Captivate

I've had a highly frustrating day trying to work out why captivate 2019 keeps crashing every time I try to publish a project with closed captions. The project publishes and plays fine without the captions. As soon as I publish slides with captions either for slide audio or for standalone videos within slides, the project crashes as the files are being generated. I have tried everything today, reinstalled the latest version (even though I had the latest version already), cleaning the preferences, clearing caches, turning my computer (Mac) on and off, cut and pasting slides into a new project, checking the fonts and ensuring there are no unusual characters or empty caption holders but without success. A few weeks back the captions published fine but I have since updated the Mac operating system to 10.15.6 so I'm wondering if that is to blame, seeing it's not the first time a Mac update has caused Captivate (11.5.4.613 ) not to work properly. Any help gratefully received. Hi !   I’m trying to create a simple quiz with a multiple choice questions. 3 answers are correct and 2 wrong.I would like the learner to have 2 attempts to get all the right answers checked. BUT the issue is that even if only 1 correct answer is checked out of the 3, the question is considered as correctly answered. And the learner continue to the next question… Is there a way to force the learner to select the 3 good answers ? And if it’s not the case, to retry the question ?Here is the options i’ve selected for my quizz Thanks

I de-selected "Allow Gesture Navigation" in my non-responsive course.  However Gesture Navigation appears in my browser window when previewing in browser and upon publish.  I do not want it to appear.   Any ideas??

Hi,    I tried adding a Quiz slide (multiple choice question) to my project, but when I preview the project (HTML5 in browser) the slide does not show, is just skips to the next slide. I tried publishing and viewing the content, but again the quiz slide doesn't show.I then tried the "Preview from this Slide", which then shows the Flash preview window and the quiz page was visible, but nothing else worked properly as it relies on Javascript in the HTML5 project.Are quizzes compatible with HTML5 projects, if so what am I missing in the setup to allow the Quiz slide to be displayed?

I am experiencing a weird bug where my narration is starting at the previous slide.  For example - on slide 1, I said 3 sentences and then clicked on the screen to navigate to a new screen.  Then I started talking again.  So the click should be captured at the end of slide 1, and then slide 2 should begin with my next sentence. However, the audio for some reason starts at the end of slide 1, gets cut off mid-word after .5 seconds or so and starts up where it left off on slide 2. Has anyone experienced such a thing before?  I've not changed a single setting or equipment since the last time I recorded a software simulation and it's consistently behaving this way. **I solemnly swear I am NOT starting to talk before clicking.

Greeting everyone! I use Captivate 9.0.0.223 and have been able to download templates and characters from the Assets library, but for weeks now, it's just showing me the error below. Were there any updates that I may have missed re the use of this library? Thank you in advance for your input!

I inexperienced with Captovate and am trying to form an interactive film of sorts for a school project using the software, however when I use interactive buttons, and set their actions, no matter what they also jump back to the two first slides of the film. How do I fix this? PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi, I have created a project and all looks fine in the previews.However, when I publish it, all of the smartshapes and highlights have moved by a few milimetres so they are all showing off-centre. For example, in the image attached, the red smartbox has moved so it is no longer centred over what is meant to be showing. In some of the examples, this looks very odd and jarring. Any ideas?

I'm struggling to figure out how user-entered data and text can be recorded. A bit of background into my problem: I am setting up a project to conduct a survey based on a university research project. The aim being to be able to present the output of this research in an interactive way, after which allow subject matter expert to complete a quick survey to elicit their feedback and critique. Ive set up this survey very nicely in adobe captivate and it looks great and simple for users to follow, but cant get the following user-entered data recorded: User either accept or decline the informed consent agreement.User entered name, organisation, email and short biography. What is the best way of doing this? Additionally, I would like to host/publish this as a single webpage for subject matter experts to easily access and complete the survey without hassle. Thanks, Duncan

Anyone know of a way to restrict users movements in a 360 image? Left and right? In other words I am doing a virtual tour of a facility and need to stop a user from going a certain distance left or right. Thanks in advance!

All of a sudden my png images with transparent backgrounds are only showing up with black backgrounds in Captivate. I thought it was the photoshop at first but when I tried to pull old png images in that showed up fine before, the black background showed up. ANy ideas? Hopefully I am explaining this clearly.

Which settings do you have to make in the LMS export to prevent the learning time and the score from being transmitted to the LMS? Following fields must not be transmitted:cmi.core.total_timecmi.core.session_time cmi.core.score.rawcmi.objectives.n.score.raw Can this be achieved with the existing export settings? The course should also be marked as completed when all pages have been visitedThanks for every hint! 🙂

Hello,We are looking to get the player status (play, pause, stop) from an HTML5 module.  The module launches fine, and we are able to get the status on the slides, but the player status has eluded us.   The module is launched on a MVC/C# site.I've been unable to find documentation on how to achieve this if anyone knows of something they can point me to it would be much appreciated.Thank you

Does anyone know how I could use the quiz feature in Captivate 2019 for medical screening?  A Knowledge Check is not graded, which does not work as I need to know how many "yes" and "no" responses.  A regular quiz does not work, as there really is no right or wrong answer when screening, and quiz questions have a right and wrong answer.  Can this only be done by creating user variables and advanced actions?

Hello,I am having problems installing and running Presenter 11.1.  Here is my system:64-bit PC running Windows 10 Enterprise with 16 GB RAMI originally had a licensed version of Presenter 11 installed on this PC.  But when I first tried to run it, the webcam did not work with the program. I got an error message indicating that my webcam was in use by another application and that I should close that application and try Presenter again.  I could not find any other application that was using the Webcam, but I tried closing every other application anyway.When I tried re-opening Presenter 11, I then got the error dialogue box stating:I decided to uninstall Presenter 11.  I also had two versions of PowerPoint installed on this PC (Office 2013 and Office 2016).  I uninstalled the Office 2016 (since I knew from past experience on another computer that Presenter worked fine with Office 2013).I then tried to re-install Presenter 11.  Installation seemed to go fine.&

Hello All,I am working in Captivate 2019 on a small project with ten slides; six are just text and shapes for instructions, two are click and reveal using simple show actions (except for an execute shared action on the reset buttons to hide all), one is a click and reveal using multistate, and one is drop and drag. The simple click and reveal slides use either buttons or shapes as buttons for the show actions, the multistate uses jpgs, and all the interactive slide have a png file. All the slides have buttons for next and previous, except first has enter activity (still basically next slide) and last has exit button. There is no java script (I do not know how to do that) and no special coding. The first slide is set at no action for enter and exit as I want them to use the enter button to advance to the next slideProblem/question: When I publish to html (not swf) and extract the zip on my computer (with windows 10), I can only view the index.html file on Firefox and Explorer. I suspect I already know the answer to this but worth a shot. Building a module for a client, they are insisting on having a voiceover read the question and the answers for every quiz question. Clicking on the wrong answer provides some audio feedback and clicking the right answer provides some different audio feedback. I have used the on slide load action to trigger the audio. Attached the wrong/right answer audio to the default feedback captions (correct and retry) and set the quiz for infinite attempts. My question is - is there anyway to stop the triggered audio when the user submits their answer? So that the feedback audio plays and the triggered audio is paused? Thanks,
