P: Text Size Scubby Slider and Up Down Arrow no longer gives live updates

I updated to 19.0.1 this morning, and everything is lovely with the exception of the Character palette. I'm suddenly unable to see increases or decreases made to any inputs in the Character palette via the up- and down-arrow keys in real time (only when I tab out of a field or hit Enter to commit the change does the actual type onscreen update). I'm able to make updates with arrow keys in other palettes (e.g. Paragraph). I should mention that I'm on a Macbook Pro (OS 10.13.1).

Hi Hanna,

Thanks for your quick response. Hope it does come soon considering the original post here is 2 months old. At the very least I'm not alone.

Hi Ed,

Sorry for your frustration. I merged your post with a duplicate thread about the issue. This will be resolved in the next release of Photoshop (19.1) which will be coming soon. You'll get an update when it's ready for download.

Thanks,
Hannah

Just downloaded PS CC18 (MAC). Wish I hadn't. Editing text options using either the character panel or options panel cannot be done in "real time." In other words if I have some text set and wish to change size, leading, set width, etc. by selecting the corresponding value in the appropriate box, I can not use the arrow keys to see the adjustments as they are being made. Sure the arrow key changes the value, but I can't see the actual change until I commit with the return key. This sucks.

New Update for PsCC does not allow for live previewing of text increase size in text boxes - you have to now click enter after choosing a font size or spec to see what the text will look like in the box i.e. if it overflows or is too small you have to start the size chose process again - adds many clicks to the process as you zero in on the  right character specs and makes a previously easy task arduous. Please fix!

Hi Seth,

19.1 is a feature release and it will be the next update. If you are concerned that I might be suggesting that the fix for this issue won't be coming until the next yearly MAX release (in other words, 20.0), not to worry.

Thanks,
Hannah

I feel your pain. My clients are paying for my inefficiency because of this 4-month (and counting) bug. I'd expect this treatment from a company going out of business secretly, but Adobe makes too much money off of us to abandon us like this.

I'm expecting an update everyday.
If you work with Type in Photoshop it is essential that the realtime Preview of Font size and also Line Height work.
Adobe com'on and fix this!!

It's a new problem caused by the 2018 update. I used to be able to preview the font size changes dynamically automatically as I edit the size. But now I have to press enter then I can view to see if it is the size I want. Please fix this bug.

Photoshop is so complicated that if you fix something, you can broke something else. They must be sure that nothing else is broken. And they usually don't fix single bug but more bugs at once.

You can have both versions at same time and copy settings (not only presets) from 2018 to 2017. You need only  to find correct folder.
