P: LrC (11.0.1) Edit in PS2022 fails because Photoshop could not be launched - Error Message

Since updating my subscription to Adobe for Photographers (Photoshop & Lightroom) I am having an issue when launching Photoshop 2022 from Lightroom v11.

If I right click on the image I'm working on in Lightroom and select 'Edit in Photoshop 2022' I am asked whether or not I want to edit a copy or the original (as I would expect).

If I select "Edit Original" everything works to plan, the image opens in Potoshop and I can proceed.

However:

If I select either "Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments" or "Edit a Copy" I have an issue.
I can see the copy being created on the Film Strip at the bottom of the Lightroom screen, Photoshop starts up and stops at the launch screen but the image fails to open in photoshop.

If I wait for 2 or 3 minutes I recieve an error message in Lightroom: "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop 2022 could not be launched"

If I then select 'OK' in the error message the image immediately opens in Photoshop and I can work away.

This morning an followup update to Photoshop 2022 (to Ver: 23.0.1) was installed and it made no difference.
This afternoon Camera Raw also had a followup update to Version 14.0.1 and it has made no difference.
The problem is still there.

Is this a bug or is there a some way I can fix the problem.

I'm using a Windows PC - Running Win 10 and it has 24gb of RAM

Problem also fixed when I replaced my graphics card. This appears to be the root problem.

I’m not sure about others but when I try this, my performance preferences
do not give the option. It also thinks my Intel 4000 onboard GPU is
“unknown” :(--

Ok good and bad news!

The good news it's fixed for me.

Bad news is I did have to replace the graphics card.

I had a Firepro V5900 that PS said was not supported under performance in Photoshop.

New RX550 does appear as supported and the programs work perfectly as expected.

After 8+ hours I'll leave my system the way it is.  Unfortunately a new action I purchased seems to no longer work with this older version of photoshop.  I'm afrait to let any more remote workers on my computer:

I lost all user presets and user print presets in lightroom.

Adobe uninstalled and installed everything many times, includeing creative suite.  I was assured nothing will be lost- that was not true.  in addition to the presets, I also have galleries in my library that no longer have any edits done to them.  I was lucky where it cut out, I don't think I will need those files as they are already backed up.

Again, if you have this issue, try using an older photoshop, it works better for me other than presets and actions

Things have gone from bad to worse.  In trying to resolve the issue of not being able to open PS 2022 from LR, I followed the suggestions in this thread:

Reset PS preferences

Uninstalled and reinstalled PS.  There did not appear to be any issues with the install at any time.

Now I can no longer open PS by itself, which previously was fine.  I get the dreaded blank screen.  When I edit preferences to Use Legacy New Doc diaglog, and NO Auto show Home Screen, I can't exit PS normally.  I've had to use Task Manager to close PS.  The preference changes don't seem to be saved, and I continue to get a blank screen.

I've also tried renaming th UXP directory to UXP which did not help either.

Needless to say this is getting extremely frustrating.  The PS application is now completely non functional.

I actually ordered a new graphics card to test with after determining that within PS2022 my graphics card was no longer supported. It is coming in today so I’ll know pretty quickly if the graphics card assists with the issue.

So, performed the reccommended steps, in the recommended order, checking results after each step, with no change for me, and with the following current status:

1. With a raw file selected in Lightroom Classic, I choose edit in Adobe Photoshop 2022.

2. Long delay results (approx. 1 min.38 sec), Photoshop does load, but Lightroom returns "can't open in Photoshop. . . " error message in Lightroom, and process stops.

3. Upon closing the error message in Lightroom, the process continues, with the "preparing file to edit. . . " progress bar showing in Lightroom

4. Photo eventually does successfully load in Photoshop after approx. 50 sec. delay.

Would be happy to set up a sharing session if interested, and will PM you.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography I already spent >2 hours with an Adobe engineer troubleshooting. I documented some of the steps they suggested in the other thread. At first, it seemed like they helped. I was only experiencing the issue about 25% of the time. But not it's more common again. I also tried a complete erase & install of my operating system (OS 12 Monterey) and started from scratch with the Adobe apps. I'm still having the issue. That tells me it's a bug.
