Why is the V24.4.0 captions editing is made to be torturous?

Hi,

Does selecting text really have to be that annoying? It requires pixel perfect precision, otherwise it's extremely unforgiving. With words it would take too long to explain, but I made a screenshot video, please take a look.
Windows 11. 
Extremely easy to replicate - just try to actually edit the captions once, and you will instantly realise. 
Note: I am reporting a bug, but not planning to engage in any discussions: once the bug is reported (by posting this post), I'm not gonna return to this forum thread anymore. I shall do my editing, and tech support shall do their fixing. I believe enough information was posted (if the screenshot video can be viewed successfully), and further discussions will provide nothing culturally enriching.

    As editors and tech support specialists, the experts here and the Adobe team focus on enriching the users' experience when working in Premiere Pro. If you double-click the text, you should be able to edit it. I have not had any issues in v 25.4 on a Windows 11 machine.

    Thanks for posting. You have a split caption segment, and are trying to edit the (same) text in each segment. The drag-select does not appear to be working correctly. I entered edit mode by double clicking and by hitting enter. I was able to correctly select the text using drag-select and by using keyboard commands. I tested in 24.6.5, 25.4.0, and Beta 25.6.0.31.
