Photoshop automatically changes screen contrast and colors on Windows 11 with Intel Graphics 620

I am experiencing a color management and display issue in Adobe Photoshop. While using the program, the screen contrast and color appearance change automatically, sometimes becoming lighter or darker, and then returning to the previous state without me making any changes. The issue appears to occur specifically in Photoshop, while other applications on the same screen continue to display normally. This significantly affects my work with images, especially when accurate color evaluation is required. I am using Windows 11 with an Intel Graphics 620 GPU. I have already checked Photoshop's color settings, Windows HDR and display settings, and Intel's graphics settings, but the problem continues to occur. I would like to know if there is a known issue related to color management, GPU acceleration, or Photoshop's display rendering that could cause these automatic changes in contrast and color, and how I can resolve it.

Good Morning my friend. I have been having the same problem over the last few days. I have a Windows 11 PC using the latest Photoshop. Having researched and tried many options I finally found a solution that was simple and works for me.

Disable GPU Acceleration in Photoshop

An older integrated GPU like the Intel HD Graphics 620 can struggle with Windows 11 display rendering pipelines and Photoshop's modern canvas acceleration. [1]

  • Open Photoshop and go to Edit > Preferences > Performance (or Preferences > Technology Previews depending on your version).
  •
  • Uncheck Use Graphics Processor.
  •
  • Click OK and restart Photoshop to see if the automatic shifting stops.

I was amazed and I haven't had any problem since. I hope it works for you.🤞
