P: Not detecting older GPU's

I have a AMD HD8490 GPU and installed Photoshop version 21.2 and the GPU is not been detected, I'm not alone as I've come across other people with the same issue on the Photoshop community forum.
Reverting back to 21.1.3 fixes the issue
Why does Adobe release updates to fix bugs and then break something else with the same update.

By the way, there is information that soon everything will be radically new.

Unfortunately, this often happens with Adobe updates. Years go by and nothing changes.

Funny but old, weak integrated with CPU Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 with minimal amountof  RAM memory is working on newest ps ver. 22.5 but more powerfull Quadro 2000 with 1GB RAM isn't working because "its too old and too weak".

broken again under 22.4.3 (Win 10)

Won't waste my time trying Trinios fix.

That's on Adobe to fix.

Every Update, the most basic things keep breaking, but we get some AI-Space-Age feature.

Thanks, but that's useless, if things like brush preview and curves with wacom break.

I was able to solve with latest version as of 5/4/21 by uninstalling and changing language in CC app from english US to english international.  GTX 1650 ti. Hope this helps

Big *sigh*

It seems, Adobe doesn't work very consistant or careful  regarding updates and newer versions.

Those bugs weren't very common back in the days, when one could buy the software.

I'm not saying, that the subscription model is bad, but imho the software should be less afflicted with bugs, charging customers for the use of Photoshop, as they do.

Seems they cre more about new features than avoiding introducing new bugs every time 😕😕

Not even speaking of lost worktime on projects, downgrading all the time.

Which one was the last flawlessly functioning version? Can't remember! 😞

FYI: Looks like 22.3.1 breaks GPU detection again. My RTX 2060 is not detected. Rolling back to 22.3.0 restored GPU accelleration.

I think Adobe broke PS for Windows 7 somewhere between 21.1.3 and 21.2.5. And it doesn't look like they're interested in fixing it. It is not an issue with "old" GPUs becuase these GPUs work in Windows 10.

I think they dropped suppport for Open GL somewhere around this time but whether that has anything to do with the problems, I don't know.

while PS version 21.2.5 detects the same gpu in Windows 10 and does not in Windows 7, it would be operating system issue? But what about ver 21.1.3 which detects gpu on Windows 7?  Maybe  incompatibility between system/drivers/ps?
