@f3etor ,

If your document contains 3D content, rendering incorrectly is a known issue. This will always be the case from here forward, so your best bet is to rasterize the 3D layer, and discontinue use of Photoshop's 3D tools.

In order to rasterize, you may have to go into Preferences > Tech Preview and click 'Deactivate Native Canvas' (restart Photoshop).

If it is not a 3D layer, then please let us know and we can try something else.

Hallo

Jan

@Morgan23116616bt4v , does this happen with a new document, or one that was created earlier? Does the document contain 3D layers? If so, then you can toggle 'Deactivate Native Canvas' in the Preferences > Technology Preview section (will have to restart Photoshop). If not, then please copy/paste the info in Photoshop > Help > System Info to share with us. This could be GPU related.

I was working on a project and the layers and the document will not pop up. I turned the layers off and on and they still won't go. I even tried making a new document and the blank piece of paper is not showing up. My project is due this weekened. I need this fixed ASAP.

@The_Magster_ , 3D files stopped rendering properly last Summer. There is a temporary workaround is to 'Deactivate Native Canvas' (in Preferences > Technology Preview). If you drop back to Photoshop 22.2, things were working better back than, and you work with 3D, however I'd recommend you Render out those 3D layers if you want to keep editing that file with newer versions of Photoshop.

If you need to keep that 3D content editable, you could export in .obj to another program to migrate editing out of Photoshop.

I've seen previous threads on this topic - but those fixes don't work for me.

Blank screen on certain files - when I go on channels I see there is information there, the layers open too...but nothing shows up. It seems to only be happening with files that have 3D layers, but maybe that's a coincidence? I know that Photoshop decided to discontinue 3D support? I just want to open these mockup files!

This error was happening on Photoshop 2021 and now I updated to 2022 and it's still happening.

Hello All,

I am a professional photographer and have a serious issue that prevents me from working. This week Monterey upgraded to 12.1. A day later, Creative Cloud upgraded all my apps. Photoshop is now at 23.1.0.

When I open a photo in Photoshop, it loads but appears black. Only when I make a copy of the background, the image will show. It seems that this effect is related to the graphics process. (MBP 15" 2018, 2.9 GHz 6-core Intel Core i9, 32GB 2400 DDR4, Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB)
I have projects for which I have deadlines today (Friday, Dec. 17) for which I need to use the timeline. I have to disable the GPU acceleration to get anything done. But now the timeline only runs as 4-5 fps instead of the 30 fps before the upgrades, even switching back to graphics processor acceleration the speed does not change.

The same is true for InDesign. I have presentations to make and cannot get InDesign to respond when I load my project file. Beachball is running continuously now. Three days ago, before the updates, all was running fine.

This is seriously affecting my work and I need a solution in the next few hours.

Can anyone help?

Greetings
Ton

Hello,

I am on MacOs Monterey 12.1 and photoshop 2022 (last updates), I also had this problem with Catalina.

With some images (not all), when I open it I have a black screen.

• when I uncheck "use graphic processor" > the image appears but photoshop is slow and I can't do anything with layers etc.

• when I uncheck "Use OpenCL" > no black screen but no image, just the dark grey background of photoshop

I also deleted the preference file.

Could you help me please?

Thanks you

Hi, could you find a common denominator in those files? 3D layer? smart object? a given size/number of layers?Edited or not in a previous version?

Try also to have only Ps running.

To help solve the issue in Photoshop, select Help > System Info.

  1. In the System Info dialog, click Copy.
  2. Attach or copy the info here to this thread.

Are you meaning that when you open an image [such as tiff or jpeg] using Photoshop that the entire image is now black?

Have you popened this specific image using any other application? Just to check it isn't actaully "black"?

Or you are placing an image into an existing photoshop document (file)?
Please explain further. Give us your process step by step.

I hope this helps
