P: PNG Images Opens with Distortion

From time to time, when I open a png image, it will appear as bright, distorted lines.

I have deleted all Photoshop preference files, uninstalled the app, reinstalled it and restarted the computer. Does not prevent it from happening.

When it happens, I can quit Photoshop and reopen it and the png appears correctly. But then it will happen again later that day or the next. Rinse/Repeat.



Very annoying. Please get better quality control Photoshop. CC seems to get progressively worse in terms of bugs.

    Hi,

    Not as of today, no. I will post to this thread when the update becomes available. You would also see it if you opened up your Creative Cloud desktop app.

    Whats going on with Adobe Photoshop new version. Getting problem with png file format. Photoshop not able to open png file in correct way.

    Hello!
    Remember that once a fix is issued, it needs to be tested to make sure if it does impact other areas of the application.
    Also, one of the advantages of Creative Cloud is that you can install older versions of the application, to work around your issues...

    I'm on sierra (low). Have experienced this as a moderate problem, meaning a pain, but I can still work.

    Since the folk with the worst problems seem to be on either Win 10 or High Sierra, I'd guess that Adobe just can't keep up with all the terror those 2 are inflicting on us. <BG>

    Okay thank G I'm not going crazy. Everytime I open up a PNG file it looks like a digital rainbow. Photoshop CC is very buggy. It's also hard to select objects. The older photoshop programs were made much better. Did Apple buy Adobe? lol
