Hi,I imported CHAD puppet into Character Animator and would like to edit it in illustrator. When I click on edit original it takes me to photoshop. Is there a way to get it open in illustrator instead?
Hi there! I've been editing my character in Illustrator with the Character Animator app open, but when I save the character in Illustrator and it updates in Animator, my character won't move with my face on the webcam. I tried using a pre-existing character to see if my webcam was maybe broken, but it's functioning fine. I noticed that when I'm in the "Rig" section, I don't see all the layers of my character- just "Layer 1", but it doesn't expand to anything. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Edit: I fixed it. I found one of Okay Samurai's videos where he addressed this specific issue. My "Head" was "+Head" making it independent of the body. I'm still not sure why the body could not be pinned down, but that's a question for another time. I've left the original text below in case this problem shows up for anyone else. The two sample characters Anime Rin and Wizard Heather are torsos with hair behind the shoulders. I'd like to do the same with my character, Nick. I'm not sure if that's important or not, but it seems that the Neck element has to be part of the Head element. YouTube videos are a great help for much of this, but I just cannot seem to get this one simple function to work.Yes, I'm a noob. This is my first puppet. I removed most of what I didn't need to keep this one problem isolated. The head, neck, and body float when I make the AI layer a part of the Head group:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZIpzLSDsMPI3
I used character animator for a week and everything worked, but now when I try to record or play, it just doesnt work. I even tried to use some premade characters, and nothing would record or play. I can still build my puppet, and everything else seems to work. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I made sure updates were current. I'm just stuck, help!
Hello everyone, I'm using Character Animator with two different camera capture tools (Mokose USB3.0 HDMI/SDI Video Capture Card and Magewell USB Capture HDMI) and getting the same results: my video has the wrong aspect ratio. The camera feed appears "squished" in 4:3 mode, when it should be 16:9. I've used both of these capture tools with other software (Wirecast, for example), and they work just fine there. In the screenshot below, you'll see how the video is squished. I'm holding a roll of tape, which should be perfectly round; instead, it's oval shaped. I can't find any setting in CA to change this. And when I switch to my computer's FaceTime camera, the video output appears normal (4:3 aspect ratio, but not "squished."). Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong here? Thanks in advance for everyone's help. -Brian
I am teaching 2nd graders and want to do this for Zoom. I've seen EXCELLENT tutorials on YouTube and have everything up and running great on a MacBook Pro. HOWEVER...since the puppet's mouth is triggered by my voice(headset mic), I see that the puppet's mouth moves to ANY AUDIO, like music, or sound effects or the kids on the Zoom call. How can I have the puppet speak when I do and still be able to hear the kids without their sounds moving the character's mouth? Thanks!
HiNew to this so I'm still finding my way round.I need 3 - 5 characters which are ready to go in Character Animator so I can create some very short pieces to add to a training video. I'm a trainer not an animator but I've used iMovie a lot so I am familiar with the timeline and how the tracks interact. What I'm not familiar with is character creation, so I'm looking for a source so that I can simply import them to Animator and then animate them using the facial mocap. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks in advanceSteve
Hello everyone, I have just about finished creating 5 scenes about 5 minutes long each in character animator. I have six characters walking and talking, backgrounds, music, and sound effects. Now its time to put all the scenes together in after effects to create my first episode. This has been a lot of work. I use import and dynamic link. I bring in everything that shows and thats when I have problems. I skip every two frames and a quarter like Ok Samurai suggest and it will barely play. I know that it has to render but that will take forever and will that happen evertime I make a change. Whats the best way to do this? I feel like there has to be a better way to keep moving. somebody help!!

When recording the face Track Behaviour, the Face moves the body and the body moves the arms at the shoulder but then they move up like a action figure. is there a way for them to stay fixed at the wrists and let the elbows and shoulders move. So it seems there is weight to the arms? In my case, the forearms should be resting on the arm of a chair, But when I record the arms move up with the body,
Hello! I am a bit stuck. I watched tutorials and created a puppet of myself, all of my visemes look correct but when I test it the puppets mouth just opens and closes without any 'pronunciation' or using visemes. I am not sure if it is lagging? It works effectively when I smile, but when I talk, my mouth just opens and closes and not even close to syncing. I am new to this program and looking for advice. The other tutorials I have used, I have not had any problems with and I did watch https://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-character-animator/using/characterizer.html but could not find a fix. Any help greatly appreciated! thanks! Grace
Hi, I'm just learning character animator and I can't find a solution to the issue of making my layers work in unison in the timeline with the walk behavior. When I hightlight the 3 layers (foreground, character, background) only one red "armed" icon displays. Each layer will work with the directional arrows on their own, but not together. I'm sure it's some easy solution that is right in front of me, but as I said, brand new at this. Thank you.
I am working on adobe character animationI can not record my audiowhen I talk I do not see a green audio mixer show upAlso, my webcam and my microphone icon is blueI have Windows 10
Hi All, Hope you can help, as I'm a new starter in the world of animation and just wanted help on 3 things please. 1. I have created a puppet in Character Animator (photoshop), whereby I have imported an animated desk onto the scene aswell. The problem is I cannot get the desk to go infront of the puppet, as I want the sence to look like the puppet is sitting down behind the desk. 2. How do I get my puppet to point at the screen please? 3. How do I get my puppet to move both arms/hands at the same time please? Thank you
Occasionally when exporting 20 sequences in a row via Media Encoding (control-M on windows, H.264, match input bitrate) it starts failing to encode after successfully doing 10 or so of them. I get a bleating sheep/goat, and yellow triangle icon saying the encoding failed, and an error like the following at the end of the log. - Source File: C:\Adobe\Creative Cloud Files\Extra Ordinary\Ep1 - Friendship\_Projects\Ch Ep1 Friendship\Ch Ep1 Friendship.chproj - Output File: C:\Adobe\Renders\Ep1 Friendship\videos\2\2-1-2.mp4 - Preset Used: Match Source - High bitrate - Video: - Audio: - Bitrate: - Encoding Time: 00:00:0001/29/2018 12:35:43 PM : Encoding Failed------------------------------------------------------------Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted. Each following one queued up also fails. I stop Media encoding, the exit the window and launch it again to try starting up the encoder again. It continues to fail.I exit all Adobe products (Ch,
Thank you for any adviceI am wondering if there is anywhere that has more animations like Maximo offers. Do any of the adobe products come with a bank of movements? The Mixamo movements are great but there are many movements that I can't find that I would like.Any tips or advice on this would be appreciated. I know that I could learn to animate myself but I'm hoping to find a bank of movements that would have everything I need. Or a tool that is very easy to use to create movements.Thank you!
Hello CA team. I hope I haven't been flooding the forums too much lately with all my posts. I've been thinking about this one for a while whne it comes to integration with AE. I have multiple puppets talking to each other all the time and definitely need them in the same scene for proper eye responses and general pacing but would really love to important the scene with all the puppets as layers with the transform properties. Other wise I have to copy each puppet into it's own scene and anchor points get messy since the puppet is a scene at the larger export size than the layer size. It'd be amazing to have the puppets in a scene as layers with their own dimensions and that layer itself is moving. Right now if I move a character from own end of the frame to the other the transform properties are for the entire scene size rathen defining the size of the puppet and its maximum reach that moves across the screen. I'm sorry if this is confusing TT TT
I have a mothers day project I am making and finished it but for some reason I am getting this error code 405861230:237+36. I was having problems exporting to adobe media encoder and saved what I could before restarting my pc. Upon restarting, media encoder works but now character editor says for one of my puppets it cannot find one of the visemes (oh) and theres is an error adn it wont load. I can click on the puppet and click "edit original" and everything is there in photoshop. Even the viseme that it seems no to be able to find. Also none of my other scenes will export. That is where I get the error code above. What can I do? I am using Adobe Character Animator 2020 version 3.2 I believe on Windows 10 Update - I ended up redoing the puppet that wouldnt load in photoshop from an older version of the file and imported that into character animator. After that, everything worked and exported as it should!
Hello,i would like to know how to save your work in character animator.
Hello, I've been trying to get a fidget spinner to be a prop that spins around my character's finger. I've done a lot of trial and error and it would even work at times but the performance wouldn't record properly. Any thoughts? Hinge is perfect for this and would to get it to work. Thank you!
What is a proper way of naming puppet layers in Illustrator to have it auto-tagged as its respective parts in Charactera Animator? I have named an eye as an eye or a blink layer as blink for example, but it's not auto-tagged as eye/blink when imported to Character Animator and it makes me have to rename everything manually, which is time-consuming. Thanks!
