Camera Raw

This Idea would make creating day to night Timelapse Raw-Processing very easy in CameraRaw-Converter.To create a time-lapse from day to night, you have to regularly adjust the aperture or exposure time or ISO value. This results in a sharp change in brightness from one image to the next, which would lead to flickering in the final time-lapse video. To compensate for this change, I look for the exact images in RawConverter where I made the change. Now I adjust the brightness of the respective images. To get a smooth transition, I have to manually enter the exposure value from the following images. For example:Image 1 exposure -35, image 2 exposure -34, image 3 exposure -33, etc. So how about a simple function where I could enter exposure -35 for image 1 and exposure 0 for image 35, for example, and the images in between automatically make the brightness transition from -35 to 0. And the same for the color correction. It would save so much time and would certainly make a lot of time-laps

I recently purchased an OM Systems OM-1 mark II camera. The camera is capable of creating high resolution photos (80 MP files) using the cameras native 20MP sensor. It creates the high res files by taking mulitple shots and merging them (in camera) to create a single high res image. Unfortunatly Lightroom Classic does not seem to be able to import these high res files. The normal resolution files transfer with no issue, it's only the 80MP high resolution images which won't transfer. 

Firmware Version 4.0 for the Olympus E-M1 has just come out with in-camera focus stacking. Actually this is limited to a maximum 8 shot focus bracket. However, if one is happy to do the focus stacking in PP, the camera will do up to a 99 shot focus bracket. No it is not a typo, I mean 99 as in 1 less than a hundred. Photoshop and a myriad other third party apps will do that or so I'm told. So, isn't it time to have focus stacking in LR? I have no desire to stuff around with two photographic apps. I would like to see some way to know if a raw file contains saved snapshots, especially in Camera Raw. In Lightroom Classic Virtual Copies become visible so you know what other versions you've saved. In Camera Raw there is no easy way to tell if I've saved a snapshot (for example a b&w version) with a raw file without opening the snapshots panel.   I have made extensive use of snapshots in raw files I edited in the past so that I may not remembere that I've created any snapshots for that image when I open it again. Having an indication (like a dot or making the snapshots icon lighter/brighter) would really help find such features. (A snapshot indicator would also be helpful in Lightroom Classic.)

This could be the 4th option in the merge menu when selecting multiple photos. Basically this function would do, what you can already do in Photoshop manually with median layers. But this has several downsides: it's not a straight-forward process you cannot get an improved dng out of it you have to edit the first photo and then copy every setting to the other ones (because of point 2)   I thank you for your consideration.

I am unable to make Lightroom read the Crop Mode (software/user one) that was used when shooting an image. This I know works fine for Canon and Leica products in LR but not with X1D it's just not working.I have verified that this information is present in the 3FR files and also saved by LR when converted into DNGs.It's in MakerNoteHasselblad  > Unknown_0x0059Of course the "workaround" is to use Hasselblad's Phocus software - but as it seems so easy to implement I want to request that it gets looked into.

When we edit i camera raw we can select subject, sky and background to name a few masking options. i was out last saturday taking photos in a pine forrest with mist. I got green chromatic aboration amongst the branches which had the white mist background but when removing it it also effected the green growth on the ground such as blueberry bushes. The masking tool is very intelligent these days and it would be great if we could be more selective on where to remove chromatic aboration rather then just a global removal tool.

Now, with the noise reduction feature in camera raw i really need the possibility to sort thumbnails in the filmstrip by file type    Best Torben

I would like to propose that Adobe, amongst other things, prioritizes the functionality of its useful AI Denoise tool so that it works with JPEGs and Apple ProRaw, etc. I understand that the information in a JPEG is not as detailed as in some RAW files so the utility of the tool might be curtailed a bit, but this has not stopped Topaz, for instance, from extending its functionality to JPEGs etc. Many thanks

1. In the Color Grading tab in Lightroom Classic (not Lightroom), there is a small box on the bottom left hand side of the color wheels within in the Color Grading tab in Lightroom Classic. This allows you to use a color picker to select the exact color, from your photograph, that you would like to work with. It is incredibly helpful, but sadly, one of the only features I can see in LR Classic this is not in ACR.    2. This is incredibly valuable to any user, I would think, as it allows you to select and work with a color that is actually in your photograph, which is much preferred to a random selection from the color wheel. 

In Camera Raw is next to "Basic" a pulldown where you can select "Previous Conversion". Can somebody tell me what the keyboard shortcut is for this action. It is not on the list of all the keyboard shortcuts ans I've tried almost every combination possible.   Thank You

For example, when the film is vertical, I want to choose that it is not on the left, but on the right, because I have two monitors together, and the left monitor displays colors better, and the vertical film, being on the left, reduces the usable space. Otherwise, it could be placed on the right monitor along with the editing panel. And perhaps someone would also like to choose whether the horizontal film will be at the top or at the bottom.

Often when I'm correcting architectural or product photo's I stumble upon the need to use 'Skew' in transform options in Photoshop. I recon it's quite a simple procedure to adjust a photo this way, without making a PSD file. It will make my workflow much quicker and it will reduce the amount of storage it takes to save these edits.  Sometimes the 'Adaptive Wide Angle' filter from Photoshop  offers an even better solution to fix perspective problems, but I think this filter is too complicated to make it into a Camera Raw lossless adjustment filter.    Here is also a thread from almost 10 years ago discussing this subject: I believe Skew would be useful in Camera RAW...: Retouching Forum: Digital Photography Review (dpreview.com)     

More Photoshop like clone/healing brushes in Lightroom! I love retouching in Photoshop, especially with the content aware fill with the healing tool, but Lightrooms tools are clunky. I don't know if there are technical limitations to implementing tools like Photoshop's in Lightroom but it would be GREAT! I would rather be able to get a baseline retouched image in Lightroom than having to edit in Photoshop and then come back to Lightroom. I would rather just use Photoshop for image alterations.

I'm frustrated with the changed placement of the Geometry features in Adobe Camera Raw 16.02.0.1763 for Mac Ventura 13.6.3. Rather than being in the Edit controls (where they've always been), they're now located in the Crop tool functions. Of course, this placement doesn't make sense because it's not a Cropping function, but my main concern is that because the Cropping tools are always at the top of the window, the Geometry tools are not always displayed if the window is not fully maximized. (See screenshot attached.) Please either return the Geometry tools to the Edit section, where they logically make sense. If not that, at least allow for the "collapsing" of the Crop tools so that the entire Geometry panel is visible, as it was before.

1. LR Classic Ver.12.0.12. iMac Monterey 12.6.13. Whenever cloning something in the new LR Classic there is a black symbol hiding the actual clone area. All the other types of repair tools have the same bug.4. I expect to see what I´m doing. It´s hard enough in LR since you can only zoom 100%.Idea1. It would be a good idea to not have that covering the area that you want to clone.2. It would make my work faster, make me feel more sure of what I´m doing if I could see.

A client will commonly want different versions of the same file (crop, B&W, etc) and those types of exported images are easily accomplished using the Snapshots feature of ACR. This is a more streamlined solution than literally creating a copy of the whole RAW file just so I can have a different crop option.   It would be fantastic if ACR's "Save Options" included a checkbox to save each shanapshot of the image as a separate file. Mabe allow the user to choose a number or letter suffix to the image do differenitate it from other files.   I'd call this option, "Save Snapshots as Separate Files" or somehting like that.   This would be very helpful.

The Preset Amount slider is a new beta feature in Camera Raw 14.0 releasing at MAX 2021.   To try the effect, use the Preset panel to apply a preset to a photo, then adjust the slider to reduce or amplify the effect of that preset.    The 'beta' label means that the feature is still under development. Becuase Bridge's exprting files is excrutiationly slow lately, I have better results exporing my RAW files to JPGs using Camera Raw's "Save Options" process. Unfortunately, if I go back and change a file and export it again from Camera Raw, it creates a NEW file with "_1" after it. Each subseqent file is saved with "_2" "_3", etc. This is annoying.   I understand the rationale if not wanting to alter the original file, but when selecting the Destination as "Save in New Location" there is no possibility of alterning the original file. As such, a simple checkbox that becomes active when choosing "Save in New Location" would dramatically increase the usefulenss of ACR's "Save Options."   Please consider adding this opiton to the next ACR update.

So the grain slider works well for adding raslisic film texture to the image, but why is there no option for a chromatic grain adjustment. The grain introduced is only monochromatic, while film grain in real life has colors.   In Video editing software like davicni resolve, there are grain filters where you can adject the color values of the grain aswell. I think this should be implimented in the adobe grain slider

This isn't a biggie but it seems it should be easy enough to implement. Could we get the Camera RAW window to use proper Windows 10/11 Title Bar and Color Scheme behaviour and settings? Upon install, if you open Camera RAW it lacks a title bar.   The "Toggle Full Sceen" does not add the title bar.   However if you are not in full screen and drag the botton edge, a Windows title bar will appear so the window can be dragged to a different monitor.   This is useful if trying to match Camera RAW settings to an existing image open in Photoshop.  However the Title Bar does not obey the Windows Color scheme (in my case the standard Dark Mode) instead chooing bright white.   Nor does it offer the Minimize, Maximize and Close window buttons. I may be wrong but it seems trivial to add proper Windows behaviour and always show a title bar unless the  hotkey F is pressed for Full Screen Mode in which case the ESC key should retur

Add negative (-100) Saturation values in the Grading panel to desaturate just the highlights or shadows.
