P: CS6 / CC Keyboard shortcuts not responding Mavericks/Yosemite MacOS 10.9; 10.10

We can sometimes reproduce the error, but not reliably.
We ruled out a bunch of possibilities for the cause within the Photoshop code (working with users who can reproduce it more often), but we still don't know exactly what is causing it.

We have been researching this, but have trouble reproducing the error repeatably (it seems really random).

I agree with other posters that this issue appears to be with Apple and Mavericks, not Adobe or Wacom. I upgraded from CS4 to CC without any issues. Only when I upgraded to Mavericks OS did the issue begin - and I have the same issues with Photoshop and Illustrator: keyboard commands that have been the same and worked for years now do not work. They works, sometimes, but mostly not - in either application.

I found two discussions here and have posted there. Maybe we should flood Apple with this as well and see if we can get some response and a resolution.

You're right. My brush resize just stopped working too. Oh well......

Doesn't work. As with all of the suggested fixes, it may resolve the issue temporarily but always stops working.

I have the same keyboard command issues in Illustrator as well.

If you read back through this forum you'll see a lot of response from David, Jeffery and Chris (we actually know them by name and we've seen them all over these forums for years). Adobe seems to be taking this seriously. In the Apple forums on the other hand, it's just users hashing it out by themselves.

I agree with giving Apple a good bashing. Following wacom's—er, occam's razor principal though, would't it make sense to consider that Maverick OS might the culprit rather than Adobe or Wacom? It seems that's the one constant here—that when we upgrade to Maverick our keyboard short cuts suddenly freeze whether we are using tablets or not. Maybe it's easier to complain to Adobe because there is actually someone here to complain to but we should also be making noise at Apple however futile it may seem.

I found only one query about this problem in the Apple forums with seven replies:

1) While in Photoshop, go to 'Keyboard Shortcuts' under the 'Edit' menu in the Mac's menu bar. The 'Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus' panel opens.

2) With the 'Keyboard Shortcuts' tab selected (as opposed to 'Menus'), double-click 'File' (has a triangle next to it) under the 'Application Menu Command' and select/highlight the 'Open...' command.

3) Without editing the key shortcut in any way, click the 'Accept' button to the right. Then 'Okay' to close the panel. This successfully reinstates the 'Open' keyboard shortcut.

4) At this point, you're probably thinking, 'My god, I'm going to have to repeat this process for every single keyboard shortcut...'. But no, simply 'accepting' the 'Open' command appears to successfully reinstate every other keyboard shortcut too!

Agree with Adam.

I've stopped using Photoshop CC entirely as a result of this bug. It's a lot easier for me to abandon Creative Cloud than my Wacom or Apple gear.

You need to stop pointing fingers and give us more transparency.

I have to wholeheartedly agree with the points made by Adam. I would like to hear a more positive response from Adobe that this is being taken seriously and is being looked into with the intention of resolving it.
