Captivate

Hi,In my captivate project of only one slide. I  have tried to loop a slide using preference => Project => End -> Loop.The slide includes  "Typing Text Animation".The contents of these "Typing Text Animation" start doubling, tripling and so on after every loop. i.e. "About Project" initially and after first loop "About Project About Project" Is there a way to set "Typing Text Animation" to null at the beginning of the slide to mitigate the impact of the loop?Many thanks  

I have a simple javascript var myVideo = $('video');myVideo[0].playbackRate = 0.5; connected to a button on a video in a multiple slide project with fluid boxeds. The added javascript does indeed work and allow users to slow the video down. However, when a user clicks on show closed captions the closed captions are then off-sync with the video. How can I make it that the closed captions slow down/ speed back up depending on whether a user is playing the video at 0.5x or 1.0x?

Morning All,I have a query, which I cannot find an answer for. I am creating some questions for a Quiz. I then want the quiz to be included into a pool. That is normally simply, but some of the questions are like a simulation where they have to perform certain steps to verify they understand the procedure. They get a point at the end of the simulation. My query is:1) Is it possible to add multiple slides as a single question in a question pool?2) Would this allow when setting up a random test allow, if selected, all the simulation to be taken as 1 question. The person who did the original questions added all the single slide questions into a pool, but left the simulation slides separate so that they always appeared in the quiz. Was wondering if this was possible to combine them. ThanksPhil.

Dear Community,I hope somebody will help me to find a solution  (Captivate 9).I need to automatically pause a project if the user opens a new browser window/program and to resume the project if the user comes back to the course.I guess I need some JS with a blur and focus functions but all the test I'm doing don't work 😞 If somebody know how to do it, I really appreciate your help!

I have about 10 computer based training courses that were developed by the community and have not been updated since 2015. These courses use javascript and flash and are written in HTML4 as far as I can tell. I am in the National Guard and we are trying to find CBT's to conduct virtual drills so we can get these guys paid. I have the files that are labeled as HTML documents and I can see all the slides for the courses but I cannot make them run. If I open these files individually I can use and manipulate the slides, I just cannot make them run together.  There is an index file that I believe is how you start the course, but the TextFetcher application is blocked by Java security. I fully admit that this project is way out of my league, but I am willing to try and figure it out.  I am wanting to be able to change these files to a usable format and republish them to the community for use.    Thanks for your help and if I can provide any more information please hit me

Hi! I have just finished my first Captivate project with, videos and a quiz. Since I finished my project I have spent 2 hours trying to understand how I can share it with others. Once I do the entire "Publish to computer" action, I get a aip folder. Inside the folder there is no Icon that can launch the project, so i guess i cant just sent it to a colleague from Wetransfer.com? Instead it seems that people online suggest using SCORM, which i dont quite understand how to. Is there really not a simple way to sent my project to others, or just a link, somehow? (I dont have my own website).  I apologies for probably appearing stupid, and thank You for Your help!

Hello,I'm using Captivate 2017 and in my application I have captured some user entered data on user variables. I would like this data stored in LMS, so I can perform data analytics over them at a later point. I understand using Javascript, this can be accomplished.At the moment, I have my Javascript variables containing user provided data, but do not know how to route them to LMS. I don't know how to establsih the plumbing between Captivate and LMS. The setting page does create that connection, but it routes only Pass/Fail or other pre-defined information. I would like user variables /javascript variables also stored.Any help here is appreciated.Thanks

Hi I am having the above problem, i have read some other threads regarding this error when running with IE 8,9. I understand this problem may be solved by publishing to both HTML5 and SWF output format.But here is my problem, i work for a really big trust with thousands of computers that are using IE 8-9 on the all the computers and also my project is a responsive project. We are working towards responsive projects so as to facilitate staff to take courses wherever they are in order to increase the percentage compliance with their mandatory training. So when i publish my work in responsive my only choice is to HTML5 output, so when i try to run the course on our LMS i get the above (title) error message.Does anyone has any suggestion as to what is the best way i could overcome this problem? All your advice is much appreciated.IT WOULD SAVE SO MUCH TIME IF ADOBE COULD ALLOW RESPONSIVE PROJECTS TO BE PUBLISHED IN BOTH HTML5 & SWF OUTPUT BECAUSE DON'T FORGET A RESPONSIVE PROJECT ALSO

Randomly I have an issue with the time line where an object I am trying to move get placed on the same line with another object. I did not get a screen shot but I will try next time it happens.

Hello.Could you help me, please.When I add a video to the project and trying to play it to find the point to set bookmarks my sound is correct but video looks like slideshow. The CPU load is about 10-15%.GPU the same. I have a lot of space on HDD. But the freezing is always. And after publishing project all problems gone. But I couldn't find the right point to set bookmarks and overlays. Could you advise to me what to do.

I am currently creating some SCORM packages for a client for use in Cornerstone on demand.I have tested the packages using both Moodle and Scorm cloud and they work as expected. However my client is telling me that in Cornerstone, if a user goes back in to the package after it has been marked as completed the user is taken to the last slide as opposed to starting from the beginning.  I have set 'set exit to normal after completion' in captivate which works perfectly in Moodle and Scorm cloud.  The only thing that seems to work for Cornerstone is setting 'never send resume data' to true in Captivate, however this of course means that the user cannot re-start where they left off if they quit prematurely.  I have also tried multiple combinations of other settings to no avail. The client has also told me that there are no additional settings for SCORM packages in Cornerstone beyond a browser compatibility option. Good morning! I'm using the latest Captivate 9 and came across a problem. When I publish the Captivate file to HTML5, the text to speech feature works great in normal speed but when I fast forward, the text to speech is disabled until I return to normal speed. Do I need to convert the text to speech to another file format for this to work when fast forwarding? I toggled the mute button and that did nothing.  I appreciate any help!

. I need help recording tutorials for work using video demo and uploading to Vimeo or YouTubes. I can’t seem to preset to 1080 or upload at 1080. When recorded they are crisp, after upload they are blurry and not 1080 ever. Can you please help?

With so many educators now forced to try and educate students through various distance learning methods, (many states for the remainder of the school year) this should be made widely available to staff and students in a more cost effective manner.  Alternatives like Camtasia do exist, but we are already loyal paid subscribers to the Adobe suite and shocked to find this still nearly $399 annually for education!

HI All,I am not that familiar with variables / advanced actions / conditional actions - I have been trying to get up to speed and have watched many tutorials but i am not sure what I am trying to do is possible -I have a "Next" button I have created using a Smart Shape. I would like the "Next" button to be viewable, however, I would like it to be "Disabled" until the user completes 100% of viewing the slide - then, I would like this button to be enabled to move onto the next slide.I am able to hide the next button, and use the timeline to make it appear at the end of the slide - which I made as a "work around" - but just curious if the above can be done.I am not sure about the process in going about it despite reading the Adobe help, forums, and utube videos.Anyone have an idea? I am looking for a step-by-step given my unfamiliarity. Thanks!

When I finish adding my definitions to the glossary widget, it displays on the slide like this. Even if I make the widget box itself enormous, the glossary stays this size. Is this is a bug or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.  

Hello,I am working on an eLearning with audio and no quizzing that will have three branches and wonder what is the most efficient way to get this done. I am using Adobe Captivate 2019 11.5.1.499. All three branches are identical for the first 5 slides. On slide 6, users will be able to choose one of three paths. Slides 7-65 will be different for each path, although some slides will be identical in all three paths (for example, slides 10-14 and 55-62 are identical). I have run into problems when copying slides among the paths because the slide notes copy over and when I edit them, I change the slide notes for the initial created path. When I have tried the approach of creating three separate projects and then bringing them together at the end, I have run into the error that I am trying to add a deleted object objType = 154. Any suggestions?Thanks in advance

I'm becomng very well versed in using shapes for interactivity in Captivate - but I'm wondering if it's possible to replace the default submit button formats (text/transparent/image) on quiz slides with a smart shape?  My client would like to see a submit button with rounded corners and specific styling. I could go build the button as separate images and load them into the gallery, but it would be much simpler if I could create it as a smart shape button.  I did find an older thread on this, but no answer as to whether it's possible with the submit button.  I couldn't find any suggestions on a google search either - so I expect it's not an option.  I thought it might be worth a shot asking in the community though...  Thanks!Brian 

So,  I purchased Adobe Captivate 7 back in 13.  I want to load it up on a new laptop.  However, the links that I have used on several occassions for downloading do not work.  Any suggestions?  

How do i pre-set or ensure that the video demo i record for vimeo or youtube will always be 1080 quality?

On the fifth slide of my project I have seven buttons to press before the 'next button appears. The first timne I hit the next button; the screen flashes white and the slide refreshes. If I try clicking the buttons a second time; I get to the fifth or sixth button and the screen flashes white and the slide resets again. I've tried previewing the project from after this slide, in which case it gets even stranger: It will let me view no more than two slides before the next button simply doesn't do anything. The only clue I have is may variable for number of total slides which should be a static variable (cpInfoSlideCount - 3) set on the first slide. It should equal 17, however when I preview from slide 6 it seems to be reading the current slide number instead (it increases by 1 on the next two slides). Has anyone seen anything like this before? I'm completely lost.

I'm trying to re-install Captivate on a new machine and I'm receiving this message when I enter my 2019 serial number: I tried using the online chat but it is basically useless and the 800 number closed on weekends.
