MEDIA DOES NOT DISPLAY ON THE TIMELINE ON WINDOWS SYSTEMS

On Windows, if a custom scale factor is set in System > Display, media does not display on the Premiere Pro timeline. We are working to fix this issue in an updated version of Premiere Pro. Two workarounds are available:

  1. In Windows, turn off custom scaling and use one of the standard scaling options, or
  2. In Premiere Pro, turn off GPU-accelerated UI rendering in Preferences > General.

I also just had this exact problem while I just tried to start working on a big project! Clips weren't disappearing from the timeline last time I opened Premiere to edit on this machine. Nvidia drivers/Windows/Premiere fully updated. I also cleared preferences and cache, etc. I had to roll back to version 24.6 for it to finally stop having this problem.

My best guess is, Ui gpu acceleration bug. I unticked Ui gpu acceleration on general option, the timeline appears but it was really choppy. I think it could relate gpu or gpu driver. I rolled back my gpu Nvidia driver from lastest to 555.99 and it still have issue.

My pc specs are

cpu: ryzen 5800x

Gpu: Rtx 4070 ti

Ram: 64gb ddr4

CS, exactly.

That's the process... first step is being able to replicate it. Which normally requires very specific data acquisition.

Then they have to figure out, from many sections of thousands of lines of code, which code is involved.

Next, figuring out a correction bit of code for that issue, that doesn't affect any other code anywhere.

It's a bloody hard thing to do.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

When the timeline is scrolled exactly to the beginning (00 second), the items on the timeline flicker and disappear entirely! making work a nightmare... plus it flickers randomly at different points of the timeline (if scrolled to start after 0 second)

I'm on Premiere Pro 2025 latest update, Windows 11 latest update.

No mention of comp.specs.

If an Nvidia driver is installed, make sure it is the Studio driver.

If you are using the game driver: roll back.

They have acknowledged the bug. They are working on a resolution.  First, they have to replicate the problem. Adobe doesn't release software with that kind of a flaw intentionally.  It did not show up during their testing. The developers have to figure out what combination of hardware and software causes the issue. Since the clips are actually there it seems like it has something to do with the display adapter. In any event, I simply reinstalled the previous edition and continued editing with that. It's not like you are stuck without a solution.

Hi @Kelly_Gouveia LDA8158 - To install version 24 or Premiere Pro, go to the creative cloud desktop app and select the apps section.  You will see a three dots menu in the Premiere Pro box, select those dots and choose "Other Versions" there you will be able to install version 24

It disappears! 😞

Hi

I am unable to edit videos because the clips disappears in the timeline after dragging them there. The rest of the work area are working except for this part.

Done:

BIOS update

Uninstalled and reinstalled the app

App update

Please help. I need to finish the project.

Thank you
