Captivate

I started a new project in Captivate 2017 and wanted to edit the play-bar. But I saw that the Layout and Position options of the Play-bar are grayed out. It is locked atPosition : BottomLayout : StretchedHence I cannot move my play-bar around. I tried choosing all the default skins in Captivate 2017, but still these two options are grayed out. How do I make them editable?

I'm having issues with Captions in developement. When I save and close a project and then return to it later, there are several captions that are not showing up. I have to physically click on all of the captions to get them to appear. Otherwise, when I preview or publish, they are not on the screen. Is this a bug? See below:

Hello,Can I get some opinions on using Adobe Review (is that what's it's called?? The review process for having colleagues who do not have CP review and comment on your lessons). I remember trying is once a few years ago and didn't get that far. We are looking for a new e-learning software and I'd like to get CP because I know it, but my team being able to review my work is very important.Thanks,Tanya

Hello,I am recording some software simulations and when I click, it does not record the slide. It will record typing, and it will capture if I set up a capture hotkey, but clicks do nothing. I checked preferences and didn't find anything that controlled this, and I even tried deleting the preferences folder and reinstalling Captivate 9. I haven't recorded a simulation in several months so I'm not sure when it stopped working

Does anyone know if it is possible to import a published Zipped file from Captivate back into to the Captivate program?  I have a number of projects where the cptx file was lost, but the zipped files are there, and edits are required. Thanks in advance for any help.Dave

I've got a user whose trying to take a pretty standard slideshow they've imported, and they're trying to add audio to it with Captivate version 9 (most updated as of 8/6/2018).  We've also tried it on version 10 (again, most updated as of 8/6/2018), but both versions seem to give the types of semi-consistent issues.  When trying to record audio, we click the Record button, and about 30+ seconds later, we get the dialog box.  We auto-calibrate the mic, then click the Record button in the dialog.  Again, 30+ seconds later, we get the 3, 2, 1.. and try to record.We talk, and talk, and say words, words, words...and then don't see any wave forms built, the counter counts until we hit stop, but they we don't get any audio record, and often get some sort of 'internal error' from the application.This is a Windows 10 laptop, with full updates, including the 1803 update(s).  It is a PC that's been encrypted with DESlock, not Bitlocker.I've tried building another laptop (

HelloI have created a simple simulation in Captivate 9 using screenshots.I have created the accessibility keyboard focus (tab order) and published the output as HTML5.The keyboard focus is working find in Chrome. But whereas in Firefox the keyboard focus area is out of place or enlarged. Attached is the screenshot for reference.Can you please help us to fix this issue in Firefox.Thanks Veera

Hello, I am creating .OAM HTML5 animations in Animate CC then inserting them as HTML animations in Captivate. I want the animation to remain behind certain objects. On setup of the slide when I say send to back the animation looks great and then when I preview it automatically goes in front of everything else on the slide. Does anyone know a setting to actually make the animation send to back and stay there when it is previewed and published too?

I'm using Captivate 2017 and working on a project for a client who wants videos (MP4) in the course. We have found that the videos will not autoplay when viewing the course in Chrome or Safari but will in Edge.I know there is a fix that requires replacing of a file or something but it appeared that there were mixed results. I'm wondering if there is a more sure fix to this issue. We would really like to add event videos that autoplay. Thanks in advance.

The layout of a couple of slides in this course is inconsistent. Two views of one slide are shown below. Please help me understand what is causing this issue and how to resolve it...This is a non-responsive course built in Captivate 2017.The image below shows the slide layout as designed in Captivate; it looks the same when previewed in Captivate, and this is what I expected to see in the LMS.However, the image below shows how this slide displays in the LMS (SuccessFactors LMS) Note that the woman appears partly off-screen on the right edge.

I know Captivate 2017 is backward compatible w/ Captivate 9.  Is the same true for Captivate 2017 and Captivate 6.  We are looking at upgrading our Captivate but we don't want to lose the ability to edit those CBTs we have already done. 

I have a large Captivate 4 project (over 100 slides and file size is 181MB) that will not update. It runs through the updating process for a few minutes but then crashes. I have tried updating using Captivate 5, 5.5, and 6. I suspect that it is a limitation due to size, back in those early days there was a known issue with project sizes. Is there anyway I can get a copy of Captivate 4 to install while I try to open the file? If I can open the project long enough to split it up, it would be a great help.

Again,  something that's so simple in other applications takes an hour of research when using Cp: I have a better version of a photo and I want to overwrite the old one that's already in the project--how do I do it? Don't tell me delete the old and replace the new in its exact spot and put in all the timing and effects. (If you call this rapid elearning--I'd like to know what a slow elarning program looks like)

Hello,I have some apps in FLASH which I want to convert with all funcionalities to HTML5 (or create from scratch in Captivate 9, if I were sure that the result has the same funcionalities). I wanted to do it with some older versions of Adobe Captivate, but it was not possible then - I had more advanced actions in my FLASH than I could achieve in HTML5. I would like to know if someone of you tried to do this with Adobe Captivate 9 and succeed? Is it possible to achieve my goal with this version, or should I wait for the next one? Or maybe can you recommend me any other solution? I would be grateful for any help.Alice

I just downloaded CP5 trial version to see what's new.  Is it just me or is it really buggy?I received 'Adobe Captivate has stoped working' half a dozen times but managed to convert a small CP4 project (35 slides not a lot of animation or voice over) and tried to preview it.  I got the message 'your computer does not have sufficient memory resource to publish your file'.  I'm working on a new laptop with 4 GB of ram and I still get that message even when I kill everything else and only have Captivate running.  I'm working with Windows 7 on 64-bit OS.  Has anyone else run into this?  How much memory does CP5 draw?Needless to say I won't be upgrading any time soon...Best,Aimee

Hi, i was trying to create a crossword in captivate with Text entry boxes and a button that check all the values in the tebs.Now, sometimes it work and show me the correct message (giusto_8) and sometimes any if all the value are right is show me the wrong message. It seems a random thing. Any help?

Hey, I am trying to create a custom fill-in-the-blank question with multiple blanks. To test things out, I started with two TEBs. First of all, I created two variable to keep the points per blank (v_points) and the score in total (v_scoreNow). I gave both of them 0 value. After creating those two TEBs (Text_Entry_Box_2 and 3, I didn't bother to rename them for now), I entered "correct one" to validate user input for the first blank, and "correct" for the second blank just to test things out. Hi,Current updated Cptivate 9 , scorm html5.I've looked around on the forum how to handle my issue. I found the following forum, which helped and turned a light on in my head, but my problem still needs to be tailored more.....Need to Click All Click Boxes to Continue So, what I have already are 6 click boxes using shared advanced action to show the appropriate images and text boxes, and hide the unwanted objects. These work as expected. The client has required to use the captivate play bar they've used in previous courses, but to hide it on this slide on enter until all click boxes are clicked.I considered changing the advanced actions to use their own personalized conditional actions by way of variables to show the play bar. (using the 'if 1 =1' concept) However, there seems to be conflict with the original intended show hide object actions. In other words I cant think of a way to show the playbar when all click boxes are clicked AND show/hide the objects as they already are set to d

I just want to verify something I am seeing in Captivate 2107. Not sure if this happened earlier versions.Are advanced actions the only way to put actions on a button that will not change Captivate's play state (playing or paused)?I tried to describe the problem below but it is a little abstract, so here is a Captivate file as an example to help:Dropbox - actions_VS_advancedActions.cptx If I add a Smart Shape or Button to the stage and check the "Use as Button" option, then depending on which action I choose, I can get the "Continue Playing the Project" option. I also get the "Pause After" option on the timing tab. I am using the Hide and Show actions and they both have the "Continue Playing the Project" option.So a button can either stop Captivate from playing by having a pause added to it under timing or by clicking on it when the "Continue Playing the Project" option is UNchecked.Conversely a button can make Captivate begin playing if the "Continue Playing the Project" option is CHE

I asked this question last week and now I can't seem to find it anywhere.Anyways, I created a template for one of my programs as a Blank Master Slide that I will be using for every slide of the program. I used smart shapes as buttons and set up the rollover and down states as well. However when I exit the Master Slide view these buttons don't appear to be working. Is there any sort of trick to make master slide button work?

Lol I know I've asked a lot of questions today but I think this one's the last. Now upon Lilly's advice, I tried to create a custom question. First of all I created a blank text entry box and assigned it to quesOne variable. I made quesOne variable empty. Then I created another variable named scoreNow to keep the current score and then I made a submit button from custom shapes and I entered this advanced action in it.https://ibb.co/czAxOz What I wanted to test was "if the user enters "you" in that text area, it will assign the empty variable scoreNow with 3 plus total points in the test. Then after adding that 3 points for this question it will assign that value to system variable cpQuizInfoPointsscored. Yet somehow it didn't work.Where did I make a mistake?
