Camera Raw

Hi,CS6 and RAW 9.1.1I have photographed pages from a book beyond copyright but the copystand light has caught the curved page and lightened the text there on left edge of page, then in the middle its got the right balance of black text to light grey background, then as the curve bends right the page background colour has gone a bit darker though the other right hand lamp has avoided too much of that, as such opening it in photoshop and adjusting levels to remove the hill at right in the histogram to whiten up the page background, and dragging the black slider in to sort out the grey text, is giving an overall attack when I need to be able to paint a levels effect if you see what I mean, set a tool to different levels settings to suit different parts of the page.I try for burn but the light grey background as well as the text goes dark, I just want to darken the text and not the background on the area that caught the light more. I need to have the effect get less as I work my way across

The current advice is to use Prophoto color space as it provides the widest gammet.   Yet late model cameras only have two color settings available in their menus.  ie RGB & SRGB.  Wont this cause a color mismatch when printing images on home inkjet printers?.

Yes, as you can see from the screen capture it is up to date, I just don't know how to solve this problem, thanks for responding so soon,

I have PSE 12 and bought a new camera - Canon 7d mark ii - I believe I need Camera Raw Plug-In 8.7 for PSE to read my RAW files, however, I can't find the download. I did, however, download and installed Camera Raw 11.4.1- but when I go back into PSE, and look at what Plug-In its using, it still says version 8.5.0.236. Help! I have about 1,000 wedding pictures I need to sort through and edit! 

unable to update new camera and lenses in photoshop raw to correct lens induced issues, etcHow does one go about doing that.  I have a Mac and need updates for Nikon 850 and Nikon 500 and 8 to 15 fisheye lens (new)

Camera raw as a filter in photoshop is missing , I can not open any raw CR2 even thou I can see the filter in its file, I reinstalled PS I yet is not working simple is vanished from PS filter menu   any help

I have been using an older version of Photoshop (Creative Suite 5.0 - on disk) with satisfaction for many years.  Over the years, I downloaded plugins for newer Nikon camera bodies - D300 & D800 -  and it worked well.  I will now be purchasing a Nikon Z6.  I am aware of the Adobe Digital Negative Convertor what can be used with the raw files from the Nikon Z6, but that's another step in post production.  That said, is it likely that Adobe will be creating a "plug in" for the Nikon Z6/Z7 that will avoid the need for the Digital Negative Convertor.  As you might guess, I have not become a monthly subscription customer of Adobe since what I have now meets my needs.  It may be that as Adobe has migrated to subscription service, "plug ins" have become a thing of the past. 

Hallo,wenn ich mit dem Pinsel in Raw partiell arbeiten möchte und dies mit dem Radierer nachbessere, wechselt das Werkzeug automatisch zum Pinsel zurück. Ich kann quasi das Radiergummi garnicht verwenden. Hat jemand einen Rat?Liebe GrüßeMarc     {Thread title edited by moderator}

The radialfilter in camera raw doesn't work well. I can't change between outside and inside. MacOS Catalina, PS 20.0.6, raw converter 11.4.1.

I just updated my Camera Raw, and all my user presets that I had previoulsy imported are gone! Where did they go?! Can anyone shed some light on this? 

HiI'm hoping this is a simple request!I have thousands of images to process and I just want to set each image to auto.Currently, I'm selecting all images, then selecting auto but this seems to process everything in relation to the auto settings for that one image.How do I batch process all images relative to the auto settings for each image please?I am dyslexic and this is melting my mind!Any advice gratefully received.Thanks, Ben

Al abrir una imagen en formato raw se me abre Camera Raw,  pero el programa se queda paralizado no permitiéndome ninguna acción. He instalado los dos plugin de Camera Raw, he vuelto a instalar Photoshop, he reiniciado el ordenador repetidas veces y el problema persiste. ¿Qué puede suceder?

Could someone please clarify if I can or cannot presets to the menu in ACR so I can browse them by viewing instead of having to load each XMP one by one? I have copied presets to the folder but they never show up. In my research I do see that a lot of people are having issue with installing presets. So can you add additional presets to the menu in ACR as shown in the attached jpg? I would like to be able to buy presets and have them on the menu so I could browse as I can with the current ones I have.   

Hi all, It seems to be the latest camera update that makes my (previously perfectly working) presets not working anymore.These (vsco) presets are now partially incompatible...I'd like to have them working again. What to do?Thanks in advance.Gregor

I have the problem that if i want to save something from camera raw to tif, png, jpg nothing he says      can not create the file how to fix that?

Batch Auto correction no longer works in 11.4 of ACR.  Does anyone know how to roll back to the previous version.  This is a huge problem Adobe!  Adobe CC does not appear to have a previous versions tab.

In ACR it is possible to set a depth for an image of either 8 or 16 bits per channel. The online help doesn't mention this option. What is the effect of applying 8 or 16 bits to an image?   (Moved to the ACR Forum and Merged with another ACR question by the same user by Moderator)

When I change to radial tool and set at 'effect > inside' as soon I hit the image with the radial tool the 'effect' change automatically change from inside to outside. What to do?

Title says it all: in camera raw selection inside for radial filter does nothing. Changes are still applied outside.

If I make a gradient selection, a brush or radial adjustment, if I click on eraser, it just immediately goes back to Add and adds more of the same effect. The eraser panel won't come up at all. I suppose I'm not looking for an immediate solution, but perhaps alerting the community. Is anyone else having issues?In case you haven't yet, do not upgrade to os Catalina. It's a bag of...well...you know what.

I keep getting notifications on an update for Camera Raw.  When I try to update it, it downloads to about 87%, then says update failed.  Try again later.  Which I have done 3 or 4 times and the same thing happens.  Have talked with Adobe technicians, they have uninstalled Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan and reinstalled it twice, and the problem has not been solved.  Anyone else have this problem or any ideas on what to do?  

Hello - I have a Nikon DSLR and use Bridge/Photoshop 2019 CC.  Is it possible to see the focus points that were used by the camera when taking a photo?  I shoot with Nikon NEF raw files.  I think that NEF files are encrypted, perhaps.  I could be wrong.  If not, can I see this in Bridge or Raw?  Or Photoshop 2019?  I don't want to use the Nikon software that would show this because it's not easy to use as Adobe software.

Adobe Photoshop CC 20.0.6 Adobe Bridge 9.1.0.338 Camera Raw 11.4.1 Windows 10   Before this latest update these 2 problems were not happening:   1. Open multiple files from Bridge into Camera Raw. Select all the files. Click the 'Auto' button. Each photo used to have its own auto applied to it. That doesn't happen any longer. I have to click on each photo and click the 'Auto' button.   2. If I try an open more than 20-30 files from Bridge into Raw, it crashes. I used to process 100-150 from Bridge->Raw->CC with no problems. I now have to break up my processing into really small chunks. Also, when it crashes in Raw, the next time I open Bridge and go to that folder, Bridge crashes when loading the thumbnails. The only way to solve the issue is to remove all the .xmp files and reduce the number of files in that folder. When Bridge crashes, it also takes down CC.   Please tell me there is a way to debug this issue. Can I send logs or any other type of binaries? &

When i open a photo in Camera RAW there arestripes in the photo. I deleted and reinstall photoshop, didn't work. When i open the photo in photoshop CC, i see the photo normally. Please help.

This is a problem with the crop function of camera raw.In my case, I don't recognize the width and height of the image and it crops vertically or crops horizontally.In previous versions, cropping was done by recognizing the width and height of the image.In the new version, you can't crop or compare multiple photos in either horizontal or vertical format at once.There is also no way to delete crops once they are set.The older version is much easier to use.Am I setting something wrong?   [Duplicate thread.
