Captivate

Hello all,Using Captivate 2019 on a PC at the office, we cannot seem to work with it using a Remote Desktop Connection (from home). A file that perfectly opens when opening it locally simply won't open when trying the same via RDC. It states the file might be open, damaged or that the hard disk has insufficient space or that the system has insufficient resources. Anyone knows if this is normal? In the current work conditions where working from home is the standard, we really want to be able to work on these files via Remote desktop connection. Thank you and kind regards, .

Hello,I have been having trouble with captivate (2019) not recording the mouse cursor when it moves into a Citrix window. I have tried recording a whole desktop, desktop area as well as application. When recording a desktop, my recording is as expected with the mouse cursor visible (moving across Outlook and Chrome application windows) however as soon as I move across the Citrix application window where my companies ERP is run, the environment is recorded, however the mouse pointer is not.  I have tried looking at the display scaling and settings for high resolutions etc. and cannot get this to work. The frustrating part of this is that I have recently been issued a new laptop which has introduced this problem, my old laptop worked without this problem. I'm hoping anyone has any suggestions or has seen this issue before and can help.  ThanksChris.

I'm using Captivate 2019 (11.5.5.533) on a Windows 10 machine.When I start a software simulation as a new project Captivate won't create click boxes for the default Training and Assessment mode. I checked the preferences already and the checkbox for the click box is checked. I also reset all the preferences with the batch file (CleanPreferencesWin.bat) and I always run captivate as admin but still no success with the click boxes.I also noticed that there is no record sound which normally plays whenever there is a new action during the recording. It only plays when I press a key and at the end of the recording.  Does anyone have any suggestions? 

Re: Captivate 2019 I know there are a ton of questions out there surrounding the need to create a certificate of course completion at the end of a course. Adobe is far too limited along these lines for my taste. We issue certs through our LMS, but I have a large reseller that needs a certificate at the end of the course. So I have to somehow find a way to get certain components on a certificate.  First, is it possible to create a Portrait cert instead of a landscape version? That used to be doable in older Captivate versions, but it seems it is now limited.  Second question: is it possible to change out the background image of the certificate? And is it also possible to edit the text that currently shows? I can get past the need for the portart cert if I can somehow change the background and text of the interactive certificate Adobe offers.  All in all, it is very frustrating to not be able to have more flexibility when it comes to issuing certificate

We have some problem with showing picture in our courses in Captivate 2019Pictures shows not correct or not shows at allIf we make new project in Captivate 2019 - everything work fine. But when we take CPTX file that was made in Captivate 5 - all pictures in the test starts to work bad (mix with pictues from other slides or wrong size, wrong place or don't show at all. Everything was fine while we were use Flash player, but after EOL Flash we started to use HTML5 player and we faced with problem with pictures in our course. We update Capivate to 2019 version and take old CPTX files, but in HTML5 player faced with strange showing of pictures.  Is anybody else got the same issue or maybe there is some recomendations for update Cativate 5 files to Catpivate 2019?

I am running Captivate 2019 currently.  I have created several eLearning projects over the last several years and they are updated every year or two depending upon our software updates.  This content is primarily training content for our customers.  Until now, I have been publishing the content as an exe file.  With the dissolution of Flash, all of these materials are inaccessable.  I have been looking through these forums to see how others are handling this and cannot seem to find what I need. I have tried to republish the materials as HTML5 but, unfortunately, every one that I have tried will not complete.  I have even left it running overnight just in case it was extremely slow to finish. I have used the HTML5 Tracker to see if there are any issues and it comes up clean.I have called for support and have yet to get a call back.I tried the Chat option and, after going through all the prompts to get to the right people, was told by the Customer

Hi!I use the click box to show some hints in mouseover areas. And it works fine up to a problem where I can't find a solution.Here you see my example. When you go with the mouse over ths small little bottle, the popup on the right side cames up. And you see, there is a little photo in the description. Here is the view in the status from this click box. You see, the image is in this description of the status from this click box.But when i do a preview with this page, it looks like thi, there is no photo in the description.After some tests, isee that the picture is behind the textbox. For one test, i moved the photo tot eh half out of the text box.So my first idea was, there must be a problem with the order of the item. I set the order for the photo to the front:But it doesn't change the problem, it stays the same. Can someone please help me why the photo is otherwise in the foreground in Captivate but not shown in the foreground in Preview?Thanks for any help, and sorry:

Several of my slides have an ugly gray box in the published lesson.  I don't know what it is or what its for.  We've recently updated our Captivate from 2017 to 2019.  Can someone tell me what is it and if I can delete it?  If not, can I make it transparent?  Thank you very much.

I have a button on all my slides to jump to slide 105 but when we use the button it takes us to the next slide in the captivate not to slide 105. Some of the buttons in the project work some of them do not work. I dont know why. I tried deleting the buttons that dont work and copied and pasted buttons that do work on the slide but they still do not work? Can master slides be edited in free trial???

Hello Captivate Community, We have quizzes set with the limit set to 3 attempts.  When a user has failed the quiz 3 times, is there a way to reset the quiz and renew the limits, so the user can try to pass in another 3 attempts? In essence, the user purchases the course/quiz, then has 3 attempts to pass.  If they are unable to pass in 3 attempts they repurchase the course/quiz and try again.  BUT, I cannot find a way to reset the status, or allow them to retake the quiz once the limit is reached. I guess one option is to make a copy of the course/quiz, and upon repurchase, enroll them into the second iteration of the course/quiz... Any suggestions are welcomed!! Warm Regards, Carlina

Hi community, I want to give learners a visual cue on click - like a small expanding circle indicating the exact point and time the click happens. I want to use this instead of the click sound - both because I find it is sometimes a little unnerving if you have a long demo and also for accessibility reasons.  Does someone know how this can be achieved? Is there an out-of-the-box option? Thanks in advance!

Hi There, I am planning to use some learning interactions from Captivate 2019 (accordion) in my course. After publishing the scorm course, I realized that the accordion file is not opening. Is it because of the expiry of Flash Player. Any workaround?

captivate 2019 11.5.5.553 I have developed a training that consists of some mp4s added to a captivate project that are added to the project as slide videos and distributed across slides, and in the middle of the project there ar slides that have transparent buttons used as interactions for the users to click correctly to advance. The scorm package is added to a moodle LMS. I'm receiveing reports users are experiencing slide flashes on only the interaction slides - not the video slides. The entire slide flashes when advancing to the next slide. When an interaction is clicked correctly, the action is set to go to the next slide. It has a limit of two attempts. We show a hint on incorrect clicks. When all attempts are used, we show the mouse click the correct area. There is no slide transistion on these slides, and all objects have no effects or fade ins. Is this a known issue or is there a workaround?

Is there a way to create a stand-alone, interactive training file that can be run on its own? There are situations where we do not import a training to our LMS. The MP4 files do not allow for interactivity. The Flash executable files no longer work because of Flash deprecation. Is there another publishing option that would allow us to send a training to someone outside the LMS?

Hi I am trying to install Adobe Captivate 2017 yet it keeps getting stuck on the error 103. I've been able to install the 2019 trial without any issue and have now tried the 2017 on twoPCs and the same error perisists. its really frustrating as a paying  customer I have some adobe packages and the one I really need not isn't installing. thank you 

I've not noticed this before but when I add additional cutout characters to an in-built multi-state object drag source, the DropAccept and DropReject states are locked and cannot be adjusted for other sized aspect ratios and sizes. Does anyone know how to unlock those states to transform them for size and shape?  

I keep removing the Skip button from my knowledge check questions. I uncheck the box for skip. I save the file. My skip button keeps reappearing. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

I am trying to translate the same file into different languages at the same time. I am exporting the file from: File > Export > Project Captions and Closed Captions... then I was able to translate it to another language and upload it back in: File > Import > Project Captions and Closed Captions... BUT my whole project just turned into the new language and I am wondering if I just have to create a different file for each language??? I want to record a teacher's (remote) course, while working on the same computer (while recording with captivate Some students have two computers, they record the course (which takes place online) on one computer, and they get to work and take tests on another computer.I remember that I only have one computer. Captivate is installed on the computer in question. And while captivate is recording a window on which the course takes place, I need to work. All the attempts I have made have failed so far as I realize that captivate is still recording my entire screen. when I open other applications it shows in the recordings. And I want the recording to just focus on the chosen window and forget about everything else.Is captivate capable of this kind of feat or am I wasting my time with captivate?thank you for your response in advance.

Hello! My company currently uses Captivate 2017. We have dozens of existing courses, some created in older versions and updated to Cap 2017, some created more recently in Cap 2017. We are exploring converting these courses to responsive courses, but have questions on the best way to go about this. Most of them are narrated courses with images and animations. We also have text-based courses with images/animations but no narration. When we open an existing course and select "save as responsive", the output usually doesn't layout correctly or resize neatly. We have tried "Suggest Fluid Boxes" without success.  Would it be easier (or faster) to start from scratch with a blank project, add our fluid boxes, and then copy/paste our text or image objects from the existing older course into the fluid boxes?  Help! What other advice would you offer?  

I've been working on converting our e-learning from Flash to HTML5.  So far everything seems to be working okay, however when it gets to the certificate at the end of the training, the screen loads blank.  I'm assuming this might still connect to Flash.  If so, is there another option I can use to provide a printed verification that the employee has completed the training and passed the quiz.

I just installed the newest version of Captivate on my new Zenbook and when I tired to record a demo, I got this message:  "Capture is disallowed since High-Density display was detected. Please Set DpiAwareness =1 in AdobeCaptivate.ini and restart the application"So I found the file, opened it in Notebook and edited it. But when I tried to save, I got this message: After saying Yes, I did want to replace the file, the error message said that Access is denied.What do I do next?Thanks!!

I am trying to create a comment button inside of Captivate. The button's purpose is to give our users a chance to complain, comment or report bugs on any page they encounter. Currently, the button is on the lesson navigation bar so the user can be on any slide of the lesson to create a comment on that page.  Here is what the button needs to do:The button needs to open a pop-up window with a text entry box for the comment, a cancel and submit button. I already have code that will capture the page number, student information and lesson information and will execute an excel spreadsheet with this information. I will tie this information to the submit button that will email us the report.The user must be able to click on the button multiple times througout the lesson with a new entry box every time. At first, I tried to create these elements hidden on the first slide of the lesson, but a text entry box will not carry over for the rest of the project, let alone clear itself af
