Hi,I'd edit my cffile discussion but it won't let me for some reason.I had been using cffile locally but I realized I probably need to use CFFTP.  My question is, when I create a file filed in a form, how do I connect that to a CFFTP putfile action?  Like, what do I put after localfile = and remotefile = if the file is coming from a form?  And can i use nameConflict = "MakeUnique" within the CFFTP putfile action?Thanks,MIkeedit: so now I'm learning that cfftp only uploads files from the coldfusion server to the directory.  What if I have a web host and don't control the coldfusion server?  Is there still a way for a user to upload an image onto my site?  What information would I need from my web host to do this?

I have a site where users can fill out reports.  The admins have the ability to control the questions.  So, I'm using GetSafeHTML() when I show the questions because there are some questions that have bulletted lists and EncodeForHTML when displaying the answers.  That all works fine when displaying the questions and answers to the screen.  However, the user also has the option to save the report as a pdf.  I'm using cfdocument to create the pdf.  My problem is that anything with GetSafeHTML is showing the html (ie <ul><li>, etc.) for the list instead of just displaying the bulleted list.Anyone else having similar problems?  Any thoughts on work arounds?  I am thinking of using IsSafeHTML and only displaying if it is safe and no longer using GetSafeHTML to display.  Anyone deal with this differently?

As I look for hosting for my website, I have been asked if I want ColdFusion 11 or ColdFusion 2016.  The ColdFusion project I have was done while I was in school in the fall of 2016 and I am not sure which version it was done in. Is there any way to tell? I no longer have access to the school server.Thank you!

I have a 500 page document that is styled with css. The cfdocument tag is working perfectly to produce the styled text. When I add cfdocumentsections to get bookmarks, the css no longer works.I am using CF 9,0,1,274733 Enterprise on IIS7. The content is contained in Mura.

I created a fun utility for employees of my company by which I use the RandRange function in Coldfusion to choose an area restaurant for people standing around wondering where to go for lunch.  Believe it or not, it has taken hold and people are using it to choose where to eat at company locations around the country.The code queries the database for all possible restaurant selections for a given company location. I use the randRange function with the dbQuery.RecordCount value to determine the chosen record number.Then I loop over the restaurant query comparing the dbQuery.currentRow value to the randomly generated number from earlier.  If the currentRow equals the randomly generated number, it is displayed as today's choice.  Everything seems to work great with the RandRange function in the scope of a single user / single PC.Now the issue a co-worker and I discovered recently (and fortunately I'm not using RandRange for any other real purpose):When we both reload the pag

I have an application that uploads files and it works great.But when the user selects a file to upload the user cant tell that they have selected a file to upload.See here. The user has selected a file but there is no indication of this.See how in this example I can see the selected file to upload...upload.pngHow do I show the selected file?

I have a scheduled task in CF 10. It has been running successfully however, now it runs but actually it does not. The scheduler log says it is triggering but actually does not. When the task's URL accessed directly from browser the CF page actually get executed.The scheduled task calls all other tasks using CFHTTP.Any advise would be of great help on what could be the issue with scheduled task. I have restarted the CF instance with no success. The log set in the task says "Connection Failure".

Hi All,  I'd like to create a Coldfusion program that will generate a fillable PDF form (it's a ticket for a draw) that can be downloaded and filled out offline.  Basically I have a form template that I want to customize for different organizations, so I created a PDF form in LibreOffice and then I have Coldfusion fill in the parts of the for Organization Name, Address, Phone Number, and insert an uploaded logo graphic.  So my logic flow is:   HTML form that asks for organization name, address, phone number and upload of logo.      |     V   This information is merged into the PDF form I created (the ticket).   (There are additional form fields in the ticket for the name of the person who bought the ticket, their address, phone, etc.)     |    V   PDF document is downloaded to a local computer, and then offline, a person fills in the remaining fields wh

i need to maintain session data between sub domainsyou can do this easy by setting:this.setdomaincookies="yes"works perfectly because the cfid and cftoken cookies domain is set to ".domain.com" instead of "whatever.domain.com"here is the problem. we are using J2EE sessions.so the cookie that we need to have its sub domain blank is the JSESSIONIDthis cookie is not set to ".domain.com" it remains "whatever.domain.com"if i try to manually create the cookies by setting setclientcookies to false a very odd thing occurs. when i set the value to session.sessionid, the resulting value is set to for example: " F29D7D74818F64478776A879964C7E05%2Ecfusion", see how it has replaced the "dot" with "%2E"i think this causes the brains to mark it as an invalid cookie so it creates another one, which then has its own valid value but does not work for us because its now its own session. i read some stuff about editing the jrun-web.xml to fix this one million years ago but i cant find that file on cf2016.

Hello, all,A co-worker is working on a project whereby the client has a folder with sub-folders and files that _can_ go several levels deep.  Client wants to make these files available to users for them to download, and does not want to bother with storing the files in a database.Are there any CFCs or code samples that show how to display folders as expandable DIVs that will have expandable DIVs for recursive folders and links for the actual files that users can click and download, keeping the folder structure?V/r,^ _ ^

Hello,I have a brand new workstation with a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro. I installed ColdFusion Server 2018 (CF + Tomcat Bundle for the application server) along with ColdFusion Builder 2018. All works fine. In previous versions of ColdFusion (10 & ?) that I have installed on other workstations and the 5 associated ColdFusion services did show up under Windows Services and from there I was able to control the startup type there. With my new install I don't see these services. In ColdFusion Builder 2018 you have the option to edit the server and from there I have selected "Use Windows Service to Start/Stop the Server" but still no luck. I ultimately want ColdFusion Server 2018 to automatically startup when the computer is turned on so I don't have to manually start through ColdFusion Builder 2018.Thanks in advance,Kirk

I'm using Canonicalize to check url's and have run into a problem.  For some reason, &ne seems to always be translated as ≠ even in situations where that is not expected nor appropriate.  For example:<cfset varURL = "www.mySite.com/myPage.cfm?someVar=abc&newVar=1" /><cfset varCheck = Canonicalize(varURL,true,true)/>The value of varCheck will be "www.mySite.com/myPage.cfm?someVar=abc≠wVar=1", not "www.mySite.com/myPage.cfm?someVar=abc&newVar=1" as I'm expecting.It seems to make this translation anytime that a URL variable (other than the first one following the ?) starts with "ne". Other than renaming the URL variables that start with "ne", is there a fix for this problem?I'm running CF2016 Update 6.

Greetings all,Doing some work on an interface here at my site, and the Infrastructure people want me to use ADFS rather than going to individual Active Directory Servers.  I have Coldfusion 2016 installed here, and have been using the CFLDAP call to do my authentication to those  AD servers.  I made the assumption that I could probably use the ADFS server in similar fashion, but that appears to not be the case.So, the question is:  Does anyone know whether or not CFLDAP will function with an ADFS server?Many thanks for your answers and information
