P: Convert to Video Timeline option missing - Apple M1 devices

I am not able to select anything but "Create Frame Animation" in the Timeline. I am trying to create a Video Timeline, but not using Frame animation. This option isn't in the bottom left or top right of the Timeline menu.

I have tried resetting my preferences, uninstalling and re-installing, creating a new document, and converting all layers to smart objects, and none of those have worked. I have a macbook pro with macOS Big Sur version 11.2.3 with an Apple M1 chip.

Thank you for the help!

hello, I can no longer work on an animation project that I had started on photoshop in its 2020 version.
When I go back to my file, the videos are marked with a question mark, they are no more than still images and it is impossible to launch the video.
I know Photoshop is not animation software but I was using it for good reasons ...

Can anyone tell me why I can't work on videos with photoshop?

Hello, according to https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-for-apple-silicon.html you need to run Photoshop in Rosetta mode, for the moment.

So I have Photoshop 2022, version 23.0.0. on my Apple MacBook Pro.

This is updated by Creative Cloud.

Normally when I didn't have the option to export my frames as a video, I could run Photoshop in Rosetta to fix that. I don't. have that option anymore, or at least not where I was supossed to do that.

How can I export my frames as a video so I can make a stop motion?

"Import, Export, and playback of embedded video layers" is still not available in native mode.

It looks like you've chosen the folder of Photoshop in that first screenshot. You need to open the info window for Photoshop's actual app file.

Ho installato PS sia su MacBook Pro, sia su iMac 2021. Su quest'ultimo è scomparso il filtro "Riduzione Effetto Mosso" (allegato screenshot)

Versione PS 23.0

Versione OS su MacBook e iMac 11.6
Grazie per l'aiuto

Are you on an M1 processor Mac?

I have a macMini MacOs Monterey 12.0.1 Chip Apple M1 and a Photoshop version 2021 and 2022 doesn't allow exporting video (file - export - render video). This function is only available in the Intel processor version.

Has Import > Video Frames to Layers been removed in Photoshop 23? Or is there an alternative?

Trying to make gifs!

I have discovered that to edit video clips using Photoshop 23.0 on an Apple Silicon M1 machine, the program must be opened in "Intel" mode using Rosetta 2.  I had hoped this new version would have enabled video editing functions under the native Apple Silicon mode.  Photoshop runs very fast under native mode compared to "Intel" mode under Rosetta 2.  Does anyone know when native video editing capabilities will be available for Apple Silicon users?

I had this same issue and Adobe gave me this answer (screenshot below) and it worked perfectly 🙂 So, yeah, opening with Rosetta seems to be the only work-around!

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-for-apple-silicon.html Video has not been updated to run natively on M1 devices. You can run Photoshop in Rosetta to use video on an M1 Mac.
