P: CS6 / CC Keyboard shortcuts not responding Mavericks/Yosemite MacOS 10.9; 10.10

I think lasso problem is the part of the whole problem with non-resolving shortcuts after some clicking, and yes, it is wacom's problem, intuos have it as well.

Anybody resolved lasso tool problem? It goes along with all other problems, but I figured that it's connected strictly to my cintiq. When I use mouse and lasso it works fine, so it must be Wacom drivers problem. Tried messing with pen seetings - no change..

According to the Adobe Mavericks compatibility page there are no major issues, bugs, or odd user experiences with Mavericks for Ps - yet this very obviously IS a mjor issue for more than a few people, it certainly qualifies as an odd user experience, and probably as a bug; yet there must also be an even bigger problem as further up this thread Adobe said they've had to leave this one for a more pressing problem. However that shouldn't relegate this problem to the insignificant - it isn't for those that have it. I really don't think it's helpful to prospective mac upgraders to be told there's no issues with Mavericks, that doesn't seem honest at all to me

Yeah - curious it only affected Photoshop though isn't it? The spacebar worked absolutely fine in every other program. But when I hopped back into Photoshop - still no spacebar. So a system level issue that targeted Photoshop for some reason.

The Font Book issue sounds poor Jerry. It might be worth going back to ML if you know a Mac Technician to help you do it. Just make sure everything is backed up before wiping the machine.

I'm considering doing a clean install this evening and getting over with. I'm pretty much all backed up (I've got three hard rives and put the most current projects on cs cloud). As long as I can install ML after erasing the drive, it shouldn't take too long to put PS, Wacom drivers etc all on a fresh hard drive.

I'll report back if I go through with it and hopefully everything will be all good.

The fact that you had to restart the machine means that something went wrong at a system level (otherwise restarting Photoshop would have cleared it). That could be an OS setting (like keyboard layout switching, Universal Access), a utility program (like font managers and antivirus), or another application (Chrome was eating keystrokes a few months back).

Yeah my new iMac came with ML but when I started it up for the first time it basically just said "Upgrade to Mavericks, it's great!" so I did. What I'm thinking of doing though is taking it to a specialist Mac technician I know locally and just getting him to re-install ML for me, if that's possible. And yes, Chris, don't do anything until it's all sorted. Incidentally this isn't the only appalling problem I've had with Mavericks - FontBook doesn't work at all and I've had to purchase Linotype FontExplorer X Pro in order to manage my fonts. And get this - even after deleting the FontBook plist file all my collections and preferences remained! All the Apple technician could say was "Oh my."

Thats unfortunate for you. I don't know what I would do in your situation. I'm guessing many people will be stuck with Mavericks on brand new machines with this frustrating problem.

My Mac came with Lion, but I'm assuming Mountain Lion can be installed without the previous version once I erase the HD. Interestingly, I just tried re-downloading ML from the app store, and all I'm getting is an error. The fun continues....

I was thinking about getting a new Mac this year, but I'll hold off until this bug issue is resolved.

I would rather have regressed to mountain Lion but unfortunately that is not an option with my new iMac so regressing Ps was my only option

This is new to me, not getting installation software as a backup with a new machine, but that is another issue

It's interesting you have a similar situation to mine (and others too).

Hopefully downgrading to cs5 will work ok for you, and at least you can get working without the bug.

My only option is to use version CC, so I have to either wait for a fix, or possibly go back to Mountain Lion. The problem for me right now is I'm fully in the midst of client projects with deadlines looming, so I don't really fancy wasting half a day reinstalling os x, Photoshop, brushes and Wacom Drivers etc.

Thanks for the suggestions too. The only thing on the list I have is one usb hub with a few external time machine back ups plugged in. Next time I restart my Mac, I'll unplug them just to try.

I do also use an Apple Wireless Keyboard and Trackpad (usually at the same time as using my Cintiq), but I have no issues with the keyboard in any other programs like Safari, pages etc.
