Once it starts, it usually won't stop until PS crashes, though occasionally it recovers (after closing a couple dozen help windows).

I've noticed that the help window is often accompanied with a prompt to update either Air or Help, though that's probably just coincidence.

hi,
this happens to me frequently in CS4.And it already happened before in CS2.
I have no idea why, but every now and then when I open my colorpicker- or layer-effects window it automatically opens an adobe-help page in my browser.

Unsubscribing from this nonsense as I can see no solution anytime soon. Hopefully Photoshop doesn't go the way of Flash.

"100 repeatable" sounds hopeful, but unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce the problem with the steps you listed. Perhaps more detail about the image format, options in the Size dialog, etc. would be helpful.

The only way I could get the Community Help to show here was to press F1 where you suggest "either by clicking outside the box or 'Enter'".

But having a set of steps to reproduce the problem could be valuable, in that after changes you should easily be able to check to see whether you have solved it.

After changing the Community Help to open in a browser instead, I still have this problem. I was changing a color with the picker, and all of a sudden two tabs opened in my default browser (Chrome).

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshop... That is the URL that opened.
