P: Crash on using Select Subject or Object Selection Tool on Windows

Just got the new update for Photoshop v23.0. I cannot use the object seletion tool anymore without Photoshop crashing after a few steps.

    Same story here. Select the Object select tool click on pic to edit -black screen and restart 3 times in a row. Searched the web and had to filter Browser to current year to get latest dialogue on this problem, it goes back years.

      Hi, I'll be glad to submit crash report but need instructions on how to do that. When these crashes happen, the system isn't asking me to send a report like it does on other things. It just goes black with fans on overdrive and won't cone back. So after a while I have to turn the machine off. It does make a recovery file. Alicia HeymanSent from Samsung tablet

      I have the same problem! When I get to the "Object Selection Tool" my PC crashes. Everything else, all other programs Premiere Pro, Illustrator, etc. work wonderfully. It's just that one function. Unfortunately I can't use it on my work computer. Few Details PC: ASUS APAX VI X299, 32GB Dominator RAM at 4Ghz, i9-7980XE...

      Hi @CShubert, unfortunately no. I can get to the Edit Toolbar screen by using the two column layout. I have tried restoring defaults, but as soon as I go back to the single colum toolbar, any tool below the eraser won't show it's pop out menu when you click and hold. Unless you hear of the same problem from someone else, I'll just write it down to being my machine and use it in two column mode. No biggie. Cheers.
