P: File name and extension highlight when saving on macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hey @Ярослав5C30 now you get the same result you want but not the way it use to be. So instead of having just the file name selected, its file+extension highlighted but as @CShubert stated, just type the name you want it to be "This_is_file" and when its saved you'll have This_is_file.jpg so it will be automatically added based on what file type you selected before naming the file. 

Ahh @YESTom I see these output settings now. I even did some googling and in app search to try and locate but I can see what you shared in your screengrabs. I've posted the English screens as well below but as a first pass, most of what I'm seeing looks to be the same and I've not changed any of these from default ever. The ONE thing I do see that is different in your setting is on "Filename Compatibility" Mine has Unix checked and you don't have anything checked. Maybe check the Unix box and see if that fixes it and let us know!

Maybe you're right, it is a possibility that Mojave can be the reason why it is not working. I still haven't updated some software that I use for work are not yet compatible. 

To find the settings I showed you, when you save for the web look top right :

They are the "Output parameters" maybe I messed somethig here? Once you have the window in front of you you can switch tab with "next" and "previous". Let me know if you have something similar.

I don't think the language of my PS is related to the issue, but who knows.

May @Jeffrey Tranberry has an anwser for me?

Happy Friday @YESTom so I'm on Big Sur and for the English version of Photoshop, the problem started with Catalina and carried over to Big Sur and hopefully wont' come back with Monterey. I keep my OS up to date always but with some script adjustments etc. I typically hold off on Photoshop updates between bug fixes but at this point all my big issuses have been resolved. Even though you are on the latest PS, being on Mojave could be an issue (but probably not very likely) or in the localization of running OS and PS in French maybe the issue still persists? For one, I can't find in the English version of PS the screenshots you shared. I have Export Preferences in the program Preferences and then there is a Preset called Export Presets but neither looks like what you are showing me. Do you have some plugin or extension that is adding these settings? I think you'd need @J453 to chime in if localization could be part of the problem.

The most important for me is Save for the Web.

I'm running on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 and I downloaded the latest version "Version Adobe Photoshop : 22.5.1 20210907.r.441 de74e1a x64"

On which Mac OS are you? Do you think it come from that?

I have this as output parameters (sorry it's in French)

Can you please compare with yours?

Am I missing something.

Hey again @YESTom I would start with confirming that you are runing 22.5 or 22.5.1 which came out like yesterday. If you are on an older version like I was then yes, this will still be "broken". But to confirm my process, whether using Save As or Save for Web I get an extenion automatically added based on what I tell PS to save it as. Graphic attached showing screenshots of what I see till file save. 

Hey @clif_CROP many thanks for getting back to me. I've tried and it's true that my computer see it as an image but I don't get the extension at the end :

So when I try to upload it to wordpress, it doesn't let me for security reasons. It wants a file with the extension.

You don't get the same? When you type your name, when you go and see the image, you get the extension ?

Hey @YESTom I know it feels a bit odd since its now how it use to work but just go ahead and type what you want the file name to be and ignore that the extension disappears, you don't have to retype it or unhighlight it, it will be added back after you hit confirm/save.

Thanks @J453 ! I've been on 22.4.3 but updated to 22.5 (not because I doubted you) and can confirm this too is fixed. So that is THREE Save bugs that I've updated on the comm. site today as being fixed! Nice way to end a week.
