P: Photoshop 27.10: "Edit in Photoshop" from Lightroom Classic & Lightroom Desktop does not load image

Since today’s Photoshop 27.10 update, the “Edit in Photoshop” command in Lightroom Classic 15.5.1 is not working anymore for me. Photoshop opens automatically as before (if it’s not open yet) but no image is being loaded. Downgrading Photoshop to 27.9.1 resolves the issue and the “Edit in Photoshop” functionality is back to normal. I also tried to change the external editing file format from TIFF to PSD or PSB but this didn’t make any difference. Anyone else facing the same issue? 

I’m running macOS Tahoe 26.6.2. Closing and re-opening LRC and PS didn’t solve the problem, rebooting the machine also didn’t show any effect.

      Hi everyone,

      Thank you for the detailed reports and reproductions here. It has been really helpful in isolating the issue quickly. I’ve filed this for the engineering teamto investigate and prioritize. 

      In the meantime, here are confirmed workarounds:

      • Downgrade to Photoshop 27.9.1 via the Creative Cloud app (Other versions > 27.9.1).
      • Alternatively: Temporarily disable Denoise in Lightroom Classic before sending to Photoshop, then re-apply back in Lightroom, or it using Camera Raw as a filter inside Photoshop.

      We understand this disrupts a core editing workflow and appreciate your patience. We'll update this thread as we have more information.

      Same here, I need the denoise fonction in Lightroom ! How does the smart object approach in Photoshop work ? Never needed this

      It works fine but slows down workflow considerably for me at least.

      In Lightroom Classic I select two or more photos and right click → edit in… → open as layers in Photoshop.

      Photoshop opens, but then before the photos are opened, photoshop freezes without errors or notifications. I can only close the application by using the task manager.

      The “Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2026” function still works. Both photos open as seperate files in Photoshop. But I would like to be able to use the open as layers in Photoshop function, because it speeds up my workflow.

      I think this bug appeared after the latest update, but I’m not certain.

      Current versions:
      LrC: 15.5.1
      Camera Raw: 18.5.1
      Photoshop: 27.10.0

        The “edit in photoshop” feature got broke and it is a mess as it breaks the editing path, please fix it!

          I have to go to the folder where the file is located and right click and select Open with, Photoshop.  This is REALLY slowing my processing down.

            Troubleshooting appears to be complicated and time-consuming.

            It’s better the fixing would be taking a longer time as the fix contains new bugs.

            We have to be patient.

            If you use the Denoise function on a RAW image, you can’t use the “Edit in Photoshop” function. Photoshop launches but the image doesn’t open.

              I looks like there is some connection, as I have the same issue with files where denoise has been applied. However, deactivating denoise in LrC prior to open in PS does not resolve the issue in my case.

              Hallo zusammen,

               

              ich habe das Problem, dass beim Export einer bearbeiteten Bilddatei von Adobe Lightroom in Adobe Photoshop die Farben in Adobe Photoshop gesättigter und das Bild geringfügig dunkler aussieht. Ich habe schon zwei Tage lang via KI alle Optionen getestet, aber ich liste mal auf, was ich bis dato getestet habe.

               

              • Lightroom Export Einstellungen für Adobe Photoshop 2026 stehen auf Adobe RGB mit 16 Bit und einer Auflösung von 300 Pixel (sRGB oder ProPhotoRGB brachten keinen Unterscheid)
              • Der Bildschirm (BenQ SW272Q ist via Spider X2 und AQColor Pilot auf Platz 1 kalibriert). ICM Profil V2 und V4 getestet
              • Windows Farbeinstellung (Geräte) steht für den Monitor auf dem kalibrierten Profil (andere Profile wurden gelöscht). Unter “Erweitert” steht es berim Geräteprofil auf sRGB. Das Gleiche gilt für die Systemstandards.
              • Der Laptop-Bildschirm (XMG Neo 16 A25) zeigt das gleiche Phänomen
              • Unter dem XMG Control Panel ist die Farbkalibrierung unter der “Bildschirm” Kategorie deaktiviert.
              • Es ist der neueste NVIDIA Studio Treiber via NVidia App installiert
              • Unter der NVIDIA Systemsteuerung wurden alle globalen Einstellung auf Werkseinstellungen zurückgesetzt. Das Gleiche gilt für Adobe Lightroom und Photoshop
              • Programm-Anpassungen unter der NVIDIA App wurden auch zurückgesetzt
              • Neustart wurde mehrfach durchgeführt
              • Das EINZIGE was zu einer absolut gleichen Farbanzeige führt ist die Deaktivierung der GPU-Beschleunigung unter Adobe Photoshop. Bei Adobe Lightroom bringt es keine Änderung.
              • Die Farbeinstellung von Photoshop steht auf AdobeRGB mit der Übernahme vom Profil. Das Bild in AdobePhotoshop ist auch von Adobe Lightroom als AobeRGB richtig exportiert worden.

              Im Anhnag findet ihr den direkten Vergleich via Screenshot.

              Adobe Lightroom: Version 15.5.1

              Adobe Photoshop: Version 27.10.0

               

              Grafikkarte: NVIDIA  RTX 5090

              en cours de travail, subitement, il ne m’a plus été possible d’ouvrir une photo exportée depuis LR, vers PS. J’exporte une photo, PS s’ouvre mais rien ne se passe : la photo ne s’ouvre pas
