Captivate

Hi. This is so close what I need to do.  I want to take a solid rectangle and have it fill as a function of how many slides have been clicked; this will be overlayed by client text box where letters are transparent. (So, if on slide 6 of 10, then 60% of rectangle will fill under the letters.)I have watched your blogs on using # and % calculations; is there any way to correlate your work with a physical image such as this? The progress bar would have to be a fixed size to accommodate the client text box. You're as close to what I need as I've seen in hundreds of blog pages! I didn’t realize how complex this really is! Hello -I have created Advanced Actions that involve clicking a Smart Shape Button and having a Smart Shape appear with more information about the text in the button. There are 7 Smart Shape Buttons that click and show 7  Smart Shapes with information. This is all working fine.However, I would like the learner to be able to go back and click on a previous Button and have the correct text show up. But I can only seem to click each button once.I have played with states and a variety of Advance Actions. Does anyone have some suggestions?Thanks,Kris Beisel

I run over 100 courses in a  LMS.  All made with captivate all with hTML5....One course wont work on Firefox but is fine everywhere else...All other courses work fine as well on firefox...What am i missing?

I had updated Flash this morning and now I am getting this Warning every single time I preview a slide, etc. Is there a way to disable it entirely? It shows every single time I preview.

I am new to Captivate and trying to add an interactive slide.I have six buttons. The user clicks a button and a paragraph shows up (on the same slide) with more details on the item.When the slide plays, all six paragraphs show up instead of waiting until a button is clicked.I have set up the Show/Hide action for each button and assigned the action to the buttons.How do I keep the paragraphs from showing up until the button is clicked?

Dear Team,We are using the Captivate 9 for course development. When the course is published as AICC content format and tested in Workday Learning LMS the "WriteToDebug is undefined" error throws in the system. The course is not loading. Also, tried in publishing the content type as both HTML and Flash based output. However, the issue still occurs. So, as I continue to learn the concept of responsive design, a few questions have to my mind with regards to screen sizes.I've been experimenting with both breakpoints and fluid boxes, so I have questions on both options.The standard screen ratio for desktops is 16:9, which, scaled upward is 1024 x 576. So is there a reason that the default Desktop view in both Fluid Boxes and Breakpoint modes is set to 1024 x 627?Similarly, the screen size on an iPhone 6 is 375 x 667. However, the default screen size for the iPhone 6 in Fluid Boxes is 375 x 559. Again, is there a reason for this?Let's say I design for an iPhone 6, and the end user is using an iPhone 5. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 5 have different screen sizes, but the scale is the same. will the content scale down accordingly?

Hello!I have encountered an issue I can't explain in Captivate 2017, save perhaps by stability issues on the LMS' side, and even that seems improbable to me.Basically, I made a custom activity, kept the score of the (complex) activity into a variable, and I have one specific slide whose purpose is to change the variable into a score using hidden buttons: a Javascript code reads the variable mentioned above, which ranges 0-10, and presses a number of hidden buttons equal to the score through the cp.SubmitInteractions() function.For most people, everything works fine.For a few people, nothing gets reported to the LMS. the buttons do not report to the LMS, and when they get to the Results slide, they see their score (which works fine), but nothing is reported to the LMS once again.Thus, when they get to the Conclusion slide and press the Exit button, the module does not register as Completed, and when they go back to the module, they are put back to the Conclusion slide and the only optio

I have published a training in Adobe Captivate 9 as HTML5 and now the audio is not working in Google Chrome but works in Firefox

HII've inserted a .mp4 video onto a slide. The video is auto starting; however, I'd like the video to only start playing after the user clicks a play button.  I don't see where I can make this change on the Properties panel.I inserted the video using these instructions:1. Video -> Insert Video2. Multi-slide sync'd video -> Browse (and then picked the .mp4 file I wanted)3. Modify slide duration to accommodate video was checked offI used these instructions as I need to add closed captioning to the video and was instructed that this was how I needed to set it up for the cc to work.Thanks, Marion

I have just begun using Captivate and when I went to publish my first 12 files, I published them in .cptx. I have found that these will only play if you have Captivate on your computer. How do I transfer and republish these Captivate PowerPoint presentations into mp4 mode so that they will play on all of my teams computers?

Unsure if this has been asked as I couldn't find the relevant issue in the forum...Situation:One a single slide, there are four panels with several smart shape buttons scattered all over. I have created simple advance actions for each button (simple advance is all my brain can handle at the moment) so that (1) the panels where the activated button lie turn white, (2) corresponding smartshape text box pops up and (3) other SS text boxes are hidden.Problem:The first button I click (it doesn't matter which/where), everything works. The next button clicked, states do not work but popups do.So if I click on training/handover, the text pops up, develop/design/originate turn white. Well and good. I click contracts, popup shows but panels all remain white. I have a feeling I am missing an extra action?I've attached the visuals.I just started using states today so apologies.Help?

Using Captivate 4 on a Dell Latitude XT running Vista. Here is the Skinny! When I make a multiple choice quiz, the question slides look fine in filmstrip mode but when I preview or publish the quiz, the letters of each answer choice overlapps the actual answer text.

When I try to cancel my subscription/avoid autorenewal, Adobe says I have to contact customer support via online chat, and then does not provide any link to the supposed chat.I have already been billed because I went over the renewal date while I was trying to find a way to contact support. Needless to say, all Adobe's emails are sent from no-reply addresses.Making it hard to cancel or even access support is very, very scammy and indicative of a dying company that's trying to conserve revenue as its hemorrhages customers.

I have been creating modules in English, then copying them and translating them to Spanish. I create a small file that asks the learner if they want to go to the English or Spanish main module.This has worked fine until I updated a file this week from 8 to 2017. I put it in my LMS to test it and "passed" my course in the LMS simply by choosing a language. I had a long chat with Adobe today and despite trying a number of changes to how the files connect to each other by loading them to the LMS and connecting within the LMS and the MultiScorm packager.So, Captivate Hive Mind, how are you successfully allowing your learners to select their language on a splash screen and then take a full (1 hour+) module? They need to not get credit for the course unless they pass the test at the end.

Hello, I am at am impasse so I am sending this to the CP gods and goddess.I have an "I need a hint" button appear on the slide, for remediation, when students choose the wrong (false) option on a concept checking slide.Here is the advanced action for the 'I need a hint' button:However, no matter what I do, I cant get the 'play audio' file to play when the button is clicked, and it jumps to the correct slide, slide 7.Any advice or direction would be helpful.Thank you.

I need to create a landing page with different language options for the same course that can be loaded as one single LMS-ready package.My solution had been to create the same course in each of the languages, export them as .exe and then create an outstanding Captivate file with links to each of the languages as "open file/URL", but I have been experiencing errors in trying to do this.I saw one person propose writing an HTML index page linking to each. I like the idea of this, but I do not know how this would work in an LMS.Another idea would be to create a single Captivate project as outlined here: Multiple Language Options in a Single Course with Adobe Captivate 5.5 « Rapid eLearning | Adobe Captivate Blog -- But for the inability to localize the playbar/TOC within each language, I am avoiding it.What are my options here?

So, I get why Captivate converts an mp3 to a wav file. But as I understand it, it's not supposed to use those wav files when it publishes. I replaced all of my wavs with mp3s to lower the published file size, but have barely seen any difference whatsoever. My HTML5 zip folder was around 61000KB when I was using wavs and since I replaced them with mp3s, the size has only decreased to 59000. I was expecting it to drop far more drastically. The only thing I can figure is that when Captivate copied all my mp3s to wav files it also decided it was going to publish the wavs. Is there a way to prevent it from using the .wav file when publishing?Alternatively, could the cause of the bloating be something unrelated to the audio files?

In Captivate 2017, when I reduce the size of my browser window, my presentation scales down to match the width of my browser (which is what I want).  However, the TOC does not scale, and extends below the content - even though I only have a few entries in the TOC.  What am I doing wrong?  Is there a way to make the TOC not extend past the content?  Thanks.

I made an Advanced Action (AA) with 5 'assign' actions and 1 'Jump to slide' action (see below). The AA is triggered by a button.When I am playing the project and click this button nothing happens. I have to press the button 4 times before the AA is triggered / that is the desired effect of the AA is there. When I remove the 'assign' actions from the AA the button and AA works as they should. With one click the AA is triggered and shows the desired effect.Does anybody has any clue what this could be? Thanks a lot.I am using 10.01.285 on OSX, with CpExtra and publish to html5. I tried many things, but nothing works so far. Also tried an AA with only 3 'assign' actions or with 15 'assign' actions, same result. I also tried assigning a different value than 0, same result.

When my employees try to listen to online training, some of them cannot hear the audio when they are using IE11 - everything runs fine except the audio. However, when we ask them to use Chrome or Firefox, they can hear the audio just fine. Could this be an ActiveX filter problem or something else? IT and I are racking our brains to figure out what may be going on. Not everyone in IE11 is having this problem, just a small portion of them. Any ideas? Is it a setting within IE or could it be the LMS we are running the content through (which is Taleo).  Thanks!
