Captivate

I've been working on a project in which I have several different interactions (click/reveal, drag/drop, etc.) While building one of the drag and drop interactions, it stopped working in all Flash preview modes (F10, F4, F8, F12). What's weird is it still works fine in HTML5 Preview (F11) mode. What's even more weird is that there are other DnD interactions in the same project that still work in all the Flash Preview modes.I also discovered one of my Click and Reveal activities that was working in Flash Preview when I developed it is now not working in any of the Flash Preview modes either, yet is still working fine in HTML5 Preview (F11).As a test, I created a blank content slide immediately after the DnD slide that is not working, then copied and pasted two of the DnD objects from the interaction in question to the new slide, then set them up as a new DnD interaction, and it works fine in Flash Preview mode(?!).I have tried saving my work, closing the project, closing Captivate,

I am moving from SWF published files to HTML published. In SWF we build chapters for a class presentation, after each SWF played, it moved to the next file or chapter of the class. In doing so it reported to our LMS ( proprietary) At the end of each SWf or chapter we included an action script to record completion.In HTML is it possible to build indivudual chapter files like SWF? and have an action script to call the next HTML file

Hello,There are black outlines appearing on my text captions when viewing a course through Chrome. The outline is not active (0 pt) in the project file and does not appear when viewing courses in Explorer or Edge. I have to find out why it appears in Chrome as many people use this browser to view our courses. Thanks

Hi team.I'm here with yet another peculiar problem.1. I published an interactive HTML5 animation using Adobe Animate 2020.2. I imported the .OAM file into Adobe Captivate 2019  via Media - HTML5 animation3. Now, irrespective of the size the animation was created and published in Animate, it gets imported only as small as something shown in the attachment.4. Then, I manually try resizing it by pulling it diagonally.5. Once done, I goto Preview - Project.6. In the preview, all the text are distorted and not visible at all. However, the animation plays and the voice over is audible. Seeking your expertise in guiding how to retain the same text and animation quality while publishing in captivate 2019. regards

Can anyone explain the difference between the 32 bit and the 64 bit? if i was already able to download and install the 64 bit TRIAL version, can i still download and install the 32 bit trial? this is because i've already reached 5 attempts for the 64 bit full version, and there seems to be no other links to download the file. but for 32 bit, i have the installer .7z and .exe files.

I publish in swf because my org has no LMS shoo I use the pdf option. I use these pdfs as a self teach distribution method within a sharepoint.  Since the Pdfs no longer open/run without flash,  is there anyway to work around that to continue to use pdfs?

Hi there! I've created a few simulations in the last few months and the posts here are so helpful! This is my first post 🙂 Let me explain a bit about the software that we're simulating and this specific scenario. Sometimes there are multiple ways of accomplishing the same action. Here's an example. You can add a record to the grid by clicking the Add button (lower-left) or the smaller button with the '+' icon at the upper-right:We would like to add two click boxes to the slide to allow the student to intuitively choose the option they want and successfully continue to the next slide. These are easy to implement and after clicking either of the two buttons the project continues to the next slide successfully. However, we use this as an assessment activity and we can't figure out how to to get the reporting settings right.Even if we select the reporting check boxes linked to both click boxes, the score at the end shows as if the attempt was failed for either of the

I am trying to open a pdf from within captivate in a pop up window using javascript:window.open("https://www.xyz.co.uk/captivate/pdffiles/information.pdf","certificate","height=700,width=1024,left=25,top=25");This works fine as a local desktop copy however, when I run this on the server it trys to open a window like this  https://www.xyz.co.uk/www.xyz.co.uk/captivate/pdffiles/information.pdfwhich obvioulsy fails using the same code with a dummy pdf from a test site works fine on both local copy and server copywindow.open("https://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/tests/xhtml/testfiles/resources/pdf/dummy.pdf","certificate","height=700,width=1024,left=25,top=25"); Any help apreciated Bernie PS: If a captivate developer rreads this............any chance of getting a bigger window to enter code into

I get this error message "Publish Failed"! What is the corrective action? Need your expertise in solving the issue ASAP!! Regards 

Opening Captivate 9 on my mac OS X 10.11, and wanting to import a ppt file to start a new project.It seems to be working fine, opens/closes ppt, and opens screen to select action between slides. Then I get a popup Java window. To use the 'java' command-line too you need to install a JDK.Click "more info..." to visit the Java Developer Kit download website.clicking more info takes me to a spot to download and install Jave v8 update 60 - which doesn't seem to change the behavior of Cap 9.So, what's the deal here and what can I do to get this functionality back.Cheers,Fred

Hi, I am using the trial version of Adobe Captivate 2019. I am unable to trim / split a video inserted in one of the slides.  Does Captivate disable Trim/Split video feature in its trial version, or I am missing out something. Kindly assist. Regards....Muralidhar

I develop a lot of software simulations. Until now I've used Internet explorer because I was able to hide toolbars etc after pressing f11, then snap to window with Captivate. I'd get the same size window resized perfectly just capturing the screen with no toolbars. Well with IE going away, I am forced to use Chrome or Firefox. Although I can snap to window, I cannot get the capture area without the toolbars. When you press F11 with chrome, you can hide the toolbars ( by getting a full screen like IE) but then snap to window doesn't function.I really don't want to manually place the sizing window every time I have to grab screens. thoughts, suggestions?

How can i preview published HTML 5 file? I'm unable to see an HTML 5 option in my published file.

Hi!I used one of the pre-configured projects (Aspire Branching) to just become familiar with Captivate.  However, when I go to add a la carte slides (like an interactive timeline or something), it lets my click on the slide I want and at the bottom, the button says "Insert (1) slide" but then when I click the button, my computer makes that weird sound when it bounces you off because it wouldn't allow the action.  Captivate DOES allow me to insert blank slides from the "Insert" tab at the top, but it won't let me add in the pre-formatted ones from Assets.  Any idea what I'm doing wrong?Thank you for your help!!!

I've made many custom Smart Shape styles. They seem to be listed in chronological order, so when you want to apply a style to a shape, the list of styles in the Properties pane seems very random. Does anyone know how to reorder them? I've searched in the Object Style Manager and can't find anything like an arrow button to do so. Thanks!

I'm using a slide name variable to show the slide name in a Smart Shape. It's working in Chrome, but isn't visible in Edge (very new download/install, so it's the "new version" of Edge). Anyone have any ideas?

At the Quiz Results slide the Review Area Text Box has the option to change Text Font and Size, but not the alignment option. However, the Text Boxes for Default Hint, Success or Failure have this option. Is there a wayto change the Alignment to the Review Area Text?

Is there a chance to change the Default numbering from A) > a)I know you can select the answers and change it in the Quiz tab > Dropdown menu Numbering. However, I don't want to do this everytime. I want my default to be a),b),c)...
