P: Can't cmd+tab to web browser (Chrome ver: 16.0.912.75) from CS6 (OSX/10.6.8)

When cmd+tabbing between Photoshop CS6 and Google Chrome, Photoshop document windows remain visual on top (but inactive). The web browser window is called up over other applications, but remains behind Photoshop. The problem seems to only happen when switching to Chrome.

Photoshop ver 13.0.1
Mac OSX ver. 10.6.8
Chrome ver: 16.0.912.75

Version 47.0.2526.111 (64-bit) (Chrome)
Adobe Photoshop Version: 2015.1.2
OS X 10.11.3

I have the same problem, no fix yet? I work with both daily and this is frustrating.

Yeah. +1 to this happening in both chrome and finder (don't have office suite so can't test).

Hey Adobe, hello Chris,

its so irritating that no one of you is saying something.

Would you please give us customers a sign, just a short update, if anyone is working on a fix?

Cheers Malte

Sadly, this is my current work around when CMD TAB fails, just make the Photoshop Window narrower and click in the chrome window 😞

I'm experiencing this as well.  Frustrating.

Workarounds that I have found.  After pressing Command + Tab from Photoshop to Chrome, Chrome window will be active but hidden, leaving an inactive Photoshop window on the forefront but the Chrome menu in the upper left.

1) Press Command + ` will bring up a Chrome window.  If you have multiple Chrome windows open, it may not be your most recent, but continuing to press Command + ` will cycle through your Chrome windows.
2) Press Command + Tab again (a second time), but this time hold Command down.  You can click on the Chrome icon (should be first in line of your active programs, since it's technically the active program).  Clicking the Chrome icon will bring Chome up, and it will be your most recently used window.

Same issue here.. not happening when I turned off Application Frame mode in Photoshop.

Yes, it happens between Photoshop and the old Office 2011 applications. So its obviously not an isolated chrome bug.

I've just noticed this bug also happens when switching between Photoshop and Excel too

Hey Chris, is this for real? You work on the CMD TAB Bug?

I had hopes that todays OS X 10.11.4 brings a fix, but since that didnt happen, all my hope is now in you!

Just to corroborate that this is still a bug (not to throw cold water on Jussi's workaround, which I wish I could replicate)—I, for one, regrettably, couldn't get the different-desktop-spaces trick to work. I put Chrome (49.0.2623.87) on Dekstop 1 and PS on Desktop 2, but I could only then cmd+tab from 1 --> 2; trying to cmd+tab from PS (Desktop 2) back to *anything* on Desktop 1 revealed the bug. (i.e., "Chrome" [or "Calculator" or "Tweetbot" or etc.] would appear in the OSX menu bar, but PS would still be the only application in visible focus, and I'd appear to stay in Desktop 2. No other app's windows would come to the foreground.)

Suffice it to say: this is still an incredibly, productivity-killingly persistent bug.
