P: MacBook Pro Apple M2 Max Laggy Liquify

Hi all, curious if the recent 24.4.1 update solves this issue for you?

Mine works fine tested today as soon as I updated!!

M2 Max MacBook pro

It seems to work finally but it's not quite as fluid as it is on an M1 machine. I can't believe they can't figure out what the problem is. It is usable but I sometimes get a stuck cursor when I am on the grey area between the image and the settings on the right.

Did the last update 24.4.1 fixes the liquify issue ? 

I'm having the same issue on the current version and the previous verison on my Mac Mini M2 Pro.

My base model M1 Macbook Air is WAY faster with zero lag in Liquify. I can't understand why this is.

I believe there may be 2 Liquify issues:

1) It doesn't work at all with GPU acceleration (which I haven't experienced)

2) Another one which I and @Simone29283792lrmr described: the result of the Liquify is sometimes not applied after exiting the Liquify window, seemingly randomly. This happens regardless of GPU acceleration status and can be worked around by liquifying a Smart Object.

Adobe this needs fixing just got an M2Max Macbook pro and it has this excact issue with Liquify....It is loading and it does the job but its waaaaaay too laggy to the point that I have to redo a lot of stuff..

My 2019 intel i9 Macbbok pro does not have that isuue at all.

Didn't work for me. I tried it on 24.3 and the 24.5 Beta. Still impossible to use Liquify without holding option before... And still it doesn't feel the same without the GPU on... This sucks! 2 weeks without a fix...

Workaround for liquify not working in Photoshop 24.3 2023 on a M2 Mac.

Before using Liquify, make the layer to be liquified a smart object.

I've tested this for about a day so far and hasn't failed me once.
