P: Object Selection very slow response Photoshop 23.5

Current latest PS version is 23.5

And Object Selection is really slow.

It wasn't like this until the early version of PS 2022, but it's getting slower and at 23.5, it's really weirdly slow.

I thought there might be a speed difference between turning on and off the option, so I compared it, but the results were the same.

Precise previews for 16bit document on/off

Native canvas on/off

Multithread compositing on/off

Use Graphic Processor on/off

Image Processing- Select Subject(Device , Cloud) : I don't know if this affects object selection, but I tried changing options.

The size of the test image below is really small. 1000px x 667px (sRGB, 8bit document)

The reason why I tested it with a small image was because I thought it was because of the large image and the number of layers.

But if you look at the gif image below, you can see a huge difference in loading and speed

This is Photoshop 23.5's object selection.

Even though the end is cut to meet the gif capacity, the loading time in front is long. Once again, the test image is very small.

And Now this is Photoshop 21.0.3's object selection. you can check this...

Can you see the difference? It's a big difference.

This is the difference in speed that appears even though the image used in the test is really small.
In the actual working image (6000x8000px), there is a loading as if the computer had stopped a little bit.
It's the same if you try to select a very small, very simple part of a real image, not a lot of it.

This needs to be improved Speed or delay. In fact, the masking quality of those two images was almost the same.

I wish I had seen this before I tried to reinstall Windows OS twice times and alternately install Nvidia drivers from January to August 2022.....................I thought my Windows file has been damaged since the beginning of this year, or it's a driver problem. So this is a problem I can't solve? The biggest advantage of the object selection tool was that you could choose quickly and simply... Should I just install the 2021 version? There are too many crashes to use the previous version of 23.5, so some psd files are damaged at all, so I don't want to use them.
I should just install the 2021 version...

I checked the Fixed issue page with joy after hearing the release of 23.5.1!

But was it omitted from this update? I can't see it... It has been reported in various communities, and I thought it would be solved because it is a problem that most Windows 10 users have not been able to use for a long time. So sad...... Please return? or fix? the obejct tool to its original state.

I searched various threads, including this thread, for the fast operating speed I wanted and the stable tool that doesn't crash, and the best solution I got from Google Search was by installing 2021. (Thank you, everyone)
I hope the Object tool selection comes back to its original state without any time soon.
I repeatedly installed and reinstalled today from 23.0.1 to 23.5.1 in the 2022 version, but it didn't work except for installing the 2021 version above.

It's not fixed in 23.5.1... Then do I have to wait for 24.0? Omg...
It's really going to be over a year.  😭
It was slow or crash throughout almost a year of objectselect tool use. 😭😭

I installed and tested 23.5.1 with my team. There is no change. It's still slow. unfortunate news =(
Of course, there was nothing about this in the 23.5.1 release, so I expected it to some extent, but I did the test just in case.
I should ask Nvidia. Will this issue be fixed according to their driver release schedule...

I heard about this problem at the camera forum and tested it myself and thought about a solution to it. But this is no longer a problem we can solve.
When I asked NVDIA, they said that even if the latest driver is released, the ETA driver cannot be implemented unless Adobe software is updated... Then it seems that we have to wait for both NVDIA's driver release and Adobe Photoshop release.
Whatever it is, I hope it will be released soon and used. To be honest, it's too hard not to use the function normally for nearly a year.

@Yukie Takahashi  Thank you for your reply despite your busy schedule.
It was somewhat as expected, but I understood it completely after hearing you.
So, The most important key to solving this problem is the release of Nvidia Driver?
So, regardless of Photoshop's version (23.0.0~23.5 or next release), if Nvidia only provides drivers with the crash corrected, will all previous versions of the crash be resolved?
If so, that would be an interesting and welcome result. All the Photoshop builds in 2022 will be fully available.

Btw. Looking at your last sentence, I'm writing it down because I think Adobe employees and developers like you are misunderstanding.
I(We)am grateful to Adobe employees and developers for providing this service.
But the reason why I wrote a long article at the end is that users have to use radeon to avoid issues with Nvidia? The flow of the story went towards that and it was to mediate.
I trust you guys. However, in the case of such a big problem, if you let us know the progress once in a while, many users will be less confused.

Hi @Jqqerry

Thanks for trying out Photoshop Beta and providing feedback.

As you noticed, the new toggle option is trying to mitigate 2 different kinds of problems.

Preferences > Image Processing > Selections Processing

1) users facing Crashes on Nvidia graphic cards - Recommend using “More stable”

2) users facing Slowness on Nvidia graphic cards - Recommend using “Faster”

Nvidia is planning to release a new driver near future and that is supposed to fix the crash.

The Photoshop development team is trying to address or at least provide a workaround to the most critical issues to the users as much as possible and as soon as possible. And continue to optimize the performance whenever possible.
