Mask tracking zero progress

Hello,

I applied the Gaussian Blur effect on a video clip and used the pen tool to apply a mask around a number plate. I then hit the play button to track the mask as the car moves but the progress bar doesn't show any progress. When I select "Stop" I am then unable to select track again as all the buttons are greyed out.

I'm using M1 Max so I don't think it is an isssue with memory.

Thanks,

HI @Kevin-Monahan

As it says in the comments, dl issues occur randomly
Sometimes it doesn't happen until the end of the work
Sometimes it happens from the beginning of the work

If the tracking process fails, all the tracking-related buttons turn gray
If you refresh the clip as if you were creating a new mask, the button color return
So I can't tell you how to reproduce it
My footage is Prores 422 or 422LT or 422HQ / HD 1920x1080 29.97

I know how to use it on after effects
But I need about 2,000 cuts of masking per program
So it's very inefficient to send all these cuts to the After Effect and work on it

Hi @빵빵띠끼야,

I read your message. I have it working very well here on my ARM Mac (MacBook Pro M1), but my footage is ideal for testing mask tracking. I'd love to see the footage you are using to get the effect working. Certain subjects in some footage make it challenging for the tracker, so I head to After Effects for advanced masking and tracking duties in those cases. Do you have access to AE?

Feel free to upload a sample, and I will take a look. I apologize for the frustration. Please tag me in any response or send me a PM to any link.

Thanks!

Kevin

This issue seems to be a chronic problem for Apple Silicon.
Of course, there are people who express themselves in the Windows version
There is a fundamental difference from what is expressed in Apple Silicon.
The issue, which arises from Apple Silicon, occurs randomly during work and can be re-challenged by creating a new mask or refreshing that clip, such as Nest.
But that doesn't make it 100% successful.
This issue does not show a certain pattern of occurrence, so we cannot tell Adobe how to reproduce it except to say that it is a problem.
Adobe has been silent on this issue for years.
Unfortunately, Adobe seems to have decided to ignore this issue at the moment.

Multiple instrument tests show no problem with version 23.0.
[Of course, there are other bugs...]

For those who do not necessarily need a higher version, the only solution is to use 23.0.

I'm still having the same issue. Even on an M3 Macbook Pro with Premiere Pro 2024 24.4.1 (Build 2).

I was having the same issue for hours, I found that if I created a new mask and cut the original track forward and backward was availabl. However if you start the tracking process on the first frame of the video it will not work so begin tracking on the second frame on a new mask and you should be good. Hope this works
