P: Photoshop 22.1.0 - Program Error using Spot Healing tool and using Select and Mask

Repeatedly ...even after restarting PS and/or rebooting laptop, I try to use the spot healing tool and incessantly get this popup:

"Could not complete your request because of a program error"

All I can do is click the OK button and then continue until a minute or so goes by and I get the same thing happening again. Another buggy update???

Andrew ...this is NONESENSE!

Google tells me that Worldwide there are some 12 million Creative Cloud subscribers.

By dragging this out (I was the original poster on this ridiculous problem back on Dec 9), Adobe is clearly demonstrating that it doesn't give a dam about any of us 12 million paying subscribers.

What the hell is Adobe doing with the $120,000,000 dollars collected from us Creative Cloud subscribers EVERY MONTH???

They want to take all that money from us, then have us:

  • Do our own testing
  • Find, report and clearly illustrate all the programming errors for you
  • Collectively waste millions of extra hours while trying to work productively with buggy software.
  • Collectively waste hundreds of thousands of hours on forums like this watching Adobe duck responsibility and fail to fix the program despite having $120 million dollars per month in revenue to work with?  I'm sure a qualified Adobe program engineer could resolve it for less than $5,000 but someone at the top of your organization is TOO CHEAP AND SELF-SERVING to get it done!

The top person or team responsible for signing off on new releases should be replaced NOW by people with an uncorrupted sense of what a Customer Base is, instead of just a source of $120 million dollars every month!

12 million subscribers are being ripped off with these incessant buggy updates. This lack of quality control is bogging down your support system so you are losing money from that end in addition to doing who knows what with the $120 million per month in revenue Creative Cloud is generating.

It is time to put a stop to this lunacy Andrew!

If participation in the PreRelease program would solve these very frustrating problems sooner then I would like to participate.

I have the same issue. Going back to 22.0.1 now, shall see what happens there 😞

I could test pre-releases, but I am not a heavy user. So may be not much point.

I have down graded to 22.0.1 as advised and now content aware crop has stopped working!

I have down graded back to the previous version and I guess you are still billing me even though I've lost hours of wasted time!

To save you time, using a well know search engine, Nik efex is an extremely common plugin that photographers use!

I am a photographer and not a computer expert, I expect you to test your programs as I don't have the inclination or time.

Hi *devariojay ,

We're sorry for the issue and frustration you are enduring.  The OS version should not be causing this issue. Can you try re-installing version 22.0.1 in the mean time?  Here is the link to the re-install instructions: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

Additionally, would you like to participate in our PreRelease program?  It would be the latest Photoshop with a fix to your issue.
