OBJ import in some cases

I have experimented with OBJ imports from my program, and for the most it works very well. Some models seems to loose textures for some reason, and I can't figure out why. The model imports prefectly in my own program, Keyshot, Blender, Chetah 3D and Vectorworks. I use an iPhone 13 Pro with the current IOS. In some cases, the model comes it looking 3D pixelated too, despite having very sharp textures.

I can report having fixed all (100%) of my import issues when importing from my 3D modeling program. Apparently, it's important to be very strict when naming files. The folder containing the OBJ files should have the same name as the model. Another problem turned out to be caused by have haveing a space character first in the file name, which turned out to be sensitive (hard to spot too).

A couple of general observations:

Models often come in being on the dark side. Is there a light setting, and if not, can we get one. I refer to the model only.

I have noted that Aero does not read the degree of shininess of the model, depsite having such data. Instead it sets everything to medium shine. The result is that shiny models look bland, whereas non shiny objects look too shiny. Compare a car body, which can be quite shiny, to for example an animal, which should not be very reflective.

I have also noted that the outer boundaries of a model is a bit limited. The enclosed picture shows a 50 meter plus ariship, which had to be scaled down to half its real size to fit into the rendering box without getting chopped off. I can imagine this to be a problem when placing for example houses on a site, which feels like a natural use of the program.

Hi @Claes26545741qvju , Aero uses the .gltf 3d file format for its internal assets, it supports many textures but not from all 3d software packages. I would test your files in this gltf viewer https://gltf-viewer.donmccurdy.com/ and see if they are rendering correctly. I'm also happy to look at your assets via a PM if you would like, let me know and thanks!
