P: Move Tool - Toggle auto select shortcut changed

Hello. The changed shortcuts to toggle the autoselection of layers with the move tool selected is highly frustrating to me. I used to have a great workflow with auto select turned on and used cmd to drag elements that were either off-canvas or too small / too transparent to grab them. Now it seems to be inverted: I need to turn auto select off to toggle with cmd. When it is turned on, cmd seems to toggle now between layer and group auto selection.
I can't understand why this was changed or is at least not something I can switch between in the preferences.

Thanks you very much for looking into this.

If they want it to be a new feature, fine, as long as they give us a way to disable it in the preferences.

You'll see from the comments above that this behavior was changed (on purpose!!) as of 2014.2.1. We're hoping they switch it back to what's it's been for the all previous versions.

I hope this auto-select toggle on cmd is just a simple bug and not a change of behaviour. This is killing my productivity

Quit and restart your Creative Cloud app. There was a Camera Raw update earlier this week. The update to fix this issue is forthcoming.

Yeah, I can't seem to find any update since Oct 6. Not through my creative cloud panel, and not on their site either.

From what they just said there's no new update yet so don't fret (yet). If you look at the version number you should still see the old number. In my case I think had to 're-update' but its not a new update. I got CC including PS updates yesterday but I think it was because I applied a new mac OS update (most likely was the case).

Chris - Highly appreciate your being here. As to the version question, I came in yesterday and there were CC updates on my cloud screen ready for download on like 4 apps - 1 of them was Photoshop. So looks like I just didn't have the latest versions on this Mac yet. Looking forward to the next one, and let me know if I can help at all with this toggle change issue, thanks in advance!

My system info reads:

Adobe Photoshop Version: 2014.2.1 20141014.r.257 2014/10/14:23:59:59 CL 987299 x64
Operating System: Mac OS 10.10.1

Thanks for your reply!

Yes, this is a temp fix, but we need to stress how important it is for Adobe to change this in the coming update; we can't be pigeon-holed into this one version. ESPECIALLY when this command has been standard in all previous versions.
