Premiere Pro 26.0.1 – Speech-to-Text Transcription Completely Inaccurate

I am experiencing a critical issue with Adobe Premiere Pro 26.0.1 on Mac M5. The speech-to-text transcription feature produces entirely inaccurate results. Even with very clear audio, the transcript does not reflect what is said in the video. For a 2-minute video, the transcription output is completely wrong and unusable. Audio files and everything else are the right ones and there is nothing wrong with them, double checked;)

    @reacorviche,

    The more common issue like this is for transcription to start, and finish but with no transcription and a “No dialogue found"  message.

    Rolling back to an earlier 26.x or 25 may be a workaround. I am not seeing a problem transcribing with PR 26.2.2 in English on Win 11.

    Atualmente uso o Samsung Book com o Windows 11, Premiere na versão 26.2.2, e a trasncrição do áudio simplesmente não funciona direito. Uso o Português do Brasil, mas já tentei colocar em Inglêse também não funciona. O programa apenas trasncreve fragmentos mínimos no vídeo (“O que”, “é”, “a”, “e”), já é o quarto vídeo diferente que preciso legendar na mão, porque a legenda depende da transcrição. Já pedi pra trasncrever mais de uma vez no mesmo projeto, e tentei apagar o projeto para criar outro mas  não adianta.

    @Bruno Casal González,

    A problem with transcription accuracy on Macs was fixed in version 26.2.0.

    What version of PR are you on? What OS?

    @Bruno Casal González

    OK, windows. And what version of PR?

    You show the “create subtitles” dialogue. Did you first transcribe the clip or sequence? Or are you using the single step transcribe and create subtitles?

    Premiere 2026 está experimentando errores a la hora de transcribir mi texto. de primeras, la ventana de idioma desaparece y cuando voy a crear los subtítulos los hace mal. Ha pasado de generar unas buenas transcipciones a tener el nivel de inglés de una persona de 4 años.

    No encuentro solución alguna, he cambiado el idioma predeterminado, he cambiado la versión de premiere y ha desaparecido esta ventana!!!

    Esta opción me ayudaba a trabajar pero si sigue persistiendo el problema voy a tener que cambiar de programa, ya que no puedo perder el tiempo escribiendo subtitulos manualmente.

    @TailsRolls,

    That is very weird!

    What version of PR are you using? What OS? Do you have Lanuage auto-detection selected in preferences by any chance?

    You say subtitles, but I think you are referring to the transcription. If you right-click a clip in the Project Panel, pick transcribe (re-transcribe), select the correct language for the clip (and correct audio channel if more than one), what do you see?

    Estaba trabajando en una secuencia y los subs que me generan están en espanglish irreconocible, he trabajado diversos proyectos similares y estas semanas me sigue pasando lo mismo.

    Adobe speech to text is so annoying. I’m forced to use third party apps to do the transcription. The worst part is Premiere pro doesn’t allow you to customize captions settings (e.g maximum number of character in a line/minimum duration e.t.c) for captions generated in third-party softwares yet their captions is unusable.

    @FlameCine,

    It can be frustrating when any part is not working as expected. But you’re posting in a thread where the problem has been fixed in the latest release (26.2). But accuracy is an ongoing challenge. Staff reported that, not only was this issue (oddly bad accuracy) fixed, but additional improvements were made. So if you’re seeing accuracy issues in 26.2,  be more specific about what you are seeing.

    I’m not sure what you are describing regarding captions. If you’re importing a third party transcription, you can apply the same PR captioning parameters.

    tengo el mismo problema: premiere hace ahora unas transcripciones horribles, y lo peor es que todo ha pasado esta semana. la semana pasada transcribía bien. ahora ni siquiera entiende las frases, no tiene coherencia, confunde palabras básicas… horrible experiencia. alguien sabe de algún plugin de terceros que haga su trabajo bien?

    They found a fix for this, inside the beta it’s already working and that’s what I’ve been using for the time being until the full release comes out, so you go to creative cloud go to betas and download premier pro beta version and it will work, that fixed it for me.

    the old version still doesn’t work for me, but the beta does.

    Purchased a brand new MacBook Pro m5 pro, I downloaded the newest premiere onto the Mac, and when I went to edit my first video the captions were completely off, random words being put, most words being completely skipped over, I took the same video exported on the new m5 and put it to my older m3 chip and the captions transcribed perfectly.

    I went through the whole process of deleting and completely reinstalling any adobe on the Mac as it was brand new, nothing fixed it.

    I hope that this gets pushed to a formal error because many m5 chips are suffering from this.

    Would love any info on this.

    This is happening on the LATEST update, not beta.

    Hi @efford_5932 - This issue has been fixed in Premiere Beta version 26.3 and will be included in the next version of Premiere.

    Can you confirm that you see this issue on an “M5 Pro” which was just announced on March 3rd?
